( mark ) breaking news from overnight. vallejo police shoot a 20 year old man who they were trying to capture for the past seven days. ( darya ) an officer was also injured in the shooting. kron 4's lydia

( lydia )here's what happened police were trying to arrest a man that they have been looking for for several days. they surrounded a home in the area but when the suspect found out.... he tried to escape and rammed his vehicle into one of the officers vehicles.(take vo)this video of the scene.this all started in may 25th, when officers from the vallejo police department were involved in a pursuit with a driver who was driving recklessly that driver his 20-year-old kevin de carlo. then on may 27 officers located decarlo in vallejo but he took off in a car.police

say during that incident he purposely crashed his car into a patrol car before running away.that leads us to last night when police got information that decarlo was inside a home on the 4000 block of ellis road...again he tried to take off and rammed his vehicle into an officers vehicle.that's when officers fired several shots.decarlo suffered serious injuries and is in the hospital.a vallejo police officer suffered minor injuries.he was treated and released at the hospital. have a homicide investigation on their hands after a shooting and crash wednesday night. take a look at some video from the scene.police got the call at about 5:45 wednesday evening. they responded to reports of shots fired on the 2100 block of lemontree way. when they got there evidence led them to the victim who hit several cars trying to flee the scene of the shooting. they found the victim on l street near the highway 4 overpass. the victim in this case died from his injuries after being transported to a local hospital.the suspect in the shooting was found inside a home near the scene of the shooting. police say the suspected shooter initially refused to cooperate, barricading himself inside the home- causing a standoff.the unidentified man eventually

( darya ) happening today... president trump is set to announce if the united states will withdraw from the paris climate agreement.( mark ) rebecca strom is here with more on the president's expected decision. rebecca. ( rebecca ) the president is expected to announce his decision from the rose garden of the white house around noon. there are reports out this morning that the president will pull-out of the paris climate deal. nearly 200 nations signed the 20-15 paris climate accord. the landmark deal, aims to curb the rise of global temperatures...requiring that countries submit to emissions assessments. trump promised

on the campaign trail... that he would pull out of the deal. but polls show that most americans support the agreement. the president's advisers and cabinet appear divided on the issue. chief strategist steve bannon and environmental protection agency administrator scott pruitt have lobbied for leaving the climate agreement. but ivanka trump, energy secretary rick perry and secretary of state rex tillerson have pressed the president to remain in the accord. here in the bay area...elected officials are responding to news the president may pull the united states out of the climate accord. some officials, including oakland mayor libby schaaf, were in paris when the agreement was signed in 2015.

( mark ) san jose union construction workers are turning to voters to try and save local jobs. plumbers, pipe fitters and other tradesmen picketed outside a residential high rise project. they are upset that developers are being allowed to higher workers from out of town and are paying less than market rate wages. the city says it cannot force developers to hire local workers for these projects which are generating millions of dollars in property tax revenue.

( darya ) it is day three of jury deliberations in the penalty phase of the trial against the man convicted of killing sierra lamar. the jury is trying to decide whetehr antolin garcia-torres should receive the death penalty or life in prison. the defense team has argued that garcia-torres has a mental illness caused by exposure to pesticides when he was a child. dense fog in san francisco this morning. as for the forecast, seasonably cool conditions are expected today with partly cloudy skies at the coast and bay. it will be mostly sunny inland where highs this afternoon will reach the upper 70s to near 80. looking ahead, slight warming is expected for friday and saturday with low 80s forecast for the interior valleys. minor cooling on sunday, but temps bounce back quickly on monday.

bounty hunters at a car dealership near dallas, texas. ( darya ) the graphic moments leading up the shooting are all caught on camera. rebecca strom is here with the video. ( rebecca ) this is cellphone video showing the moment before the deadly shootout between bounty hunters and a fugitive inside the dealership on tuesday. police say the two bounty hunters went to the nissan dealership of greenville to apprehend a man. police say the bounty hunters approached the man with their guns drawn and then gave the man orders...then everything changed... the man then pulled out his own gun and started shooting. we want to warn you -- some viewers may find this video distrubing.

hunters were after the fugitive because he had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on a first-degree drug charge in minneapolis. ( darya ) police in the east bay are looking for a person caught on camera burglarizing a home in orinda. this happened on tuesday on el toyonal avenue. police are just releasing this home surveillance video. you can see the thief putting something in a bag -- he then heads back into the hallway -- and the front door. ( mark ) the woman at the center of the oakland police sex scandal -- has agreed to a large settlement with the city of oakland.( darya ) now 19-year-old jasmine abuslin says she is "happy" and ready to move on. kron4's haaziq maydun has the story. close to a million dollars, that is the price the city of oakland paid to settle the civil law suit filed by jasmine formeley known as celeste guap in the police sex scandal case

officers should be held to the standard of obeying the law and they are not above the law">jasmine's previous legal team filed a $66-million dollar claim against 6 bay area cities. after taking over the case her new attorney john burris obvisouly settled for a smaller number in oakland. so, does she think that roughly a million dollars is a fair settlement in this case? it was in a text conversation around this time last year jasmine told me that she worked as a call girl, had sex with dozens of police officers, a few when she was a minor. on this day, in front of the media, adult jasmine was woman of few words. when asked how she feels emotionally she said... when asked if she is prepared to move forward with testifying in any criminal misconduct cases against officers she said simplynow that the oakland civil suit has ended, the 19-year- old and her attornies will move forward with civil law

suits against the cities of livermore, richmond, alameda county, contra costa county and san francisco...in oakland haaziq madyun kron4news ( mark ) the city of berkeley is moving closer towards a ban on plastic straws. the city council unanimously approved a plan to study the effect a ban of plastic straws would have on the city in the long-run. the ban would prohibit the use of plastic straws in bars, restaurants and coffee shops city-wide.

coalition says more than 500- million plastic straws are used each day in the united states. ( darya ) two communities near sacramento are dealing with two sexual predators moving into their neighborhoods. today...one of them is moving into yuba county. the other is being allowed back his neighborhood in roseville after violating his parole. the department of corrections says a "sexually violent predator" is as a person convicted of a sexually violent offense against one or more victims.... and has been diagnosed with a mental disorder. some neighbors are fearful that these predators are moving in so close to the communities:

parents say they will be keeping a closer eye on their children and police say they will be doing extra patrols in the . ( mark ) happening tonight... the san francisco police department will host a town hall to talk about the officer involved shooting that happened last month. the incident started as a home invasion on quesada avenue on may 21st. this is video from the scene. when police arrived one person started shooting at them. that is when police returned fire. nobody was injured. tonight's town hall meeting will take place at 6:00 tonight at the bayview opera house. ( mark ) police have identified the man who was shot and killed by officers in vacaville. the man is 20-year-old joseph godinez. police say it started early monday morning when an officer was driving behind a honda civic that was stolen from davis. police tried to pull the car over but it took off. the chase began on interstate-80 and ended at the retail outlets. police tried forcing godinez to stop by ramming him. that's when police say godinez stepped on the gas pedal and crashed into a police car, sending it off the road. officers say they were forced to shoot him because he was threatening them with his

( mark ) in the east bay... family and friends gathered to remember the two teenagers who died in a car crash in alameda.( darya ) rebecca strom is here with the details. ( rebecca ) a candlelight vigil was held last night for

the two teens. briana ortega and simon soleto were both 17-years-old when they died in a car accident on memorial day. they were in a truck when it clipped another car and flipped a number of times. soleto's mother is planning his funeral now, just one month after his 17th birthday. this also comes two years after another one of other her children died in a crash. ( rebecca ) five other people were in the truck at the time of the crash, they were also taken to the hospital. the family still doesn't know who was driving at the time, and the crash is being investigated. the mayor says the city plans on making a memorial at the crash site. back to you.

( mark ) the family of a man killed in a bernal heights park in san francisco are pleading for help finding his killer. ( darya ) and police are trying to re-assure the community that the park is safe. kron 4's justine waldman has the story. sot if anybody heard anything please come forward.. call the police (crying) the family of 33 year old giovanny alvarez begs for answers. the father of 4 was found stabbed to death on may 25th at bernal heights park. a memorial of flowers rests on the trail now.. the brutal nature of the crime has stunned people who come here. so i talked to one woman who was upset i think we are all sort of dazed nat sot meeting san francisco police wanted to calm the fears of the community now afraid their beloved park has become a place of constant crime. people say they find alcohol bottles, graffiti and hear people partying here late into the night. in response to

violations since march 8th... and 12 since last december. some of those violations include food not being maintained in proper temperatures as well as employees not properly washing and cleaning hands or wearing gloves. no word yet on when the restaurant will reopen. ( darya ) a man is behind bars in morgan hill charged with child molestation. police arrested 59-year-old ronn williams. the child's mother called police. officers say she claimed the man, who was a friend of hers, inappropriately touched her child. williams was booked into san jose's main jail. he is being held on a 350- thousand dollar bail scheduled to this afternoon. ( darya ) a five-year-old sacrament boy saved his family from drowning in a lake.( mark ) joshua serna is now being called a hero. it happened on monday at lake camanche when an inner tube that joshua's mom and two other children were in started to go flat. his mom wasn't wearing a life jacket, so his dad got off a sea-doo and gave his lifejacket to her. after he did that...he started going under water. joshua was still on the sea-doo when his family started screaming for help. he was able to turn the sea-doo around and save them.

( darya ) happening today... president trump is set to announce if the united states will withdraw from the paris climate agreement.( mark ) rebecca strom is here with more on the president's expected decision. rebecca. ( rebecca ) the president is expected to announce his decision from the rose garden of the white house around noon. there are reports out this morning that the president will pull-out of the paris climate deal. nearly 200 nations signed the 20-15 paris climate accord. the landmark deal aims to curb the rise of global temperatures... requiring that countries submit to emissions assessments. trump promised on the campaign trail that he would pull out of the deal. but polls show that most americans support the agreement. here in the bay area elected officials are responding to news the president may pull the united states out of the climate accord. some officials, including oakland mayor libby schaaf, were in paris when the agreement was signed in 2015.

( lydia )here's what happened police were trying to arrest a man that they have been looking for for several days. they surrounded a home in the area but when the suspect found out.... he tried to escape and rammed his vehicle into one of the officers vehicles.(take vo)this video of the scene.this all started in may 25th, when officers from the vallejo police department were involved in a pursuit with a driver who was driving recklessly that driver his 20-year-old kevin de carlo. then on may 27 officers located decarlo in vallejo but he took off in a car.police say during that incident he purposely crashed his car into a patrol car before running away.that leads us to last night when police got information that decarlo was inside a home on the 4000 block of ellis road...again he tried to take off and rammed his vehicle into an officers vehicle.that's when officers fired several shots.decarlo suffered serious injuries and is in the hospital.a vallejo police officer suffered minor injuries.he was treated and released at the hospital. .

( rebecca ) thirty-three- year-old giovanny alvarez was found stabbed to death on sunday. san francisco police officers held a community meeting last night, assuring the public to stay calm and that the park is safe. people living near the park say they find alcohol bottles, graffiti and hear partying late into the night. in response to the murder police have increased patrols. officers are not saying where alvarez was killed, but they believe he was targeted. ( rebecca @ land ) the family has set up a go-fund me page to help pay for funeral expenses. that's on our website on kron

( mark ) happening tonight... the san francisco police department will host a town hall to talk about the officer involved happened last month. the incident started as a home invasion on quesada avenue on may 21st. this is video from the scene. when police arrived one person started shooting at them. that is when police returned fire. nobody was injured. tonight's town hall meeting will take place at 6:00 tonight at the bayview opera house. ( darya ) in the east bay... family and friends gathered to remember the two teenagers who died in a car crash in alameda. a candlelight vigil was held last night for the two teens. briana ortega and simon soleto were both 17-years-old when they died in a car accident on memorial day. they were in a truck when it clipped another car and flipped a number of times. soleto's mother is planning his funeral now, just one month after his 17th birthday. this also comes two years after another one of other her children died in a crash.

( mark ) two bounty hunters and a fugitive are killed during a shootout at a car dealership near dallas, texas.( darya ) moments leading up the shooting are all caught on camera. rebecca strom is here with the video. ( rebecca ) this is cellphone video showing the moment before the deadly shootout between bounty hunters and a fugitive inside the dealership on tuesday. police say the two bounty hunters went to the nissan dealership of greenville to apprehend a man. police say the bounty hunters approached the man with their guns drawn and then gave the man orders...then everything changed... the man then pulled out his own gun and started shooting. we want to warn you -- some viewers may find this video distrubing.

20-year-old joseph godinez. police say it started early monday morning when an officer was driving behind a honda civic that was stolen from davis. police tried to pull the car over but it took off. the chase began on interstate-80 and ended at the retail outlets. police tried forcing godinez to stop by ramming him. that's when police say godinez stepped on the gas pedal and crashed into a police car, sending it off the road. officers say they were forced to shoot him because he was threatening them with his vehicle. business tax hike could raise enough money for a government- funded health care for everyone in california. that is according to a new report from a california nursing union. the report claims the tax hike would raise over 100-billion dollars a year. this comes as the state senate must vote on the bill by tomorrow. it would eliminate health insurance companies and provide government funded health care. openents of the bill say the report relies on shaky assumptions, including the trump adminstration would go along with the state's tax plans. ( darya ) state senators passed a bill to add a third gender option on stae i-d's for people who do not identify as either male of female. the bill now goes to the assembly. it would add another gender option for driver's licenses, birth certificates, identity cards

the toll plaza. richmond bridge drive less than 20 min from the toll to 101 ( mark ) this morning we are hearing from the woman who received nearly a million dollars from the city of oakland following a sex scandal. jasmine abuslin held a news conference yesterday with her attorney announcing a settlement of 989-thousand- dollars with the city of oakland. abuslin told kron4 that she worked as a call girl and had sex with dozens of police officers. she says some of those encounters happened when she was a minor. her attorney says the settlement sends a strong message to bay area law enforcement: ( mark ) abuslin will now move

forward with lawsuits against richmond, san francisco, livermore, contra costa county and alameda county. prosecutors have charged six current and retired officers for their alleged involvement with abuslin. ( mark ) the family of a man killed in bernal heights park in san francisco are pleading for help finding his killer. ( darya ) and police are trying to re-assure the community that the park is safe. kron 4's justine waldman has the story. sot if anybody heard anything please come forward.. call the police (crying) the family of 33 year old giovanny alvarez begs for answers. the father of 4 was found stabbed to death on may 25th at bernal heights park. a memorial of flowers rests on the trail now.. the brutal nature of the crime has stunned people who come here. so i talked to one woman who was upset i think we are all sort of dazed nat sot meeting san francisco police wanted to calm the fears of the community now afraid their beloved park has become a place of constant crime.

tonight... the san francisco police department will host a town hall to talk about the officer involved shooting that happened last month. the incident started as a home invasion on quesada avenue on may 21st. this is video from the scene. when police arrived one person started shooting at them. that is when police returned fire. nobody was injured. tonight's town hall meeting will take place at 6:00 tonight at the bayview opera house. ( darya ) it is day three of jury deliberations in the penalty phase of the trial against the man convicted of killing sierra lamar. the jury is trying to decide whetehr antolin garcia-torres should receive the death penalty or life in prison. the defense team has argued that garcia-torres has a mental illness caused by exposure to pesticides when he was a child. ( darya ) police in the east bay are looking for a person caught on camera burglarizing a home in orinda. this happened on tuesday on el toyonal avenue. police are just releasing this home surveillance video. you can see the thief putting

( darya ) two bay area spellers have advanced to the finals of the scripps national spelling bee. shrinidh gopal of san ramon and rutvik gandhasri of san jose are among the 40 finalists. today is the second day of the competition. hundreds of students started the competition yesterday. now we are down to the top 40. this year's finalists come from 20 u-s states, one canadian province, and the country of south korea. california and texas combine

for 13 of this year's finalists. the national spelling bee began back in 19-25 ...( mark ) a restaurant in concord was shut down because of a rat infestation. lin's buffet on willow pass road is known for selling chinese food, sushi, and seafood. the contra costa health department reports that this restaurant had 15 -code violations since march 8th... and 12 since last december. some of those violations include food not being maintained in proper temperatures as well as employees not properly washing and cleaning hands or wearing gloves. no word yet on when the restaurant will reopen. one of the original "rosie the riveters" returned to the factory floor in wichita. 92-year-old connie palacioz (puh-law-see-os) helped build b-29 planes in world war two. it had been nearly 75 years since she last visited the factory. she wore her old uniform, earrings, necklace and even a rosie the riveter pin just for the special occasion. ( mark ) take a look at this... the world's largest airplane has made its debut. it is being called the stratolaunch. it was revealed at the mojave air and space port in kern county. the plane has a 385-foot wingspan and stands fifty feet tall. it is designed to release rockets carrying satellites into space. the space center's goal is to launch the first demonstration by 2019. ( darya ) a guitar that jerry garcia played everywhere from san francisco's winterland ballroom to egypt's pyramids sold for just under two-million dollars. the grateful dead frontman's guitar sold at a charity auction in new york yesterday. the guitar's name is "wolf." the auctioneer says guitar first appeared in a 1973 new york performance the grateful dead gave for the hells angels. garcia died in 19-95.
