waking up to snow this morning. we want to show you some incredible video of fog rolling over the hills yesterday. this is from a viewer...sending us this incredible time lapse video. greg, could we see more fog like this today? another low pressure system and cold front moves through the valley today. mainly cloudy skies and scattered showers will be common this afternoon with rain chances actually increasing into the overnight. high temperatures will stay to the low and mid 50s but the winds will be picking up through the morning and afternoon. heavy downpours are not expected but light to moderate the city. by tonight, those winds increase to 15-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. towards red rock and the spring valley winds will bleed into tomorrow as well with even greater chances for wide spread rain. new models have come out weekend. they are small chances but chatter throughout the weather first center. red rock still expects snow
all the rain and fog made for a real headache for travelers many people worried they would arrive late to ces which starts today. this is what the airport looked like just before midnight...packed with people. there was an average delay of about four hours for incoming flights because of the rain and cloud cover yesterday. some incoming flights were even cancelled. mccarran says yesterday is normally one of the busiest days of the year right before ces. breaking overnight... a terrifying situation for firefighters... who were forced to knock down... wall after wall...looking for

intruder. he says his rifle saved his life. "i was just hanging out right and i was kind of sitting low." joey imerti says this all happened monday evening near deer springs and decatur. we're told the crooks entered the home through this window they jimmied open. neighbors say the suspects staked out the home earlier in the day..and rang the doorbell for 10 minutes before breaking in. imerti fired several warning shots, but didn't hit the intruder. the whole thing has him on edge. democratic hopefuls are making their way to las vegas! and they have a full schedule today all three candidates will join the nevada state democratic party for a dinner at the m-g-m tonight. at "the sun city anthem center".... in henderson. then she's touring... the culinary academy of las vegas. bernie sanders has only been gone for about a week--but he's back...and holding an event at the tropicana hotel in the cohiba room. it starts at 4:45.
the public as for martin o'malley...he will join clinton and sanders at the first in the west caucus countown dinner tongiht. tomorrow he'll speak with the economic club of las vegas. new conerns this morning... armed protesters in eastern oregon say they're worried about the possibility of a federal raid. one arizona rancher thinks federal officials have issued warrants for the arrest of five members of the group...including it's leader ammon bundy. bundy is the son of cliven bundy...the nevada rancher who drew national attention back in 2014. that was after staging a standoff with federal authorities over using federal land for cattle grazing. the f-b-i in portland says it has no information on arrest warrants and they're still working on a peaceful resolution. the group is not backing down...still holed up inside this federal wildlife sanctuary.. which they seized.... over the weekend. now to an update to a story
power is back on..... at the madarin oriental this morning after it shut off early sunday morning. residents on about 20 floorswent about -48- hours without electricity. their power was just back on last night. management initially told action news the central power feed may have had a short in the duct.. sot chandler sherman, public affairs manager we were heartbroken that they made this choice to just rip the rug out from thousands of customers, thousand of employees frustration from solar city...as they closed their training facility that they just opened a month ago. it's all over new rate changes that just went into effect. they're essentially pushing companies like solar city to move out of state. thats because-- that new rate structure cut the price of green energy that the solar companies could sell back to the power companies. this increases bills...and makes solar less desirable. next week...some solar city workers will be pleading their case to commission members in hopes they'll reconsider the change. everyone is excited to see what

hit the road for a gun control town hall in virginia. the new gun control legislation is sparking debate right here in the valley. supporters of the executive action say it will close loopholes that unqualified buyers slip through at gun shows and online. for them, it's common sense and doesn't compromise anyone's rights others aren't convinced. " there is no correlation where the background checks prevent or reduce crime." those gun store owners in town say stricter background checks won't prevent criminals from getting their hands on guns. as the president pushes for stronger gun control measures...there are some interesting new numbers from the f- b-i. their data shows that gun background checks are actually at the highest number ever recorded. f-b-i background checks are often used as an indicator of sales trends...and they hit a record of over 3 point 3-million last month. this doesn't represent the total number of guns sold...just how many people
