101 between the 380 interchange near sfo and matadero creek in palo alto. the plan is to add a travel lane on the far right by connecting existing access lanes and turning them into a dedicated travel lane. caltrans would also turn the far left lane into an express toll lane. between 5 am and 8 pm. drivers would have to pay variable rates to use toll lane. caltrans has said they want to add the toll lane to encourage people to carpool or ride on busses. a new toll lane would also be another step toward creating a toll lane network all across the bay area, something that has been in the works for years. monday evening in redwood city, caltrans plan was met with approval and some skepticism.soti would have to think about it but it sounds like a good idea.soti think it's a bad idea. it's overcrowded as it is now. i'm not sure what a better solution would be but that would not be one of the solutions.soti'm old school. leave it like it is.if all goes well, caltrans will hopes to begin construction on the new lanes starting in 2019 and have them finished two years later.caltrans has also scheduled two public meetings on the plan in december. one in redwood city and another in san mateo. in san mateo county, charles clifford kron 4 news. ( james ) another big story we're following... more fallout after oakland raiders running back marshawn lynch refused to stand during the national anthem at sunday's game in mexico city. lynch did stand for the mexican national anthem. that caused president trump to call for lynch to be suspended. oakland mayor libby schaaf spoke to kron 4 about the president's reaction.
9:50 am
( james ) to watch the mayor's complete interview log on to kron4 dot com. ( james ) and this morning ... we also have reaction from raiders head coach jack del rio. kron 4's mark carpenter has the story. monday is an off day for the players, but jack del rio addresses the media. he usually prefers to stay away from political topics, however, he couldn't avoid being asked about a developing situation between his running back and the president of the united states. earlier this morning, president trump called the move a sign of 'great disrespect! and that the nfl should suspend him for the remainder of the season.' this afternoon-coach del riosaid he didn't really want to get into the politics of it all, but he did say that
9:51 am
his stance on the anthem hasn't changed jack del rio/raiders head coach: "i've told them how i feel. i love this country. i think it's a great honor to be able to play football, coach football for a living. my thought is that everybody should pay respect to the flag and stand at attention. that's how i feel about it. but it is america, and everybody can make their choice, and i've made that clear too. so anyway, that's that." del rio also added that he didn't want to get into the topic of whether or not lynch should be suspended. those close to lynch have come to his defenseincluding his mother and chiefs cornerback marcus peters, who said that he, marshawn and the president should sit down to talk about this entire situation.. ( terisa ) president trump might have something to say about this on twitter... he will ánot get a "thank you" from lavar ball.( james ) ball is the very outspoken father of liangelo... who was one of three u-c-l-a players accused of shoplifting in china. this all started last week... when the president questioned whether he would get any thanks for his role in the players' release.(terisa) on sunday... president trump tweeted that he "should have

left them in jail." now... ball is responding.. and he's minimizing president trump's involvement in the ordeal. "i don't have doubt abut what he did, i have doubt about what he didn't do.how's that?" "you have doubts about what he did and what he didn;t do?" "i'm goona tell you this.if i'm coming to get you out of trouble you best believe i'm gonna take you with me.did he help the boys get out, i don't know. if i was gonna thank somebody i would prpobably thank president xi. if i help somebody, i don;t alk around saying i helped you now... come on gfive me some love!... i helped you!""mr ball, thank you for being here with me on cnn tonight.""ahhh.""it doesnt take much to say thank you. why won't you say thank you to the president?""if spmebody does something for you then you say thank you." "somebody did something for you. say thank you.""okay, i would have said
9:53 am
thank you if he had put him on his plane and took him home...i'll send you some big baller merch." "send it because it's too expensive. i can't aford it." "tell donald trump to have a great thanksgiving! because big baller is!!" (terisa) ball's son and his teammates did express gratitude to president trump at a news conference. (terisa) a shortfall in supply is affecting prices of christmas trees this holiday season. they're in short supply thanks to the recession in the late 2000's. demand dropped during those years, leading to fewer seedlings being planted. trees grow about a foot a year -- so the biggest shortfall is in medium-sized trees of 6 to 8 feet. a 6-foot noble fir that cost about $69 last year may cost closer to $75 this year. tree farms are busiest the weekend after thanksgiving -- so either go on thanksgiving or on a weekday.
