caucuses set for this coming saturday at the candidates are campaigning hard in the silver state. >> over the weekend bernie sanders was in town and today it's hillary clinton's term. -- tom -- turn. >> reporter: some folks are waiting outside and they are lined up to see hillary clinton who is expected to speak around 12:30 pm. i am getting mixed signals as to whether she is running late because she had an appearance this morning at 9 am. this event may get canceled because she is going to be at the ncc later for a rally. people will be disappointed. the topic is going to be women's healthcare which is near and dear to her.

the caucus gets underway. the republicans have their caucus next tuesday but for now it is the democratic candidates turn to get out in front of the public. they are pushing into the home stretch to gain as many as they possibly can. healthcare in general is one of the topics that sets sanders and clinton apart. clinton supports the affordable care act and she would improve it. starting over would not be practical. sanders would like to see some sort of single-payer medicare universal health care coverage for all. clinton says that is not practical. we will get a one-on-one interview with hillary clinton later today and we will share that with you online as well as on our sister station starting at 4 pm today.

scalia has sparked a battle over whether or not president obama should appoint a successor. >> within hours of the announcement, republican and democratic leaders in washington were feuding over who should choose his successor. >> as condolences come in battlelines also being drawn over justice antonin scalia replacement. mitch mcconnell quickly making clear he wants the next president to choose the new justice. republican pick candidates -- candidates are following suit. in california president obama acknowledging scalia's death and promising to nominate a replacement soon. >> i plan to fulfill my constitutional responsibilities to nominate a successor. there will be plenty of time for me to do so.

we have a couple of quite days ahead of us but a winter storm is starting to make itself known on the seven-day forecast and in the last few minutes a winter storm watch has been issued for the sierra crest. it goes from 2 pm on wednesday until 4 pm on thursday. it will take a couple of more days to get here and in the meantime we have sun and clouds in the forecast with warm temperatures. earlier this morning the hayes was prevalent -- haze was very prevalent. 55 degrees in town cloudy skies winds are called -- calm.

western nevada. a mix of sun and clouds nothing showing up for radar. no precipitation and we will stay that way for today and then one more day before we watch the arrival of our next winter storm. it will arrive on wednesday for the sierra but for those of us in western nevada ballet the will take until about wednesday afternoon or evening. until then we are still dry and quiet. light winds sun shining clouds and warm temperatures highs in the 50s around lake tahoe. western nevada into the 60s today. typically an average february day would be in the low 50s. we will do it again tomorrow
