shutting down traffic on the i- 15.. it's also destroyed homes and cars... forcing thousands of famlies into shelters this morning. this is a live picture of the it started as a small brush fire yesterday morning.. and quickly charred through at least 18-thousand acres. to give you some perspective-- the heart of this fire is about three hours away from us... but as you know the i-15 is the main route for people trying to get to and from las vegas to los angeles-- and right now it's shut down in both directions at the el cajon pass. we've got our whole team

first responders from across the state will pay their respects-- to the firefighter who lost his life while fighting the strawberry fire. 13 action news reporter marissa kynaston joins us live from part of the procession route-- with more. later today-- this street will be filled with firefighters and other first responders-- all of them-- here to remember justin beebe. 26 year old beebe was originally from vermont-- but was killed over the weekend--

a man with a gun, harrassing customer standoff. chopper 13 was fast and first over the store near durango and elkhorn. police say it started around 1- 30... when a man was harassing a woman in the store. we spoke to a 12-year old girl who says he pointed the gun right at her head. i looked in the back of me and this guy was twirling and jumping, and he pointed the gun at me. and these two other kids behind me we all got scared. the man went outside, and started waving the gun at people, and then robbed the woman he was harassing.

witnesses told police there was another person inside with a gun which prompted a brief standoff. after checking the store, officers gave the all-clear. we now have the arrest report... for the metro officer... accused of possessing child pornography... and in it -- he confesses to police. in the report... it says software was used to track an i-p address... that had files of child porn on it... and it was was traced back to officer ruben del- ga-dillo. during his interview with police, looking up and having child porn on his computers. he is currently on unpaid administrative leave while the investigation continues. clark county school district is a huge step closer to being broken up into smaller districts. last night, lawmakers unanimously approved some revisions to the bill they passed last year... that called for re-organizing ccsd. nevada succeeds tweeted out this picture of the revisions. on september first, the state board of education will meet to consider the regulations that
