police officer pepper spraying a crowd of students at el dorado high school. the officer was trying to arrest an -8-th grader..... for tresspassing on high school property... and... his sister got involved. action news anchor... jacqui heinrich breaks down the video for us... this video shows the moment a clark county school district police officer took out his pepper spray and hit the crowd, dispersing the students surrounding his squad car. school authorities said it all began when an 8th grade student was caught trespassing at the high school...was told to

when the kid's sister got involved, thats when the crowd gathered, heckling the recording everything on their phones (nats screaming) "what made you want to pull out your cell phone? that he was hitting him" at about :14 seconds can see what appears to be a rock hits the officers head...right before he pulls out the pepper spray. however another video shot from a different angle...does not show that rock....although its not clear if the second video was taken at the same time as the first...if not....that could indicate the officer sprayed the students before he was hit....or contined to do it afterwards. school police made no mention of a rock in a statement released to action news describing what happened. some students are still upset..having been suffering with burning eyes and throats for hours. evidence "erase it right now" that was action news anchor jacqui heinrich... we did show this video on our earlier newscasts ... and had a lot of calls and emails coming in defending the officer. "i saw like four guys in the car with the trunk open and i see them carrying this big flat-screen tv." a teenage boy who was in the right place at the right time helped catch four burglars in northwest las vegas. the middle school student was out of school early yesterday when he saw four strangers carrying televisions out his neighbor's house. he called police and they soon spotted the suspect's car. while the suspects were driving to get away from the officers...they crashed at cheyenne and rancho -- not too far from the burglarized home. they hit and injured three child. three of the suspects were hurt as well and all six people went to the hospital. they're all expected to be

the u-s marines are still looking into what caused the collision. new this morning... the surviving boston marathon bomber must pay his victims more than 101 million dollars. that ruling coming from a case of dzhokhar (joke-har) tsarnaev (sar- nai-yev). restitution payments to the 49 victims and their families must begin immediately. the judge also denied the for a new trial. tsarnaev was sentenced to death for the april 20-13 attack that killed three people and wounded more than 40 others. now to oregon.. where an armed standoff at a federal wildlife refuge continues... the armed occupiers are now claiming the government is using cameras to spy on them... they say they removed two cameras that were installed on a power pole. they also say there are at least two other locations where cameras have been put up. their message to the government is "stop doing that!"

video out of mexico... an explosion looking more like a scene out of a hollywood blockbuster. the powerful blast happened at a restaurant in mexico city.. and hurled large pieces of debris onto a busy street. nearly a dozen people were injured. investigators believe it was caused by a gas build-up inside the restaurant that somehow ignited. "i couldn't see a thing" "i've never been through a tornado so i was very scared" people living in fort up this morning after a tornado touches down in their community.... many people described the e-f-1 twister as sounding like a train.... you can see some of the damage here.... roofs being torn off of alot of homes were destroyed... trees were uprooted from the ground.... we got a good part of the tornado..if we didn't get the full brunt of was very ver bad..winds were very strong. the twister touched down just before 5 yesterday evening.... luckily there were no injuries

one of the three winning ticket holders came forward.... john and lisa robinson arrived at the tennessee lottery office yesterday to claim their share of the jackpot.. with the winning ticket they purchased in munford. in california.. a nurse employed at this nursing home thought she was one of the jackpot winners. now.. she's learning it was a prank.. apparently instigated by her own son. the owner of the nursing home bought 18-thousand tickets for his staff and residents.. including the one they thought was a winner. that nurse is apparently now in need of some r and r. shlomo rechnitz sot: what i was thinking was sending her on a vacation to a destination of her choice. another jackpot winner is reportedly wholed-up in his home in melbourne beach, florida.. just south of cocoa beach. the winner lives a mile from the publix supermarket where the lucky ticket was sold.

positively las vegas.... -20- thousand glow sticks lit up the basketball courts..... at "brookman elementary school"... last night each of these glow sticks represent..... a book that was read by the by comedy magician... adam london. his wife actually created.... "the reading makes us bright program"... at the school. it was unbelieveable...we have read over 21 thousand books they exceeded our expectations again by putting this glowstick chain together in an hour and a half. the students connected all of those glow sticks..... in about an hour and a half.... the group plans to submit video of the event.... to guinness..... in hopes of breaking the current world record... which is about -98- hundred glow sticks. and.... a sign of the improving economy.... here in the valley... a groundbreaking ceremony was held for a new.... resort-style apartment complex....

the suspect was eventually caught.. and loaded into an ambulance while chopper-13 was overhead. it's still unclear how he was injured. investigators are now looking for a possible connection to a series of 'night owl' break-ins we've told you about at restaurants around the valley. dozens of people living at a valley apartment complex say they spent more than a week without hot water. when you ask.. we investigate. the residents at canyon pointe say the hot water stopped flowing in a handful of buildings on january 5th and wasn't back on until the 13th. southwest gas tells action news a construction crew hit a line and they couldn't turn the gas back on until it was fixed. but residents say they had no communication from management.. and they've only been offered 10-dollars for the week without hot water. john hamilton lives in canyon pointe 17.07.08 the most upsetting fact is that they really didnt keep us informed 12 they didn't keep us informed 13 a manager from canyon pointe called us but refused to comment. we then reached out to to the management company..

it's time to upgrade. microsoft has ended support for the original release of its poorly-received operating system. the company says all users should upgrade to windows eight-point-one, or windows ten. the end of support means the 50 million or so worldwide windows eight users will no longer get updates to block viruses and hackers. last year's release of windows ten was met with widespread praise, and all windows eight users can upgrade for free. finally a very cool scene all caught on camera in florida....two women just taking pictures on the dock capture a dolphin jumping over two paddle boarders...take a look...
