house was on fire just a few hours ago... ....but this story goes back months. this house was the scene of a gruesome murder. you are taking a look at this flames that broke out overnight... ...but you may remember... back in november - a fire started at this exact house while 4 people were in there - and a baby. two women were bound....duct taped...and badly burned. one man was stabbed...and another died inside the house. no arrests were ever made. as for this latest fire - investigators say the house is vacant. it's still too early to say if this was arson... ...but neighbors tell us they have seen a lot of suspicious

live yasmeen hassan 13 action news. also breaking overnight overnight...a gas leak near tropicana and boulder highway had an intersection shut down for hours. this was the scene just after midnight. crews told our photographer that a line broke.. so they were out all night working to fix it. roads were blocked off clear up until this morning, but it looks like everything is back to normal now. this morning... metro is investigating two separate shootings that happened around the same time, but in different parts of the valley. the latest one was around 8 last night... near revere and carey. we're told a woman in her 30's was found with a gunshot wound. she was rushed to umc with serious injuries. we are working to get more details like a suspect description, or motive.. from police.. the other shooting happened at an apartment complex near maryland parkway and hacienda. the victim was taken to sunrise hospital, but we don't know how bad their injuries are. metro says the gunman is still on the loose, and they are actively searching for them.

recovering this morning, after being rushed to umc for possible heat exhaustion. the firefighter was responding to a house up in flames near rainbow and wigwam last night. no one inside was hurt, and crews were able to put the blaze out quickly. at last check, that firefighter was in stable condition. its been 5 years since a 15 year old girl was kidnapped and brutally murdered... in a shocking turn of events, the man charged with killing her-- pleads guilty. javier righetti's attorney says he decided to spare everyone a long trial. prosecutors say back in september 20-11, righetti abducted alyssa otremba, while she was walking home from arbor view high school. that's when he sexually assaulted her and stabbed her, before setting her body on fire. otremba's mother is glad he finally decided to take responsibility for her daughter's death... but she has no compassion for him. "i have a hard time considering his life because he didn't consider my daughter's life or my family." next month, a jury will decide

executed. today...the woman accused of driving her car into crowds of people on the strip is due back in court. we'll see if it's a less eventful court appearance for lakeisha holloway. last time around, she was so unruly they couldn't even bring her inside. holloway is facing 71 charges, including attempted murder for the crash back in december that killed a woman and injured more than 30 others. tonight... hillary clinton and bernie sanders will be here in las vegas-- hoping to boost their support, and break their virtual tie in nevada. even though the numbers show they're in a dead heat. both candidates are confident they'll be victorious on saturday. investigators are combing through the wild life refuge in oregon. they've found explosives...trenches and guns. investigators are concerned

two dog owners caught on camera last month, after one womans pit bulls... killed the other's chihuahua. this morning, the owner of the tiny dog says she's finally getting justice. yesterday there was a hearing at animal control about the pit bulls, but their owner didn't show up. now the dogs are officially considered dangerous. the woman has to follow some rules soon, or the pits will be put down. ann marie white, pit bull owner 19:53:06-19:53:11 "they're my only friends. i'm paranoid cause i'm bipolar and i don't trust nobody. they're the only people i trust is those dogs." the woman says she will do whatever it takes to keep her dogs. time now is x:xx --- up next... a community says they are living in fear because of all the crimes happening around them! like every other day there's a break-in or a robbery or a shooting outside my work. it's supposed to be a community over here and it's like you don't even want to walk outside." now metro is finally coming to their rescue, and they hope this will help them catch criminals faster!

we're showing you surveillance video.. capturing the moments after bags of dead animals were found on the side of the road. around 4 in the morning on tuesday... you see a car driving near lake mead and lamb. then it looks like bags fall out ofthe car. several hours later patrol officers show up and drag the bags to the side. officers leave the scene, and don't come back for another 6 hours! animal activists are concerned this delay could have hurt the case. "it contaminates a crime scene and then maybe people who saw soemthing then you know witnesses possible leave." officers say they called animal control before leaving the scene. right now, they're trying to figure out if this is a case of illegal dumping, or if the cats were killed first. the man accused of stabbing a metro k-9 officer in the head

is getting ready for his first court appearance. tolavious timmons is facing multiple felony charges, including mistreatment of a police animal. as for his victim, nicky.. his partner tells us the dog is happy and healthy. nicky was sent in to take down timmons after he stopped responding to swat negotiators. metro says nicky never even cried or wimpered when he was attacked by a machete. take sot sgt kerns, metro he's a very good police dog, he's a very courageous dog, he's been up against some tough suspects, some big intimiand he doesn't care his partner says nicky is eager to get back to work. that should happen in about 3 weeks. an elderly woman tied up in her henderson home and robbed... and the people responsible are still out there this morning. officers tell us early yesterday morning, some men broke into the woman's home
