an 13-action news update tonight on the death of a bullhead city police officer. he's now been identified as officer rodney polomski. the coroner has ruled the 52-year old died tuesday of a medical episode while driving on us-95 near searchlight. he was a 13 year veteran of the force. police have arrested two suspects..... accused of kidnapping a woman.... they are accussed of keeping her at a home.... near cheyenne and fort apache. police say... the victim escaped early this morning... and then... the suspects fled the home.... as well. both of those suspects were caught later at another home..... near rainbow and alexander. that's where.... 13 action news reporter.... michael burton spoke to police.... moments after they arrested.... the suspects. looklive intro: that's right guys, here in front of the home where the two suspects were first found - police have been trying to find out why they this morning. "a lady did come out of that house subsequently and went in a police car. she was not handcuffed or anything." swat arrived - hoping to find suspects inside the home. "they set off a smoke grenade." but soon after - they were called to a residential road near alexander and rainbow inside of a home. one of them surrendered, but the other ran off - hopping over fences - before breaking into another home to hide. "this suspect was showing how willing he was to escape and that was entering an innocent persons home, and so we're very grateful that our officers happened to be in the area and were at that location and were able to take that suspect into custody without any harm coming to anybody else." loooklive: the neighbor you just heard
michael burton - channel 13 action news. we're learning more..... about -2- women arrested.... in severe child abuse cases. 13 action news reporter david schuman is live at the north las vegas detective bureau with how they're accused of mistreating small children. two women cynthia lavender and alejandra robles. both women told police they either threw or dropped baby boys. one child died and the other has irreversible brain damage. in lavenders case, she was babysitting a friends child when police were called for an unresponsive 5 month old. originally lavender said the baby fell off a bed but later changed her story and told police that she dropped him on a tile floor out of frustration. the boy died two days later of major head trauma and bone fractures. alejandra robles was another babysitter. she was working for an
