after a wild crime spree in henderson. this all started last night when police say a man tried to steal a car at a sonic near boulder highway and lake mead. he was unsuccessful so he ran to a walmart nearby...and was able to steal a car. police tried to pull him over but crashed into two cars before bailing out. then the car crashed into the building. that's where the man was arrested. we're learning more about that c-c- s-d teacher accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student.

first time kristy yegge has been accused. we spoke with a woman who says she was sexually assaulted by yegge back in 20-12. we want to make it clear... yegge has not been charged in either incident. brittany freer says she considered yegge a friend before the sexual assault. she claims it happened when she went over to yegge's house and yegge gave her prescription drugs. she then fell asleep and she awoke to yegge undressing her. 11.08.49.00 "because i had taken such a strong combination of drugs, i was unable to do much, and then i remember putting my head down and blacked out after that." yegge has not been charged in either case...she was arrested over a month ago. ccsd says yegge remains assigned to her home. the district attorney's office says they are still reviewing first case involving a student. we did recieve a statement from yegge's attorney... it reads in part "the fact that metro closed its case without any charges against my client speaks volumes regarding the credibility of these allegations. my client is steadfastly

regarding these allegations, and i intend to defend her accordingly." we will post the full statement to ktnv.com breaking overnight...cars going up in flames all across the valley. police right now trying to figure out why. action news reporter parker collins is live near charleston and eastern --the site of hte latest fire. parker? you can see how bad it was. this van was hit worse... but that over there got burned too. happened around one thirty. no one got hurt. we heard unconfirmed reports that a person was seen running away from the scene. we kind of got that same story on the other side of town. i was just there... where another car caught fire.

later this morning . police on scene told me a witness saw a person running away from the burning car. i saw the gas tank was open and reporting live parker collins channel thirteen action news. to kill his neighbors to avenge the killing of his mother's pomeranian. now he's telling us his version of the story from behind bars deputies say paul applegate confessed to trying to gun down his neighbors last week. but applegate says that's not that case and that he was on drugs for that confession. "i was high on crack and i was high on meth. i did not do the shooting at all. all i know is i'm an innocent man being in jail." during our exclusive interview with the suspect -- applegate said he never went to his neighbor's home... never shot at their house.... and he was not trying to kill the guy.

of planning an isis terror attack is in court. take a look this is 25-year old emanuel lutchman... who was arrested for allegedly planning to attack a restaurant in rochester, ny on new years eve. he was charged yesterday with attempting to provide material support to the islamic state militant group, this morning he's facing a judge. a homeless man will spend decades in prison for murdering the wife of former firefighter... george tiaffay. noel stevens was sentenced to 42 years to life in prison. prosecutors say he beat shauna tiaffay to death with a hammer, back in 2012..for 5-thousand dollars. we spoke to shauna's sister.. who says.. she doesn't have compassion for the man who murdered her sister... but he was manipulated into committing the crime. paula stokes shauna's sister 13:09:55:25 "when noel testified, it was very clear to me how george was able to manipulate him. he was very childlike." last month...

the latest report from education week ranks nevada dead last i i education. meanwhile...the country as a whole didn't receive steller ratings either. the majority of states earn grades somewhere between a c minus and a c plus. here in nevada we received a no states have an a-grade overall. three states received b's...those are maryland...new jersey...and vermont. now to an action news update on nevada's school voucher program. the state's attorney general is filing a new legal move to stop a lawsuits over funding of the program. that lawsuit claims the program violates the nevada constitution. meanwhile...a district judge is delaying his decision on approving the program. if approved it would mean the state would pay thousands to parents for private school tuition. education savings accounts payments are schedule to being febraury first. through the accounts, parents can claim a portion of their child's per-pupil state education funding and use

choice. now to a story you asked us to investigate... an unpaved section of road is causing a real problem for people who live in the south west area of the valley. take a look at this video...rainbow just ends between cactus and moutain's edge parkway. francis rost told us about this issue. he says after n-dot finished the cactus interchange...creatin g an exit off i-15 at cactus...it brough a lot more traffic to the area. the quickest route to get where he needs to be would be to go o rainbow, north. 13.58.59 it looks like it's graded, it looks like it's been surveyed, but they just havent thrown in the curbs of paved it or whatever's required 59.05 and so i was hoping to try and find out what the hold up was 59.08 we looked into it and turns out this section of rainbow between cactus and mountain's edge parkway has always been unpaved. but the county says the project is in fact on their schedule. they expect to start the four-month paving project in may.

while sitting in his marked cruiser. he's in stable condition this morning after being shot three times in his left arm. the suspect repotedly fired a total of 13 shots that hit the officer. the shooting happened late last night and the suspect is behind bars. racist letters are showing up again in some spring valley mailboxes. authorities say they may have

please give police a call. nevada's only all-female owned and operated medical marijuana dispensary is set to open in the valley. sahara wellness will hold their ribbon-cutting ceremony at exactly 4:20 p-m tomorrow. it will be at their location at 420 east sahara. the dispensary will officially open on monday january 11th. the new powerball jackpot is now the largest in american history. that puts the jackpot at 7-hundred million dollars. the odds of winn are 2-hundred 92 million to one...but your odds are more likely to win a smaller prize! your odds are 1 in 2 something. donald trump is taking on a new opponent...
