it was non stop for fire crews in henderson, las vegas and the county... trying to put out fire after fire. the latest one... left a family of three without a place to call home this morning.. parker collins is at the scene near lake mead and warm springs. parker? that's right. this one actually has two people and a kid homeless right

the red cross is helping them get back on their feet this morning. seven fires actually happened since saturday. many caused by squatters. one just broke out a few hours ago. action news is the only station with this cell phone video showing an apartment fire caused by squatters. you can see in this cell phone video how hard firefighters have to work... no end of the valley is immune. so they were everywhere this weekend. i just spoke with firefighters... they're telling me this is just how some weekends are for them. reporting live parker collins channel thirteen action news. the manager of that apartment complex says this is the third time squatters have caused the building to go up in flames... take a look at this video our crews took back in november, showing the aftermath of another fire caused by squatters. the manager says he's despite the high fences with bars and locks... he can't keep them out. danny sanchez, manager, tam apartments "they kind of moving

suspicion of driving drunk i. thanks dayna.. meanwhile, n-h-p is trying to figure out what caused a motorcycle rider to crash into the back of a semi truck... killng him. this happened yesterday morning around 11-30, on the i-15 near valley of fire. 3 cars total were involved in the crash. the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. right now.. metro needs your help identifying the man who officers opened fire on friday night, in front of the bellagio. they gave us this picture of him... he's in a jail cell this morning, but police can't charge him if they don't know who he is. metro says friday night, the man was walking in and out of traffic waving a gun at people. when oficers got to him, they say he refused to listen to his commands. they opened fire. the suspect wasn't hit, but two bystanders... oneo of them a child... were grazed by the gunfire. if you think you know who he is... please call police. time now is x:xx --- up next... the fight over the solar

four stories down to the ground. the escapees include a suspected murderer, plus two others charged with attempted murder and kidnapping. the family of one of those inmates is now speaking out to abc... with this emotional plea for their loved one. "please just turn yourself in. don't let this drag on! (cries)" police are trying to figure out how the inmates were able to pull off this escape, and if they had inside help. bad news for ammon bundy this morning... him and his armed militia were supposed to hold a meeting

bad news for ammon bundy this morning... him and his armed militia were supposed to hold a meeting today with the community in oregon, but the judge who was hosting it cancelled because of safety concerns. the judge said law enforcement heard about plans to protest the meeting, and block the entrance to the senior center where it was going to be held. for three weeks now, bundy and his supporters have taken over a wildlife refuge there. oregon's governor says she wrote letters to the president, the attorney general, and the fbi... asking them to end the standoff. 5 million more cars are now being added to the list of vehicles recalled because of takata airbags. the move comes after a 10th death is linked to the japanese company's faulty airbags. the company released a statement offering condolences to the victim's family. takata has struggled for years since it was discovered its inflators were defective. the bags can explode when activated, firing out shards of metal and glass. time now is x:xx ---

look at this-- a flight here arriving from dc cancelled-- and over here from new york-- also cancelled. according to flight aware dot com-- there are four cancelled flights out of mccarran today-- and ten flights cancelled coming into mccarran today. those are mainly flying to and from jfk airport in new york-- and newark in new jersey. but the cancellations travelers are seeing today-- still less than over the weekend. over 30 flights cancelled flying in and out of mccarran on friday-- over 30 flights cancelled on saturday as well. most of those-- flying in and out of affected airports on the east coast. overall-- more than 12 thousand flights were cancelled nationwide over the weekend. but also according to flight aware-- there are no arrival or departure delays. the medical marijuana industry is growing fast here in the valley...

now they're looking for new employees! "terra tech" is opening three new dispensaries this march, and the owner says they're looking for about 125 workers. yesterday they held a job fair to find some canididates, but if you're interested, you can still apply online. there's 7 different positions... everything from a "bud-tender" to delivery drivers. richard scavone's trial is scheduled to begin on march 22nd. if convicted, he faces up to 30 january... scavone was fired in september. we're now learning the identity of the man who was shot and killed while riding his bike early saturday morning... the coroner identified the victim as 23 year old arthur colwell from las vegas. metro says colwell was on his bike near owens and marion around 4 in the morning... when a black pickup truck pulled up next to him. that's when someone opened fire, hitting the man. then the truck sped away. police are still searching for that gunman. allegiant airlines has a new c-o-o this morning... after their previous one suddenly resigned last week. the airline promoted their senior vice president of planning to the position "chief operating officer." recently, the airline's safety record has been coming under fire, after several incidents and emergency landings. the company says they will use the leadership change-- "as an

operational needs and areas for improvement." new overnight... we're getting to hear from passengers on board an american airlines flight... that hit such bad turbelence.. people had to be rushed to the hospital! the plane was headed from miami to italy... when it hit the severe turbulence. listen to passengers describe the terrifying scene. karen and jordan case/passengers just kind of rolled on the side and everything went flying and people... it was pretty nerve-racking... and yeah, so it was pretty intense."
