than ever. jake tapper, cnn, washington. this is the bay area's news station. kron 4 news at 11:00 starts now. our top story in the bay area, police are looking for more victims of a suspected child predator. thanks for joining us at 11:00, i'm steve aveson. >> i'm pam moore. ian teager was arrested accused of luring a young girl on social media and sexually assaulting her. >> kron 4's ella sogomonian is in patterson where she spoke with neighbors who say they are shocked by his arrest. >> he was strange. >> reporter: several neighbors of ian used the same words to describe his character. different and quiet. news the 40-year-old had been arrested for allegedly awe luring a minor on the internet almost two hours away is hitting the patterson community hard. >> it is shocking. scary. i have to be really scareful

with my neighborhood. >> reporter: those that live next door say he is a father of two small children and kept to himself for years. any time neighbors walked by the home, he never said hello. instead, would be on his computer or on his phone to himself for hours. they said teager would sit on his torch using the devices confiscated as everyday by investigators. >> every time i walked to the mailbox, he never said hi to everybody. i try to be friendly. he didn't want to associate or talk to anybody or say hi to anybody. >> reporter: he is now in custody, livers one block away from creek side middle school and neighbors say his wife is a teacher. parents in the area are worried that a possible child predator lived among them. >> it is scary. i'm a working mom. and sometimes, she stays. she comes home before i come home. >> reporter: we reached out to the teager family who said no

comment. ella sogomonian, kron 4 news. another big story. a u.s. marshal's deputy shoots a suspect right near hayward. that suspect was treated and released from the hospital. is now in jail. kron 4's alecia reid is at the jail with what went down. >> reporter: u.s. marshals were in the process of detaining a fugitive when things went awry. while trying to execute a federal warrant, officials say it became dangerous and marshalls fired at the suspected who was inside a vehicle. he is wanted in the state of louisiana for drug and weapons charges. he sustained some injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. it is not clear if he was grazed by a bullet or shrapnel or glass hit him. but his injuries are considered minor. fair view elementary school on the same block was still in session and had to be locked down about an hour. all while sheriffs deputies got everything under control. he was treated at the hospital. then transported here to the

jail. meanwhile, the alameda county sheriff's office stefon in charge of the investigation. they have been interviewing witnesses and checking surveillance footage. reporting from dublin, alecia reid, kron 4 news. >> now, to san leandro, police calling it a violent and vicious attack. two elderly people seriously hurt tonight after a speeding car involved in a shoot-out with another car crashed into that couple. police say people in two different cars were shooting at each other. as the cars were driving on i- 580 near mcarthur boulevard. one of the vehicles involved, a niece san altima, was on dally boulevard near reed avenue. the nissan slammed into a toyota prius head on sends the prius hair borne. the elderly couple in the prius had to be rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. the driver requiring the jaws of life to get him out. the man in the nissan was found with multiple bullet wounds. he is in the hospital and the suspect in the shoot-out, now the police investigation is focused on trying to figure out

if other car involved in the initial shoot-out. trying to track down that shooter. i'm grant lodes, kron 4 news. other top stories, we are following tonight. a body found outside a san jose home has been ruled a homicide. police responded just after 1:00 this afternoon. the victim has not yet been identified. in danville, a community in shock after racist graffiti is found scribbled on the walls at monte vista high school. it is the fourth such incident in less than a month in the san ramon school district. tonight, at an emergency meeting, parents came together to support each other and to voice their concern. the principle says he will be looking at hidden surveillance cameras to find out who did this. it is being considered hate speech for the first offense. a student will get three to five days of suspension for the second offense, expulsion.

in danville. police arrested five teenage girls in connection to a series of strong armed robberies targeting women in west oakland and rock ridge. >> we had a crew of female suspects ranging from 14 to 16 that were committing multiple strong arm robberies. >> very concerned especially because i have a two-year-old toddler. so, we were just talking about how safe this neighborhood is. i suppose here, we are kind of lulled into a sense of security because, it is so lovely and it is so beautiful. >> it is to remind you of some of the safety tips. walk in groups if you can. walk in well lit areas. >> reporter: in oakland, haaziq madyun, kron 4 news. in san francisco, the district attorney gave badges to his two newest officers of the court. attaching them to their collars. meet red and pink. two courthouse facility dogs. they will work with crime victim to help them reduce their stress and help prevent them from reliving their trauma as they navigate the criminal justice system. the dogs will begin working with the city's most vulnerable
