(steve) investigators reveal that gunman stephen paddock stayed in another hotel in downtown las vegas before moving to the mandalay bay last week.they say they are not ruling out the possibility he may have had accomplicesand they say the cameras paddock set up in and around his hotel suite were not set to rrecord anything. (catherine) paddock's girlfriend, marilou danley - is reportedly cooperating with the f=b=i, but denying any

foreknowledge of the attack. her sisters in australia say paddock had surprised her in mid=september, by suddenly giving her a plane ticket to the philippines. they were very much in love? do you think that's why he sent her away?yes, yes. danley's sisters asked to remain anonymous as they spoke to australia's seven network.i think that's one of the reasons why he sent her away. danley left the u=s september 15th... flying to the philippines.she also spent three days in hong kong.during that time paddock reportedly wired 100=thousand dollars to an overseas destination.last night danley returned to l=a=x where she was met by federal agents.she was questioned today at the f=b=i's los angeles field office .no one, no one can put the pieces of the puzzle together except marilou, because stephen is not able to talk anymore. offficials have discovered that paddock began building his arsenal last october, buying as many as 33 weapons. in the past year the gunman purchased rifles, shotguns, and pistols. paddock checked into the mandalay bay last thursday.

hearing from more survivors of sunday's shooting rampage. one of them - has helped provide some comfort for a bay area family.(steve) his name is kody robertson and the shooting survivor is shedding light on what happened during the final moments of michelle vo. the 32 year old was among at least 58 people killed. her older sister cathy-- described her as a truly beautiful person with a bubbly infectious personality. today kody gave an emotional account of what happened to michelle--when gunfire erupted.

from a fremont couple who survived sunday's shooting. they were celebrating a wedding anniversaries---along with another couple. and shared what got them through the harrowing experience with kron-4's terisa estacio one of the members of this group i spoke with today is a fire fighter earlier this afternoon, i sat down with fire fighter david eastin and his wife and friends they told me they started planning back in may to celebrate their wedding aniversiares together.. but never did they think this would happen.this is the happy group a short time before the gun fire started raining down on them - killing and injuring people so close to them. britni eastin. we like to do things together, but this i never thought would be one of them. the couples have been friends for awhile. their anniversaires days apart. they both hae children the same ages. also along that night was jacquelines brother who had begged to tag along as you can hear and see in this video - as shots ran out, people were running wildly. the couples got separated, but

bay are asking for your help in identifying suspects who robbed people of their laptops and smart=phones from coffee shops. (catherine) kron 4's gabe slate joins us live from alameda where the city has had a rash of these types of robberies. gabe? i'm at a starbucks off webster street in alameda..this is one of two cafe's where laptops were stolen in snatch and grab thefts last night.the one here happened at 730pm. there has been 11 snatch and grab thefts, or attempts, of these types of devices over the last few months.police have released surveillance video from one of these incidents hoping the public can identify the suspects. if you recognize either one of these males believed to be in their teens or young 20's let alameda police know they are looking for them.on september 4th they did a snatch a grab of a laptop inside this starbucks on blanding avenue in is the part of

the video where they ran out with the laptop.10 minutes later that same day again in broad day light the duo enters a different starbucks in alameda off park street and does the same thing. this time each grabbing a laptop and running out. there has been 11 snatch and grab thefts of smartphones or laptops in alameda over the last few months. the last two taking place last night first at 7p at this pete's at 1901 webster in alameda where a laptop was stolen, and then 30 minutes later just a block away it happened again at this starbucks at 720 atlantic. police say the descriptions given by witnesses vary.. it may be the same people or group pulling off these crimes or it could be all different arrest has been made from a prior incident and they are hoping by releasing this surveillance video they will get more leads.police here are going undercover posing as cafe siting laptop users in hopes of catching the snatch and grab criminals. sound from john, pete's coffee customer -" this is a safe area"john sits and works on his notebook everyday here at the pete's off webster in alameda where the latest laptop theft took place.he says these snatch and grabs

the latest incident..happened on the peninsula.(steve) authorities determined san mateo high school was safe today after staff members discovered a threatening note written on a bathroom wall. and on monday in danville there was a graffiti threat aimed at monte vista and san ramon valley high schoolsit had been spray-painted on a footbridge near old blackhawk road. investigators say there was no evidence to indicate a real threat(steve) and last friday at redwood high in larkspur police investigated a graffiti message that threatened a shooting. it was found in one of the girl's bathrooms yesterday. there's been an increased police prescense on campus at redwood high. (steve) when most of us were asleep last night... police at s-f-o were in the middle of a mock terror attack drill.(catherine) they had already planned it -- but say the drill took on even more importance after thelas vegas massacre. emergency responders shut down part of the baggage claim area in terminal one. they simulated every possible scenario in the event of a terror attack at the airport. the federal government requires airports to do the

drills once very three years. but s-f-o chooses to them every year. travelers say they're glad the airport takes the drills so seriously. (catherine) today... san francisco's police chief and two supervisors announced their latest plans to fight the city's growing crime problem. police have already doubled the number of officers on foot patrol this year... but say it's not enough. police chief bill scott along with supervisors ronen and yee - talked about their crime-fighting strategies...including creating a new crime strategy unit to better identify serial criminals... (hillary ronen/district 9 supervisor): "i have the confidence in our police chief that he's going to implement this vision that he has not been implemented in this city for many years. the change is happening right now." property crimes in san francisco jumped more than 30% in 2015 compared to the year before. mass murder in las vegas remains a mystery tonight. we are learning a lot more about the gunman and his girlfriend and the investigation.(catherine) stephen paddock's girlfriend - marilou danley - is breaking her silence. telling investigators she had no idea he was planning an attack. her lawyer issued a statement in which she said she knew paddock as "kind ,caring, quiet man." tonight more people are coming forward to talk about paddock. . a texas firearms dealer who sold handguns to him in 20-10 and 20-11....says he remembers him coming into the shop last year with his girlfriend. he says paddock didn't buy anything on his most recent visit...but did ask how to modify a gun to make it easier to pull the trigger. the a-t-f says paddock bought 33 of his 47 guns in the past year and a former high school classmate - now a los angeles city councilman - remembers

paddock as having "irreverence toward authority." today investigators said that paddock had actually rented a room at the ogden hotel in downtown las vegas ... around the same time of another music festival. they're trying to figure out why. they also say he had an additional 16-hundred rounds of ammo and 50 pounds of explosives in his car. paddock had several cameras set up inside and outside his hotel room...but they were notrecording... (steve) a former bay area resident is being hailed a hero after saving the life of a man wounded during sunday's shooting massacre in las vegas (catherine) his name is james lawson. he grew up in concord, graduated from ygnacio valley high school back in 2006. however as kron4's haaziq madyun found out, a few of lawson's classmates were also at that concert...risking their lives to save others

(steve) as investigators look for the shooter's motive in the massacre congress is turning its focus to the nation's gun laws. senator dianne feinstein introduced legislation to ban "bump stocks" or the after-market product used to modify guns for rapid gunfire. twenty six of her democratic colleagues are on board. at least one house republican agrees... congressman bill flores on texas says he'll back a ban on bump stocks.

(catherine) a lawyer for a woman seen on video being dragged off a southwest airlines flight in maryland says she never claimed her allergy to dogs was life- threatening. an attorney for anila dau-latzai says that she agreed with crew members that she'd be fine with the dogs on the cross- country flightas long as they were at a distance. but she says other southwest employees told her to leave the plane. police were called and removed her forcibly... her lawyer also says the 46-year-old is pregant...and required medical treatment after the september 26th incident. general warming trend with dry weather through the end of

(catherine) governor jerry brown has signed a bill that could force wells fargo into court.(steve) the bill would require the bank to go to court over its fake accounts scandal. instead of settling dispute through arbitration. it only applies in disputes involving fraudulently created accounts at banks. so-called mandatory arbitration clauses are common in consumer contracts... but supporters of the bill say that shouldn't apply to accounts opened fraudulently. however this new bill won't help customers who have

thousands of people here tonight. there's also a very strong police and security presense. natsthrough out the day wednesday and into the evening hours, security was very tight in and around levis' stadium. natspolice from several local departments kept a watchfull eye as people arrived at the concert. security guards with the stadium were also spread out watching for problems. for security reasons, authorities are not saying exactly how many officers and guards are here tonight. sources have told kron 4 that there are also spotters on several of the tall buildings around levis stadium.goers we talked to said they appreciated the extra security. sotafter an event, security is usually heightened, so it's probably safer that normal. these coldplay fans also said they didn't want to let the tragic events of this past weekend to deter them from coming tonight.soti think if you live in fear it's not really going to do anything for you. it's just a matter of praying and being aware. i wasn't really concerned about it. i don think it has made me more heightened of my awareness. of course you
