morning. right now, police are looking for his killer and they need your help. cops were called out to a home near civic center drive in north las vegas around 4 thirty yesterday afternoon..with reports of shots fired. they arrived to find the 18-year-old boy dead. police don't have a description to work with but they say somebody had to have witnessed it. sot: ann cavaricci, north las vegas police we're in a residential neighborhood, there were a lot of people around here. so we're hoping if they saw something or heard something they'll call us. police say it's crucial they get tips before too much time passes. if you have any information, call police. could the oakland raiders be relocating to las vegas? it's
here in the valley and nationwide. a big meeting is scheduled for today between executives from las vegas sands and the owner of the raiders. they're discussing the possiblity of bringing the team and a billion dollar stadium to our city. the conversation centers around a 42- acre piece of land near tropicana and paradise that u-n-l-v bought. though many of us hope this is true...there's some naysayers...including sports anchor larry beil from our scripps affiliate in san francisco but because of the gambling association i dont think the nfl is ever going to allow the raiders or anybody else to move to las vegas the raiders are looking to move from oakland because they're in need of a new stadium. san antonio, los angeles, san diego and now las vegas are all in the mix. we'll, of course, keep you updated on any developments with this story. only on action news...we go

a valley woman is making a desperate plea for help to get answers in the shooting death of her son. in the shooting death of her son. karen brill is personally offering a 100-thousand dollar reward for anyone who comes forward with information leading to the conviction of the teenager's killer. her 16-year old son aric.. was murdered in 2009 at a house party near charleston and hollywood. police say gang-members were waiting outside the house to rob the party guests. aric was robbed and shot to death. karen brill victim's mother "a conviction will never heal our hearts or put our lives back together, but it'll bring us some relief in our daily thoughts and our fear that this person will kill again. brill says she plans to sell her home to get the money for the reward.

just another reminder to keep your packages safe. the red cross helping an adult and child after a fire destroyed their apartment. clark county fire responded to the fire near warm springs and rainbow around 7 thirty last night. there was alot of damage to the apartment and surrounding units had some smoke damage. thankfully, nobody was injured. an exact cause hasn't been determined. we've now learned the name of the officer involved in a shooting this week near pecos and bonanza. he's been indentified as officer samuel solorio. the suspect was shot when he pointed a gun at officers after a chase. that suspect did suffer minor injuries in the shooting. the 39-year-old has been with metro since 1998. solorio has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of a review. ahead today... a brand new va clinic is set to

in a brief filed this week.. the state wants the group "educate now" to pay a $239,000 bond. the state would then be eligible for the bond money if a court overturns a hold.. placed on the education savings accounts program. the program lets parents claim more than $5,000 in state education funds each year for private school tuition. some good news for the valley's economy. the latest numbers show the local jobless rate continues to trend downward. state officials say the unemployment rate in las vegas fell slightly last month to 6 point 2 percent. the state's jobless rate also fell to 6 point 4 percent. vo vermont senator bernie sanders is under fire from officials with the local culinary workers union. they say some of his staffers have tried to gain access to their members by getting into casino employee dining rooms. union officials say the staffers falsely claimed an affiliation with the union. no response to the allegations from the sanders camp.
60-thousand people and is considered a major force in nevada politics. now to the latest on that manhunt for three inmates who escaped from a california jail. 5 people are now in custody in connection with the jailbreak. one of the suspects worked at the prison as a teacher. law enforcement believe she helped the inmates get away. investigators have a strong belief the three got away in this stolen van. it's believed the teacher provided one of the inmates with items such as google maps to help them get ready for their escape, but right now, she's denying all those claims. to a developing story out of ohio. the state's environmental protective agency is warning parents and students at an elementary school not to drink the water. they believe it's possibly contaminated with lead. the district has shut down the drinking fountains as a precaution. school officials in chagrin falls say they're getting mixed messages. they were actually told by the epa the water was safe back in november.
