(grant) police say...the suspects were babysitting the little girl....when the crime occurred. kron four's terisa estacio joins us live now from sunnyvale - with what we are learning about the investigation. terisa? a disturbing crime out of the south bay to tell you about tonight. a four year old allegedly molested by her babysitter. kron four's terisa estacio is in sunnyvale for us tonight. this is an on going and active investigation right now, but authorities tell me that for the last few weeks they have been working on this case and now have arrested a babysitter and her boyfriend for allegedly
sexually molesting a 4 year old child. (package) captain shawn ahearn, sunnyvale department of public safety. "a case like this is horrifying, especially horrifying when you look at the age of the victim as this 4 year old. (estacio) captain shawn ahearn with the sunnyvale department of public safety says in july - the victims mother came to them after beliving her daughter had been molested at her home several times by a friend, the child's babysitter and the woman's boyfriend. ahearn. "we coordinated an investigationg, and after a lengthy investigaini we arrested 2 suspedts now in custody. and these are the suspects, 39 year old blanca torres and 39 year odl hector garcia. authorities say they do not have criminal records. but during the investigation, detectives did find some incriminating evidence. ahearn. "we found on blanca phone browser history of searching for child porn sites. q. did she upload pictures? no. just browser history. captain ahern says both suspects are now facing multiple felonies. ahearn. they were arrested and charged with 7 counts of lewdness with a child. (estacio live) captain ahearn says they are working with the family offering counseling services. the santa clara district attorneys office now has this
case. the two remain in custody pending an arraignment. terisa estacio kron four news (vicki) california authorities are searching for a 9-year-old boy who is missing since a fatal shooting in santa maria. police issued an amber alert early this morning for daniel morozov. the search began after police were dispatched to a shooting yesterday in santa maria and found a body. police say daniel is likely in the company of 48-year-old konstantin morozov who may be driving a blue volkswagon golf. morozov should be considered armed and dangerous.
police have not released any information about the man's relationship to the boy. authorities looking for the two have been urged to give special attention to international airports and border crossings. (grant) in the south bay... the man accused of shooting and killing an off- duty oakland firefighter... makes his first court appearance. kron four's rob fladeboe was there - and joins us live now with details on what happened today in court. rob? (rob live) the suspect in last thursday's shooting of two off duty oakland firefighters is being held without bail and if prosecutors have their way, he'll remain behind bars for the rest of his life after allegedly shooting the two firefighters in what the d.a. says was a surprise attack. the court allowed our cameras into department 23 this afternoon but it stipulated we
were not to show the defendant's face. 27 year old oliver juinio, handcuffed and shackled at the waist and feet, was arraigned on one count of murder and one count of attempted murder. he showed no emotion and spoke only briefly to his attorneys. juinio is the man police say shot two off duty oakland firefighters, one fatally, outside a taylor street market after they had attended a party for an independent clothing chain. in a statement of facts, prosecutors said there is no evidence of any kind provocation and that based on surveillance video from the market, juinio allegedly shot the firefighters down at close range in what is being characterized as a surprise attack.lance daugherty/deputrt dist. attorney"....based on the initial investigation, it appears to be an unprovoked attack as these two firefighters were shot without warning or provocation. what you have is two off duty firefighters who came down to san jose to enjoy the evening and were confronted by this individual who brandished a gun and ended up killing one and wounding the other....." this is a booking photo of

parents and students in one east bay school district are upset because of overcrowding at the school. dublin high school has nearly 28-hundred students this year. they are expected to grow to 5-thousand students in the next few years. that's because dublin is becoming one of the fastest growing cities in california. the city passed a 283 million dollar bond measure that would help build another high school. parents say the school expansion is taking too long. "sound from raymond / parent of dublin high school student - " it feels like nothing happens.. they have been talking about this for years" high school student: "passing periods get really crowded so you have to wait like a good one minute to minutes in order to be able to go up the stairs."(vicki) the dublin
school district will be holding a budget meeting tonight to try and figure out how they can get the second high school built faster. (grant) an official summer program at the oakland unified school district came to life because of one teacher's happy memories of his own childhood....(vicki) randy porter had loved his middle school music program - which had long since disappeared.. catherine heenan is here with more on how he decided to make a 'new' program happen.. (catherine) this was the fourth year of the program.....a big hit with both students and parents.and while everyone loves the jazz -- they'll tell you it's about more than the music..... these students have come to summer school to play... happily following in the footsteps of randy porter..a musician, teacher and composer who's been part of the bay area music scene for 30 years.. and we mean 'play'.....it's the final concert of a two week program randy started...called "oakland
summer jazz"...the kids are in middle school...many are new to jazz...or 'any' kind of music program.in this one -- they're playing 'with' masters. including randy himself...who's worked with everyone from joan baez to the berkeley symphony..natsotart baron...here from new york. he's worked with duke ellington, bruce springsteen and pink floyd to name a few. natsotjohn herrington - a jazz musician with his own band...who's taught thousands of students.do the kids realize how lucky they are? sot/randy2:15 "at some point in their life they're going to think 'oh my gosh i was working with art barron for a whole week? and he played with steve wonder and springsteen and recorded with those guys??" art9:37 "i'm as old as a lot of the guys were when i was in duke ellington's band. i was

(grant) kron four's spencer blake spoke with the man who found the flyers. sunday morning neil crawford found one of these flyers on his street.it shows a woman wearing a hijab, with the threatening message "help me kill you, stupid.""it's clearly something out of the ordinary. swastika's very visible."at first, he just threw the swastika-laden card in the trash.but when he found a second one on the sidewalk, he decided to let police know. an officer found a third one during his investigation on sherman street."i was sad. i was disappointed that something like that would be in our community, in our country, in our world." crawford and his wife posted about the flyer on a facebook group called 'alameda peeps,' where they heard from someone else who independently found the same flyer a few blocks away, near the islamic center of alameda.a representative there told kron four he'd like

mentally fit to stand trial. 39-year-old kori ali muhammad is accused of randomly gunning down three people on the streets of downtown fresno earlier this year. today 1 of three doctors has said muhammad is not psychologicall y capable of helping his attorney represent him in court.prosecutors and the defense will review the doctors' reports before deciding what to do next. muhammad hasn't entered a plea. he's due back in court in september. (grant) new info tonight on two of the four surviving suspects connected to last week's terror attacks in spain. (grant) a judge has ordered 21-year-old mohamed (huh-lee) houli chem-lal and 28-year-old driss (oh- kah-bear) oukabir be held without bail. this comes after 15 people died when a van plowed into pedestrians in barcelona. the judge says there was enough evidence to believe the two belong to a terrorist organization. (vicki)the wife of a bay area man killed in last week's barcelona attack says she's trying to find a waiter who
may have been be the last person to see her husband alive.heidi nunes-tucker of lafayette today says that a photo posted on social media shortly after the attack shows the waiter trying to help her gravely injured husband. 42-year-old jared tucker later died from his injuries. now his wife and her family want to find and thank the waiter. she says anyone who stopped to help amid the chaos "is a testament to the helpfulness and love" that strangers can show for each other. nunes-tucker is in barcelona as her husband's body is being prepared for her to take home. is under arrest for suspected child abuse... after surveillance video appears to show her grabbing and tossing a 5-year old. take a look. video shows 20-year-old aleana estepp picking up a 5- year-old girl by the arms. the little girl lands on her feet, but the employee grabs the girl and picks her up again. the child is then thrown and her face slammed on the floor. after police reviewed the video... they arrested estepp on child abuse charges. nina pitts...the 5-year-old's mother..say's when she first watched the video...she saw red. (grant) d.c. correspondent brie jackson introduces us to one of the winners. howard university student maya rogers says music is her life. maya rogers/ won formation scholarship: i cant imagine life without music. that passion helped this singer and songwriter earn a $25,000 schloarship from beyonce. the application process included writing an essay about how "lemonade" inspired her academic pursuits.maya: it was just overwhelming themes resilience and love and how love at the end of the day it trumps everything. it outshines everything. it heals everythingbrie bridge: the
scholarship went to four female students studying creative arts, music, literature or african-american studies. rogers hopes to use this opportunity to help others. the musician says music helped her recover from a serious car accident several years ago. now she's using the money from the formation scholaship to take part in the music therapy certificate program at howard. it is going to allow me to finish the certificate program here at howard and a six month internship after that.in the end she wants to use her talents to help others heal. maya: it's not just for sick people or people with server emotional programs. it's for every human being in one way shape or form.in washington brie jackson. about tonight. it was back in july when authorities say a mother came to them - saying her four year old was the victim of a sexual assault. an investigation was launched. and after several weeks of collecting evidence, two people have been arrested. these two. 39 year old blanca torres and 39 year old hector garcia. authorities say they found evidence on blanca's phone - showing that she had been reportedly searching child porn sites. now, they are concerned there are possibly more victims out there.
district attorney has this case and is moving forward with charges. they remain in custody. again, if you know of these suspect and had them baby sit for you, detectives would like to hear from you. (pam) sonoma county sheriff's detectives seized drugs, guns, and cash while serving search warrants at two homes in santa rosa. this contraband was taken from a home on brooks avenue. it was part of a drug sales investigation by the sheriff's office property & narcotics investigations unit. officers found more than 300- grams of methamphetamine,
cocaine, along with guns, scales and cash. 2 men were arrested in connection with the seizure. an amber alert is in effect tonight for los angeles, ventura and santa barbara counties for a nine-year-old boy... catherine heenan says police believe his 'father' abducted the boy in santa maria.....and he's alsowanted in connection with a murder... are getting calls from people complaining of symptoms tied to watching the eclipse... catherine heenan has just one of many examples - - a teenager in fresnowho 'thought' he was properly prepared... (catherine) it's probably not a surprise that some people are talking about eye problemsthe day after the eclipse... and fresno area doctors say they actually began getting calls monday afternoon... 18- year-old jose maldonado is one of people who needed help. despite the fact he did get eclipse glasses weeks in advance. still - he has symptoms of 'solar retinopathy.' he actually lost some vision - and is hoping it's not permanent. it wasn't until too late that he realized someone had sold him glasses that hadbeen 'voluntarily recalled.' they clearly weren't protecting him... jose moldanado - i was looking at the eclipse for about 20 minutes. i started realizing once i took the glasses off,
that everything was pretty hazy. and i thought - oh, that's not right. eye doctor - we're definitely getting people calling in with symptoms of solar retinopathy. that's when you look at the sun for prolonged periods of time. the doctor says lots of his colleagues are also seeing an influx of cases.they can provide some relief, but there's not that much they can do to fix the problems. symptoms include eye watering, spots, sensitivity to light and foggy vision. sometimes the damage is permanent. jose says it's believed that his vision will improve....but he's being closely monitored and it's too early to say if his sight will recover completely.. steve and pam?. another check on our four zone forecast... let's take a look outside right now...(pam) chief meteorologist brittney shipp joins us now with the forecast.
