after a nasty crash. take a look of this video showing the aftermath.. of the accident at centennial center and tropical. officers say the car and the motorcycle collided around 11 last night. you can see the bike is pretty banged up. metro says the rider was taken to the hospital, and is expected to be okay. the woman accused of causing that horrific deadly crash on the strip last month... is now facing 71 charges-- including attempted murder. in her less than 5 minute hearing, the judge gave lakeisha hollaway two charges for each of the 34 people who were hurt, along with the 32 year old arizona woman who was killed. they also tacked on a child abuse and neglect charge, because one of the victims was just 11 years old. three people are still recovering in the hospital. joseph abood, defense 2:11:47-2:11:52 "there are a lot of charges, but none of them are things that we didn't anticipate holloway is due back in court in two weeks... until then, her attorneys say

"if this has been going on for months, you know, they could have provided documentation as to what was going on then let me make the decision instead of signing a 20-year lease." it's going to get a huge safety upgrade. county commissioner maryland kirkpatrick will turn the new traffic signal on at 6-30. this intersection has been notorious for serious and fatal crashes. parker collins is there talking with leaders. he'll show us the ceremony as it happens live! another community is fighting for streetlights in their neighborhood to be fixed.. because they're tired of being left in the dark. car crashes early last year knocked down street lights at buffalo and gomer... and buffalo and blue diamond, and they still haven't been fixed. it is right next to a very busy crosswalk 14 that does not have any signal or lights associated with it 20 so it is very dangerous to have that not lit up properly 24 we reached out to the developer, who says their first priority was to fix downed lights along buffalo...

staying true to our name, action news gets results for the community concerned about squatters taking over a vacant business in the area... this morning, there are boards up to keep the squatters out of the property near sahara and maryland parkway. people at neighboring businesses tell us the homeless people tookover after a re-model about a month ago. county commissioner chris giunchigliani was there as the repairs were being made, and she says the county needs to be more aggressive in dealing with squatters. chris giunchigliani clark county commissioner 18.11.43.00 "i've directed building department. i do not want any extensions in time. i want them fined, and i want them to have to, we'll pay for it and then get the money back out of them if they want to be that type of a lousy owner." we spoke with the other business owners who say they do feel a lot safer now that they know the problem is being taken care of. the battle between people living in peccole ranch, and faith lutheran is over... and it's the school who's celebrating a victory this

nevada rancher ammon bundy are now saying they have no plans to leave the wildlife refuge they've taken over in oregon. the group says the fbi and other federal authorities are "terrorizing" the community, and that their armed militia... will act as protectors for them. they now call themselves "citizens for constitutional freedom." the militia has been calling for oregon ranchers to stop paying the blm, like cliven bundy did here in bunkerville. local law enforcement has not responded to the groups saying that they will not be leaving. with all the recent shootings across the country, some small businesses here at home are taking precautions... and making sure they're prepared for the worst.

while we're talking money... a new report from from state auditors says.. cab riders were over charging people last year by a whopping 47- million dollars! auditors say they discovered cabs were charging 3-dollars for riders to use a credit card.. when it shouldn't be more than 90-cents. also.. rates were increased even as gas prices were coming down. the taxicab authority says they will be discussing the new findings. that report comes as the las vegas city council makes a move to tack-on more fees for ride-sharing companies like uber and lift. councilmembers approved a new ordinance to require a 50-dollar semi- annual fee for each active driver. that works out to 10-thousand dollars a year for each 100 drivers they employ. new this morning.. we are now learning the exact day las vegas headliner celine dion will return to the stage. the singer is scheduled to resume her residency at caesars

mess with a mama! a florida woman had to fight off a trio of men trying to steal her car! at first they tried to get in, but she locked all the doors. then, they move onto another car... and then try to come back. one of the guys made it into the passenger seat, but the mom was able to pull the other one out.
