of rhode island where a suspect accused of killing a police officer in north carolina has been arrested. this is the man that we're talking about here. this is the video of a raid on a home in rhode island where police say that man was hiding. police say he opened fire on officer saturday night and killed him. he is in the hospital this morning being treated for a gunshot wound from that shooting in north after that he will be going straight to jail. >> krystal: for a local video you will only see on news 3. metro arresting those two street performers. they are accused of robbing tourist on the strip. according to people saying they've been harassed by them, just plain aggressive. what can we expect to happen today? >> in a matter of hours they

justice sent they are morning. i can tell you they are doing so because they used intimidation to get people hand over their money. the details from the police report they've made their money by taking photos with people on the las vegas stripment one woman told officers she felt forced to pay and that resulted in robbery. she grabbed one woman by the arm and pulled her close making her entire time until they paid the money they wanted. the two brothers told officers they've had issues with tourist in the past but only when boyfriends and significant

unsupervised when he got to school. school officials say they were following the rules here. the five-year-old got off the other students when he went to the playground. friends of the family recognized the boy, led him back to school a few minutes later. parents went to school to make sure this never happened again. >> i would like to see a plan by the school district as to how it intends to prevent this from ever happening again, ever. >> michelle: police still

should be done by thursday. the family may be allowed to move back in by the weekend. >> michelle: a guilty verdict for the case that has taken 7 years to go to trial. we've been following this for a while now. jurors found him guilty of killing his fiance. this goes back to 2009. took just a couple of hours to reach their decision for the jury. the decision was that he stabbed and killed robin in their home her family says [indiscernible] . >> one of the last words of my daughter to me before she was killed was -- i said what can i do. i knew she was in the room with her killer. i said what can i do and she said stay on the phone. and that brought us to this day

and heard everything. >> michelle: he is facing life in prison without parole. a sentencing hearing has been scheduled for tomorrow. >> krystal: a restaurant at the silver nugget open again after bed bugs. a pest management plan is in place to make sure it doesn't happen again. this after a customer posted pictures of the bites she received while eating there. those are pictures she snapped while she was eating. pest control workers believe the bugs may have been there for quite some time. >> michelle: a woman says county officials are trying to kick her out of a tree house she's living in. why they say she needs to get out and what she says she is going to do about this.

35 years after trying to kill the president. video vault takes a look at an odd side story that resulted here in vegas. tom has the details ahead. >> michelle: this is hard to watch. this happened in phoenix as a driver plows right into several police officers at a gas station. we'll show you that momenen jim dunlap: too many nevada police officers have been killed in the last few years. the truth is, we make it too easy for criminals and the dangerously mentally ill to buy guns. they get them at gun shows or online from strangers, no questions asked. so here's something we can do to honor the fallen: close the background check loophole. that will help prevent future cop killings. it works. in states that have closed the loophole, nearly half as many police officers have been shot and killed in the line of duty.

together to free a trapped woman from a wrecked car. this is in southern california monday night. the victim reportedly told the group another vehicle was swerved to avoid the car. her car flipped over several times. one of the rescuers used a pocket knife to cut the seatbelt. the woman who shot the video says the woman is expected to be ok. from what she could tell she was just shaken up but appeared to be all right.

she was walking on a sidewalk when she was hit and pinned up against a porch. police say that driver was taken into custody being held at a local hospital. police are still investigating what led up to that crash. >> krystal: three police officers injured early tuesday morning. this may be disturbing to watch. wants to give you a heads up here as they were standing outside of a gas station. the incident caught on the sull and you see that happening. a car just plows into the officers. throwing one several feet, another on the ground and another walking away and running after the person who did this. one of the officers, it was his first day of training on the job suffering a head injury. another officer has a broken leg and the third received minor injuries during a struggle with the driver.

another hearing is set for december. >> michelle: head of wells fargo division where employees opened unauthorized accounts is retiring at the end of the year. kerri is leaving but with a handsome payout of more than $124 million. a spokesperson said step made a personal decision to retire after 27 years with the company but would not c compensation. wells fargo agreed to pay 185 million in fines over fake accounts, millions of fake accounts. the bank announced it's getting rid of the sales goals for retail bankers who said those goals were part of the reason behind creating the false accounts because they felt so much pressure to meet those goals. a massive donation to support unlv football complex.

athletic departments there at unlv. let's go to craig live from unlv. this is important because it brings the team up to par with the other teams in its division now. >> anytime there is a gift like , this they can move forward more quickly than if they have to raise the money. the $10 million to the athletics program to help with the construction of a 732000 square foot two level football facility this. is a big deal for football at unlv. it will include a training center and academic area and media room. a massive complex. it will be built at the north end of the campus near the existing practice field.

shoot her 14-year-old step brother but instead another student interrupted her in the girl's restroom as that student was trying to run away she was shot in the lower back by the other girl. the girl with the gunshot and killed herself. they talked to almost all of the students at that high school and they say bullying was not a factor in the shooting. >> krystal: a 19-year-old from alabama is recovering after he hi the camel belonged to a couple who owns exotic animals. they were walking the animal monday night when she stopped in the middle of the road and would not move. one of the owners saw the truck coming and tried to stop the driver but it didn't work. she was put down after being looked ated at by a vet.
