outside this morning as we wake up to the month of may. hot temperatures are on tap for today, the beginning of a mini heat wave. let's go outside and check the 4-zone camera network. it's clear this morning. we are expecting a warmer day today with inland highs reaching the mid to upper 80s. and it will continue to warm over the next several days as high pressure builds inland over the great basin and offshore winds develop. widespread 80s to mid 90s are expected tuesday and wednesday afternoons. a cooling trend is then expected for the latter part of the week as ocean winds return. rain showers are possible as we head into next weekend with a storm system approaching our region. overnight... at least 8 people are shot at a birthday party in san diego. kron 4's terisa estacio is following the latest from the breaking news desk. terisa. ( terisa ) at least one person is dead. and seven others are injured. a gunman opened fire at the swimming pool inside that apartment complex. this is video from the scene. overnight police revealed that several of the victims are still in critical condition. investigators say a large group of people were celebrating a birthday party when the shooting began. another person was injured when they broke an arm while trying to run away from the shooting. the gunman was shot and killed by police after he pointed his gun at the officers.

( darya ) thousands of people are expected to take to the streets in the bay area today in solidarity for a nationwide may day strike. ( mark ) one of the events in the bay area includes a protest in front of the ice building in san francisco. kron 4's will tran is live there this morning with the details. will. ( will ) today's protest will begin at 8:00 and last for about 2 hours before they march to justin herman plaza. this is just one of the many events planned around the bay area and across the country. hundreds of people are expected to show up

at this protest. the protesters say they are protesting the recent deportations by ice agents and the trump administrations treatment of immigrants.

( mark ) may day events will also be held in the south bay later today. on willow street in san jose... several businesses are closing their doors in support of international workers day. people who work in the area say they feel strongly about taking part in today's rallies and the message they are sending. ( mark ) more than half of the businesses on willow street are expected to close. at 1-pm today there is a may day rally at

the mexican heritage plaza in san jose and the group will then march to arena greens. organizers expect as many as 50-thousand people to show up. ( mark ) this protest will affect the v-t-a lines today. alum rock avenue and santa clara street will be closed from king road to autumn street. bus service will be rerouted on alum rock avenue and santa clara street to mckee road and east julian street, between king road and autumn street. 15 lines will be affected, those are on your screen. highway 17 and monterey- salinas transit 86 will be affected as well. ( darya ) there are several other may day events in the bay area planned today. in oakland, a rally will start at 3 p-m at fruitvale plaza. with a march at 4 p-m heading to san antonio park. a few high schools have noted that students will be walking out of class today and marching down international boulevard. for a full list of events, you can visit our website at kron four dot com. and tear gas onto a group of protesters this morning. officers also broke up hundreds of marches around the city. so far 200 people have been arrested after police told them not to protest. 34 people were killed during a may day demonstration in turkey 40- years ago. (mark) congress has avoided a government shutdown by reaching an agreement on a one trillion-dollar spending bill. this would fund the day-to-day operations of virtually every federal agency until october first. if approved by the house and senate, the spending bill would be the first major piece of bi-partisan legislation to advance during president trump's presidency. the measure rejects white house proposals to cut popular programs such as funding medical research and community development grants. it adds 15- billion dollars to strengthen the military. it does ánotá include money for a wall along the u-s mexico border. ( mark ) in the east bay... a toddler has died after he was run over by a car

in the parking lot of a shopping center. this happened saturday afternoon at the shopping center off decoto and alvarado-niles roads in union city. police say the 23-month-old boy walked away from his parents who were shopping in a store and ran into the parking lot. a car hit the boy and the child was killed. police say the driver is cooperating with the investigation. ( darya ) one man is dead after a hit-and-run near half moon bay. police later arrested the suspected driver after finding parts of the victim's bicylce under his car. it happened as the victim was riding his bicyle on highway one saturday morning. debris on the road led investigators to a nearby home where they arrested angel gongora. police say the victim's bike was still lodged under gongora's s-u-v as he drove away from the crime scene. police have not yet released the name of the victim. gongora is being held on several charges at the san mateo county jail. (darya) police have arrested a man accused of killing another man next to

the santa cruz beach boardwalk. kevin callahan is being charged with murder. he was caught on main beach yesterday. police say the 58-year-old was involved in a fight with the victim near the beach volleyball courts. officers say the victim and the suspect were both homeless... and had been camping on the beach. ( mark ) a woman is recovering this morning after getting bit by a shark at a popular southern california beach. it happened saturday near san onofre state beach along the camp pendleton marine base in san diego county. the woman was walking through the water when she was bitten along her upper thigh. the beach was closed the next day. the woman was airlifted to the hospital, and her condition is unknown this morning. (mark) and a woman drowns while swimming in a creek in sonoma county. it happened in big sulphur creek near cloverdale on saturday. rescuers cay a couple was in the creek when they either slipped or were taken down stream by the current. the man was able to get out, but the woman drowned. officials are warning people that the creek in the spring

(darya) get ready to pay more at the pump.. governor brown has signed california's new 12 cent a gallon tax hike into law. it's aimed at repairing roads and bridges throughout the state. we'll see the spike in gas prices in november. but californians will have to wait more than a year before crews begin repaving roads. part of the law will also make it more expensive to register your car. that price hike goes into effect in january. (darya) happening now... dozens of firefighters are battling a fast-moving wildfire fire that is threatening homes in riverside county. the fire was first reported yesterday afternoon and has spread to more than 13- hundred acres and is only 25 percent contained. dry brush and strong winds are helping speed up the wildfire. about 40 homes are threatened this morning. (mark) a detroit police officer has been shot in the

back of the head. police say the officer and his partner were responding to a domestic violence call when somebody started shooting. the officers returned fire, killing the gunman. the injured officer is expected to recover. state snowpack surveyors are conducting their final measurement of the wet season in the sierra nevada. it is expected to be a record setting snowpack. wildlife officials are also warning backpackers to think twice before hiking in the mountain range... officials say many wild black bears are staying tucked away in their dens, hibernating for a month longer. ( mark ) breaking news from overnight... one person is dead after a shooting at a home depot in

( terisa @ flash ) the shooting happened last night at around 10:45. take a look at this map of where it happened. the man was shot at the home depot store on alameda avenue off of high street. police say one man died in the shooting. there is no word on any arrests this morning. we will continue to update you on this story as details come in. back to you. ( darya ) all of the rain we had over the winter is causing problems for marine life. dozens of dead sharks are washing up ashore around the bay area. just saturday alone -- over a dozen dead sharks were discovered on alameda beach. dead sharks are also washing up in redwood city and along the peninsula. experts believe toxins from storm water run-off is what's killing them.

habitat and all the pollution and problems i feel like we need the rain, but it really highlights how dirty and polluted things are>( darya ) experts say it is not just sharks that are dying in large numbers. they are also finding infected sting rays, halibut and other marine and fresh water fish. researchers at s-f state are studying some of these dead animals to see if anything can be done to prevent more marine life from dying. (mark) the u.s. government is investigating whether general motors should add about 312-thousand cars to a 2015 recall for headlights that can suddenly go dark. this comes as hundreds of new owners are complaining that the low-beam lights can fail. the investigation covers the 2005 and 2009 buick lacrosse, the 2006 and 2007 chevrolet trailblazer, gmc envoy and buick rainier, and the 2007 pontiac grand prix. (mark) more than 80-thousand child carriers are

being recalled because kids can fall out of them. it affects all models of poco, poco plus, and poco premium child backpack carriers made between january 20-12 and december 20-14. the company says the leg openings may be too big... causing children to slip through and fall out. the carriers were sold at r-e-i, amazon, and other outdoor stores from january 20-12 and december 20-15. there have been four reports of children falling... and in one incident child's skull was fractured. (darya) a new report from the associated press found a large number of sexual assaults by students in k through 12 schools. researchers say there has been roughly 17-thousand reports of sexual assaults at schools over a four-year-period. and many of the attacks are hidden because schools have no national requirement to track or disclose sexual violence. the assaults all happened on school property, or at school-sponsored events. the report says the majority of student sexual attacks were

against other students. researchers say the number of sexual assaults could be much higher because of missing data and government oversight. (darya) united is facing more trouble this morning after a bunny unexpectedly died on a flight last week. the owner says the airline had the bunny cremated without her consent. simon was on track to become the world's largest bunny. he was being flown to iowa after a well-known real estate mogul bought him. simon was shipped in healthy condition from london... but he was found dead in the holding cargo. an airport worker says the pet was put in a freezer by mistake. his previous owner said she asked united to ship his body back to london so it could be examined...but on friday she

learned that they had cremated simon. united had the second-highest level of animal deaths and injuries of any us airline last year. (mark) the c-e-o of amazon is just one step closer to being the richest person in the world. bezos's net worth rose by nearly two billion dollars friday after amazon reported strong earnings and its stock rose two percent. according to forbes and bloomberg, bezos is now worth 80-and- a-half-billion dollars... making him the world's third- wealthiest person. he's just half-a-billion behind number two, spanish retail magnate amancio ortega. both men continue to trail microsoft founder bill gates. he's now worth more than 87 billion dollars. luxury music festival turned into chaos over the weekend. and this morning organizer "ja rule" is apologizing for the fiasco in the bahamas. (mark) the "fyre festival" was canceled last minute as attendees say they showed up to leaky tents, half constructed plywood stages, and the promised gourmet food consisted of soggy ham sandwiches. (darya) the festival was heavily promoted on social media as a lavish event... and people paid as much as 12-thousand dollars to attend. blink 182 was the planned headliner of the event, but they canceled just days before. (mark) ja rule tweeted saying he is heartbroken, and it was not a scam as people were reporting. he says everyone will get a full refund, plus v-i-p passes to next year's festival. a statement on the fyre festival website says there were just too many people for them to accommodate. (darya) tired parents can

now take a sleep class. (mark) a gym in london came up with the concept called a "napercise". it's a 60- minute sleep class that they say relaxes the body and mind. (darya) parents can get into the beds and listen to calming sounds that helps them fall asleep for 45 minutes. the temperature of the studio is also dropped to promote calorie burning during sleep. the trainers say once the parents wake up, they are refreshed and can go on with their day. (mark) the gym that created the class came up with the idea after a study revealed 86-percent of parents said they were fatigued. no word on if this "napercise" concept will come to the u-s. ( mark ) breaking news from overnight... the death toll continues to rise after deadly storms sweep across the south and midwest. at least 14 people have been killed by tornadoes and flooding. you're looking at video of the damage in texas... and severe flooding in oklahoma... and , arkansas. ( mark ) and this morning record flooding is expected across several other states in the south and midwest. kron 4's terisa estacio is following the latest from the breaking news desk. terisa? that the latest victm from these storms is a 2-year-old who was killed when a metal soccer goal was blown over in tennessee. that brings the death toll now to at least 14. take a look at this new video just into the kron four news room... a water rescue team in arkansas pulled out a pregnant woman and a man from the rushing waters and to safety. authorities say the couple's truck washed off the they eventually abandoned it and clung to tree branches to keep from being swept away. and take a look at this. this is just one of the tornadoes that touched down in texas. this video was captured by a group of storm chasers. you can see just how wide that tornado is. and here is the damage left behind... at least three tornadoes touched down in texas just 60 miles apart. 50 other people were injured. the governors of arkansas and missouri have declared states of emergency after severe flooding in those states. and this morning for the first time we are hearing form people as they return home to assess the damage. . .

( terisa ) and we are learning that several more children are among the dead. in arkansas... an 18-month old girl and a 4-year-old boy were in a car that was swept off a bridge by flood waters. a 10 -year-old girl also drowned in that state. ( mark ) as the warm weather melts the snow in the sierra nevada. forecasters expect at least one california river to hit flood stages this week. the merced river in yosemite national park is expected to rise about a foot over its banks on wednesday. the wet winter brought a record amount of snow to the sierra. the national weather service says northern california usually doesn't see temperatures this high until early july. forcasters warn that rivers may run extra fast this year. (darya) conservative commentator ann coulter is bashing california just days after her u-c berkeley speech is canceled. she spoke at

a republican party fundraiser in modesto on friday. coulter's speech at u-c berkeley was cancelled because of threats of violence. she blamed college culture for the cancellation. at one point, coulter said the u-s would be better off if california left the union. her supporters rallied around her. (darya) there were moments of tension between protesters in modesto. however, that never escalated to violence. (mark) police are searching for a man they say exposed himself to a group of people on the stanford campus. officers say the man was outside of a car when he exposed himself yesterday morning. three different people reported the incident to police. witnesses say he drove off in a newer white sedan. there is no clear descrption of the man this morning. ( mark ) a u-s service member is killed in the fight against isis in iraq. army

first lieutenant weston lee died in an explosion on saturday. the 25-year-old joined the army in march of 2015. he is the second member of the u-s military to be killed since the start of the operation to take the city of mosul from isis control. he has been awarded the bronze star and purple heart. ( darya ) delta airlines has finished it's investgation after one of their pilot's stepped in to stop a fight between two women and ended up punching one of the women. it happened in atlanta on april 21. the two women suddenly started to fight. the pilot steps in to separate the women by hitting one of them. according to t-m-z, a delta employee escorted the women off the plane and police were called. neither woman plan to press charges. the pilot has returned to work. ( darya ) the f-b-i is now part of an investigation into how a hacker got a hold of season five of netflix show "orange is the new black." the hacker, who goes by the

name " the dark overlord" had demanded that netflix pay a ransom in exchange for not leaking the episodes prematurely online. but now, 10 episodes from the upcoming season are available for download on an illegal file-sharing service. the los gatos based company has not commented on the hacking. ( mark ) if you are already thinking ahead to the next presidential election...joe biden says he will not be running for president in 20-20. the former vice president made the announcement yesterday during a speech at an annual new hampshire democratic party dinner. biden's post- election visits to the state fueled speculation about his presidential ambitions but he put those rumors to rest. (darya) there was a party thrown to celebrate marshawn lynch signing with oakland, it just wasn't where most people thought it was going to be. according to social media reports, lynch decided to throw his block party in his old neighborhood instead of outside his store. but it was reportedly closed to the public. lynch's cousin

and we go to extra innings. that's when the padres take the lead and win the game in 12 innings. final score is 5 to 2. meanwhile the a's took on the astros in houston, hoping to win the 3 game series. but they struggled. the astros win the game easily, 7 to 2. ( darya ) and the nfl's draft process was a little too much for one player. chad kelly from ole miss actually fell asleep while waiting to be drafted. kelly was caught on camera sleeping. this was during the 6th round of the draft. he was eventually drafted by the denver broncos with the last pick of the draft.

(darya) the rise of new houston texans quarterback deshaun watson can't be told without what his mother has done for him and his family. while battling cancer, she raised watson and his three siblings, and later worked to get a new habitat for humanity house that ended up furnished by a charity run by former atlanta falcons running back warrick dunn. after the texans traded up to grab the clemson product, watson read a letter from his mother that brought him to tears. new york has revealed the name of april the giraffe's famous calf. her name is "tajiri," (taj-eerie) a word in swahili that means hope. she will go by "taj" for short. the zoo ran a fan vote where people had to donate one-dollar to make a pick for the name. she was born on april 15th. millions of people watched as april's delivery was streamed live on the zoo's youtube page. protesters this morning. officers also broke up hundreds of marches around the city. so far 200 people have been arrested after police told them not to protest. 34 people were killed during a may day demonstration in turkey 40- years ago. ( darya ) breaking news from overnight... at least 8 people are shot at a birthday party in san diego. kron 4's terisa estacio is following the latest from the breaking news desk. terisa. ( terisa ) at least one person is dead. and seven others are injured. a gunman opened fire at the swimming pool inside that apartment complex. this is video from the scene. overnight police revealed that several of the victims are still in critical condition. investigators say a large group of people were celebrating a birthday party when the shooting began. another person was injured when they broke an arm while trying to run away from the shooting. the gunman was shot and killed by police after he pointed his gun at the officers. and now we are hearing from witnesses who describe the scene after the shooting started.

moon bay. police later arrested the suspected driver after finding parts of the victim's bicylce under his car. it happened as the victim was riding his bicyle on highway one saturday morning. debris on the road led investigators to a nearby home where they arrested angel gongora. police say the victim's bike was still lodged under gongora's s-u-v as he drove away from the crime scene. police have not yet released the name of the victim. gongora is being held on several charges at the san mateo county jail. shooting happened last night at around 10:45. take a look at this map of where it happened. the man was shot at the home depot store on alameda avenue off of high street. police say one man died in the shooting. he is being identified as robert mccorvey, a 22-year-old man from pittsburg. there is no word on any arrests this morning. we will continue to update you on this story as details come in. back to you. ( darya ) millions of gallons of sewage has been dumped into a napa county lake and creek.. an estimated six million gallons leaked into lake berryessa and putah creek. the problem started this fall and winter. rain-water filled up storage ponds used for treating wastewater at a water district facility. this forced the district to spray waste-water on land. it mixed with rain-water and flowed into putah creek and lake berry- essa. the district says the public was not at risk

because they treat the water for bacteria. ( mark ) happening now... dozens of firefighters are battling a fast-moving wildfire fire that is threatening homes in riverside county. the fire was first reported yesterday afternoon and has spread to more than 13- hundred acres and is only 25 percent contained. dry brush and strong winds are helping speed up the wildfire. about 40 homes are threatened this morning. ( darya ) all of the rain we had over the winter is causing problems for marine life. dozens of dead sharks are washing up ashore around the bay area. just saturday alone -- over a dozen dead sharks were discovered on alameda beach. dead sharks are also washing up in redwood city and along the peninsula. experts believe toxins from storm water run-off is what's killing them.

highlights how dirty and polluted things are>( darya ) experts say it is not just sharks that are dying in large numbers. they are also finding infected sting rays, halibut and other marine and fresh water fish. researchers at s-f state are studying some of these dead animals to see if anything can be done to prevent more marine life from dying. ( mark ) a woman is recovering this morning after getting bit by a shark at a popular southern california beach. it happened saturday near san onofre state beach along the camp pendleton marine base in san diego county. the woman was walking through the water when she was bitten along her upper thigh. the beach was closed the next day. the woman was airlifted to the hospital, and her condition is unknown this morning. ( darya ) and a woman drowns while swimming in a creek in sonoma county. it happened in big sulphur creek near cloverdale on saturday. rescuers cay a couple was in the creek when they either slipped or were taken down stream by the current. the man was able

(darya) what was supposed to be a luxury music festival turned into chaos over the weekend. and this morning organizer "ja rule" is apologizing for the fiasco in the bahamas. (mark) the "fyre festival" was canceled last minute as attendees say they showed up to leaky tents, half constructed plywood stages, and the promised gourmet food consisted of soggy ham sandwiches. (darya) the festival was heavily promoted on social media as a lavish event... and people paid as much as 12-thousand dollars to attend. blink 182 was the planned headliner of the event, but they canceled just days before. (mark) ja rule tweeted saying he is heartbroken, and it was not a scam as people were reporting. he says everyone will get a full refund, plus v-i-p passes to next year's festival. a statement on the fyre festival website says there were just too many people for them to

( mark ) breaking news from overnight... the death toll continues to rise after deadly storms sweep across the south and midwest. at least 14 people have been killed by tornadoes and flooding. you're looking at video of the damage in texas... and severe flooding in oklahoma... and , arkansas. ( mark ) and this morning record flooding is expected across several other states in the south and midwest. kron 4's terisa estacio is following the latest from the breaking news desk. terisa? ( terisa ) we are learning that the latest victm from these storms is a 2-year-old who was killed when a metal soccer goal was blown over in tennessee. that brings the death toll now to at least 14. take a look at this new video just into the kron four news room... a water rescue team in arkansas pulled out a pregnant woman and a man from the rushing waters and to safety. authorities say the couple's truck washed off the road. they eventually

abandoned it and clung to tree branches to keep from being swept away. and take a look at this. this is just one of the tornadoes that touched down in texas. this video was captured by a group of storm chasers. you can see just how wide that tornado is. and here is the damage left behind... at least three tornadoes touched down in texas just 60 miles apart. 50 other people were injured. the governors of arkansas and missouri have declared states of emergency after severe flooding in those states. and this morning for the first time we are hearing form people as they return home to assess the damage. . . ( terisa ) and we are learning that several more children are among the dead. in arkansas... an 18-month old girl and a 4-year-old boy were in a car that was swept off a

( darya ) friends, family and others gathered for a vigil in the honor of a missing 20-year-old yuba city woman. aly yeoman went missing more than a month ago. her truck and phone was discovered in a nearby orchard, but she was never found. police say they also saw footsteps near where the truck was. it's been a tough month not just for the family, but the community and searchers as a whole. aly's grandfather isn't losing hope. ( darya ) yeoman was last seen at a friend's house in yuba city. investigators searched the home in question, police say they didn't find anything suspcious. ( mark ) police are searching for a man they say

exposed himself to a group of people on the stanford campus. officers say the man was outside of a car when he exposed himself yesterday morning. three different people reported the incident to police. witnesses say he drove off in a newer white sedan. there is no clear descrption of the man this morning. ( darya ) a u-s service member is killed in the fight against isis in iraq. army first lieutenant weston lee died in an explosion on saturday. the 25-year-old joined the army in march of 2015. he is the second member of the u-s military to be killed since the start of the operation to take the city of mosul from isis control. he has been awarded the bronze star and purple heart. are accused of having an 11- year-old student bullied by her classmates. ann marie shelvin and tracy gallow are now facing criminal charges. police say the teachers told students they would fail them if they didn't fight an 11- year-old girl. deputies say they have surveillance video showing the 11-year-old girl being abused by the students.

( darya ) the wet weather in california has not only helped the drought...but it has also helped the bees. more bee swarms have been spotted in northern california. that's because the rainy weather has brought a lot for them to eat and drink. more bee swarms help farmers

( mark ) conservative commentator ann coulter is bashing california just days after her u-c berkeley speech is canceled. she spoke at a republican party fundraiser in modesto on friday. coulter's speech at u-c berkeley was cancelled because of threats of violence. she blamed college culture for the cancellation. at one point, coulter said the u-s would be better off if california left the union. her supporters rallied around her. ( mark ) there were moments of tension between protesters in modesto. however, that never escalated to violence. ( darya @ landing ) united is facing more trouble this morning after a bunny unexpectedly died on a flight last week. the owner says the airline had the bunny cremated without her consent.

simon was on track to become the world's largest bunny. he was being flown to iowa after a well-known real estate mogul bought him. simon was shipped in healthy condition from london... but he was found dead in the holding cargo. an airport worker says the pet was put in a freezer by mistake. his previous owner said she asked united to ship his body back to london so it could be examined...but on friday she learned that they had cremated simon. united had the second-highest level of animal deaths and injuries of any us airline last year. (darya @ landing) a new report from the associated press found a large number of sexual assaults by students in k through 12 schools. researchers say there has been roughly 17-thousand reports of sexual assaults at schools over a four-year-period. and many of the attacks are hidden because schools have no

national requirement to track or disclose sexual violence. the assaults all happened on school property, or at school-sponsored events. the report says the majority of student sexual attacks were against other students. researchers say the number of sexual assaults could be much higher because of missing data and government oversight. ( darya ) students at one elementary school in st-louis now have new basketball hoops at their school thanks to a local cop. officer michael owens says his heart sank when he saw the children playing basketball with no hoop and a rotting back-board. owens posted about the situation on facebook to try and get new backboards for them. this led to two companies joining forces in covering the cost of two new hoops.

( darya ) breaking news from overnight... at least 8 people are shot at a birthday party in san diego. kron 4's terisa estacio is following the latest from the breaking news desk. terisa. ( terisa ) at least one person is dead. and seven others are injured. a gunman opened fire at the swimming pool inside that apartment complex. this is video from the scene. overnight police revealed that several of the victims are still in critical condition. investigators say a large group of people were celebrating a birthday party

when the shooting began. another person was injured when they broke an arm while trying to run away from the shooting. the gunman was shot and killed by police after he pointed his gun at the officers. ( mark ) a woman is recovering this morning after getting bit by a shark at a popular southern california beach. it happened saturday near san onofre state beach along the camp pendleton marine base in san diego county. the woman was walking through the water when

she was bitten along her upper thigh. the beach was closed the next day. the woman was airlifted to the hospital, and her condition is unknown this morning. (mark) and a woman drowns while swimming in a creek in sonoma county. it happened in big sulphur creek near cloverdale on saturday. rescuers cay a couple was in the creek when they either slipped or were taken down stream by the current. the man was able to get out, but the woman drowned. officials are warning people that the creek in the spring is rough and the water moves fast. (darya) in the east bay... a toddler has died after he was run over by a car in the parking lot of a shopping center. this happened saturday afternoon at the shopping center off decoto and alvarado-niles roads in union city. police say the 23-month-old boy walked away from his parents who were shopping in a store and ran into the parking lot. a car hit the boy and the child was killed. police say the driver is cooperating with the investigation. (darya) one man is dead after a hit-and-run near half

moon bay. police later arrested the suspected driver after finding parts of the victim's bicylce under his car. it happened as the victim was riding his bicyle on highway one saturday morning. debris on the road led investigators to a nearby home where they arrested angel gongora. police say the victim's bike was still lodged under gongora's s-u-v as he drove away from the crime scene. police have not yet released the name of the victim. gongora is being held on several charges at the san mateo county jail. ( terisa @ flash ) the shooting happened last night at around 10:45. take a look at this map of where it happened. the man was shot at the home depot store on alameda avenue off of high street. police say one man died in the shooting. he has been identified as 22- year-old robert mccorvey from pittsburg. there is no word on any arrests this morning. we will continue

( mark ) police are searching for a man they say exposed himself to a group of people on the stanford campus. officers say the man was outside of a car when he exposed himself yesterday morning. three different people reported the incident to police. witnesses say he drove off in a newer white sedan. there is no clear descrption of the man this morning. ( darya ) all of the rain we had over the winter is causing problems for marine life. dozens of dead sharks are washing up ashore around the bay area. just saturday alone -- over a dozen dead sharks were discovered on alameda beach. dead sharks are also washing up in redwood city and along the peninsula. experts believe toxins from storm water run-off is what's killing them. ( darya )

experts say it is not just sharks that are dying in large numbers. they are also finding infected sting rays, halibut and other marine and fresh water fish. researchers at s-f state are studying some of these dead animals to see if anything can be done to prevent more marine life from dying. ( mark ) as the warm weather melts the snow in the sierra nevada. forecasters expect at least one california river to hit flood stages this week. the merced river in yosemite national park is expected to rise about a foot over its banks on wednesday. the wet winter brought a record amount of snow to the sierra. the national weather service says northern california usually doesn't see temperatures this high until early july. forcasters warn that rivers may run extra fast this year. (darya) conservative commentator ann coulter is bashing california just days after her u-c berkeley speech is canceled. she spoke at a republican party fundraiser in modesto on friday. coulter's speech at u-c berkeley was cancelled because of threats of violence.

she blamed college culture for the cancellation. at one point, coulter said the u-s would be better off if california left the union. her supporters rallied around her. (darya) there were moments of tension between protesters in modesto. however, that never escalated to violence. (mark) the u.s. government is investigating whether general motors should add about 312-thousand cars to a 2015 recall for headlights that can suddenly go dark. this comes as hundreds of new owners are complaining that the low-beam lights can fail. the investigation covers the 2005 and 2009 buick lacrosse, the 2006 and 2007 chevrolet trailblazer, gmc envoy and buick rainier, and the 2007 pontiac grand prix. (darya) what was supposed to be a luxury music festival turned into chaos over the weekend. and this morning organizer "ja rule" is apologizing for the fiasco in the bahamas. (mark) the "fyre festival" was canceled last minute as attendees say they showed up to leaky tents, half constructed plywood stages, and the promised gourmet food consisted of soggy ham sandwiches. the festival was heavily promoted on social media as a lavish event... and people paid as much as 12-thousand dollars to attend. blink 182 was the planned headliner of the event, but they canceled just days before. ja rule tweeted saying he is heartbroken, and it was not a scam as people were reporting.

he says everyone will get a full refund, plus v-i- p passes to next year's festival. a statement on the fyre festival website says there were just too many people for them to accommodate.
