dry air has taken over and an area of high pressure is beginning to develop. this means mainly sunny skies and a stable atmosphere will take over the southern nevada area today through the weekend and into next week. it will also allow us to gradually increase temperatures back to the mid and upper 70s through the weekend; keeping above normal. today, highs will range from 69 to 74 degrees.

with the occasional 15-20 mph gust through the afternoon. by sunday, high temperatures break back into the mid and pressure gathering strength through this time. breaking overnight... people staying at westgate the strip were left in the dark for hours and hours. we're told this all started just after mignight. machines shut down. the lights went off and the emergency lights came on. litsten to one person describe the chaos. 16:46:55:22 "the fire alarm, the noise was very intense and their nightgowns, their pajamas. some people even came down with their suitcase" the witness says people were very upset they couldn't collect their money. fire crews tell us smoke was reported near the dining area on the 2nd floor. they believe it was caused by electrical issues. hotel employees tell us they are working to make things right with their guests. a hard night for our police officers.

by sunday, high temperatures break back into the mid and pressure gathering strength through this time. a juvenile is now facing charges... for brutally killing and mutilating several swans and sucks at desert shores park. people in the area reached out to us, after finding the dismembered animals, and now they're glad the person responsible has been found, and they're hoping they get the maximum punishment. "i'd say shame on you and you should pay for it for killing those innocent animals! i don't care cause you're young. cause you know better. you know between right and wrong." the juvenile suspect is due in court next week. bunkerville rancher cliven bundy will be brought back to nevada to face his federal charges. a judge just approved the order yesterday. bundy was scheduled to appear in court in portland today. the head of the bundy family has been formally charged on 16 counts... stemming from his stand off with the government in 20-14. it's not known yet exactly when the rancher will be back in nevada.

this morning... the man accused of waiving a gun at people on the strip will be back in court. a judge is expected to decide if kahleal black is mentally fit to stand trial. police say he was threatening people with a gun in front of the belaggio last month. officers ended up shooting at him, but he wasn't hit. black's attorney requested the mental health evaluation after his last court appearance, where he had to be bound and his mouth was covered. vo lakeisha holloway, the woman charged with driving her car into crowds of people on las vegas boulevard will also have to have a competency hearing. yesterday, she refused to go to court for the second time. she's facing 71 felony charges including, murder.. attemped murder, and battery with a deadly weapon. she's due back at the courthouse for her hearing on march 11th. an accounting business, a home and a government building all raided by fbi agents... we don't know exactly why, but we do know it's being called a "public corruption" investigation. this is video the raid at the
