tell you what's happening that could affect your morning commute. right now...13-hundred more flights cancelled today across the country because of the blizzard of 20-16. we're on our way to the airport to check out delays for you. good morning las vegas...we'll have more on the east coast clean up in just a second. but first let's get to some breaking news. an overnight fire...near washington and the 15. officials say the fire started outside an apartment building and didn't get inside. fortunately no one was injured. these fires just adding on to the five fires that happened over the weekend. right now...we have a reporter on the way to another fire in henderson... we'll have the latest coming up at five on three people who were displaced from a house fire there. right now...as the east coast is digging out from a record-breaking storm...travelers around the country are still feeling the impact. there are over 13-hundred flights cancelled already this morning... today airlines are trying to make up for the 14-thousand

that were cancelled over the weekend. it's uderstandable...new york city got 26 inches of snow...washington d-c had 22 inches...but glengary west virgina gets the award for the most snow. they saw 42-inches over the weekend. across the east...roofs collapsed...travelers were stranded on highways...but people also had some fun with the snow. now crews are concerned about removing the snow...and black ice on the roadways. here's a live look at washington d-c right now snow is piled up. you can see crews are alread trucking all the snow out of there trying to clean up. i'll be tracking the latest on flight delays all morning long...and we have a reporter headed to the airport. let's get over to greg with a check on our weather here in

looks like a small upper level disturbance will slide south through california and southern nevada this morning. high level clouds will be the outcome of this weather pattern anything more than high level broken clouds is not expected. mostly sunny skies will be pressure build over the valley through the next several days. this will keep skies mainly clear and allow temperatures to climb gradually to the mid and upper 60s! by friday/saturday high temperatures will be at saturday night to mainly cloud this is the seventh day in the seven day forecast so lot can change from now to then. it will be monitored closely within the weather first center throughout the week! new this morning...

intersection is still blocked off this morning. police say 35-year-old dierdre dillard ran a red light at that intersection...crashing into one car...then another. the passenger in the first car involved is in the hospital this morning with moderate injuries. police tell us the 74-year-old woman should survive. the woman who ran the red light was arrested for d-u-i. only on action news ... we're getting a look at cell phone video showing the moments after a vacant complex overrun by squatters...goes up in flames! "fire department is here again." it's the third time the buildings near sahara and industrial have caught fire. this video was taken moments after an oxygen bottle exploded yesterday. firefighers battled the thick black smoke and flames for 30 minutes. in november... action news got a tour of the damage... after squatters started a different fire ! despite bars,

property... managment says squatters keep breaking in! action news even spotted people in tents living outside the property! "they kind of moving into our property now, (not much you can do?) uh, not much i can do buildings to be torn down. the damage this time was about 150 thousand dollars. this morning a family is relieved after their teen escaped when their house caught on fire! this all happened last night near jones and the 95. firefighters responded to reports of smoke...and neighbors saw flames shooting out of the first floor. crews had it out in about ten minutes. thankfully the teen was not hurt a deadly crash leaves a motorcycle rider dead this morning after crashing into the back to a semi. this happened yesterday on the 15 near the valley of fire....the rider was pronounced dead at the scene. three vehicles were involved in this crash...but authorities are still trying to figure out what caused it. right now police are trying to figure out who they fired on in front of the bellagio friday

jail...but they are calling him john doe. we were when this story broke friday night. police say that man started waving a gun at people in front of the bellagio. officers fired at least two shots...missing the suspect but grazing two innocent bystanders--one of them a juvenile. if you know who this guy is, police need to hear from you right away. three new medical marijuana shops are creating more than 100 new jobs to the valley. the dispensaries...called bloom are set to open in march and they're looking to hire now. just yesterday hundreds of people showed up to apply for jobs from a "bud tender" to delivery drivers. if you couldn't make it..you can still apply online. ahead today... solar customers hoping for some great news. the public utitlities commission is considering grandfathering in old rates for current rooftop solar customers. they're holding a hearing 9:30 this morning. they could make an announcement by 11.

morning after an american airlines flight had to make an emergency landing in canada. this all happened last night on a flight from miami to milan italy. they had to land in canada after severe turbulence. three flight attendants and four passengers went to hospital with injuries. right now public schools in detroit are expecting another major sickout. union leaders say teachers are calling in sick to protest dirty classrooms and large class sizes. just last week more than 80 schools closed because of teachers calling in sick. ousted union president steve conn and his supporters are

"you cannot be shooting off your mouth when you're the president of the united states. you need to be careful, thoughtful, be reliable in what you say."
