it has been a long battle....but teachers in the clark county school district now have a new contract. action news reporter yasmeen hassan is here to breakdown it all down for us. we have seen months and months of rallies and protests... ....but all of that has come to an end. late last night - the district's board of trustees unanimously approved a new 2-year contract for teachers... ....and everyone seems to be onboard. c-c-s-d and the teachers union were both tweeting about the news... saying congratulations - an agreement has finally been reached. now - as for that agreement - here's what it boils down to.

parents and students had the chance to share their opinion about breaking up ccsd, the 5th largest school district in the nation. parents and teachers have mixed feelings about all of it. "i question how many changes will really be made because of it." according to the arrest report for daron clanton... daron told his father kevin there were no grades because he hadn't been enrolled in classes for over year. daron then saw his father coming out of the office..he says he got scared and ran to the master bedroom and grabbed. daron says kevin was still walking towards him so he opened fire. the report says daron didn't warn his father he was going to shoot if he didn't stop walking toward him....and never tried to run. he is facing murder charges this morning. a confrontation turns deadly leaving one mand dead...one fighting for his life...and the shooter on the run. this all happened around 8 p- m last night near washington and rancho. police say a man in his 70's was shot multiple times in a driveway. another man was also shot...police think he could be his son. that younger man is in critical condition right now with a gunshot wound to the head. police say the pair came here to confront someone....then things turned deadly and the shooter took off.

off the coast of hawaii. take a look -- we were just able to get this map for you of where they're searching for these downed choppers. it's specifically off the north shore of the hawaiian island of oahu. the crash happened within these past few hours... and right now there are searchers who have found a fire and a debris field.... cnn is reporting they've found an empty life raft so things not looking that good right now i'll keep you posted as we get developments. in the race for the white house republican hopefuls duked it out on the debate stage last night. it was one of their last high profile opportunities to sway voters before the first caucus.

he hey ho ho rahm emanuels got to go protests erupted in chicago...once again... with chants for the mayor to resign... after the release of a graphic new video that shows the final moments of 17-year-old cedric chatman's life. we want to warn you--the video may be disturbing to some. a federal judge ordered for this video to be released yesterday. chatman was unarmed and running away from officers when he was fatally shot four times.... back in 2013. it all began after chatman...a carjacking suspect...got out of a car and ran from police. officers say chatman was pointing a dark object at them and they shot in self defense... the object turned out to be a black i-phone box. police officers have not faced criminal charges and still hvae their jobs. they are facing a wrongful death suit from chatman's family. new this morning... the governor of michigan is

emergency over the flint water crisis and the state's attorney general is investigating meanwhile people there are protesting....calling for the governor to resign. about 1-hundred demonstrators from flint and detroit marched into the state capitol yesterday demanding change. they say the state's leader ignored flint's lead contaminated water problem for too long. now there's another problem this morning....officials are investigating whether a legionnaires outbreak in flint could also be linked to the water! people in flint still can't drink the water there...they have to either use filters of drink bottled water. those people are getting help...several grass-roots agencies, volunteer groups and the national guard are donating water and filters. that's not the only problem facing the state of michigan this morning... for the second time this week several teachers in detroit just didd't show up for work! teachers are calling it a "sick- out" it's basically a strike by teachers who called in sick to the school in
