outside their home. anthony orozco has been in the hospital since wednesday with several broken bones and fractured vertebrae. orozco's father, jesus, says a woman ran him over when she took her eyes off the road. he says she admitted it was her fault and police ticketed her for negligence. orozco is a straight-a student, and is worried his grades might slip because of how many days he's missing. 000041 anthony orozco, hit by car "every time i wake up i think i'm so behind in school. i'm going to be missing so much." 000057 "it puts even more stress on my a gofundme page for the family's medical bills is on our website at ktnv.com. this morning, local law enforcements are in a desperate search to get this man off the streets. alonso perez is suspected of murder and escaped police custody friday morning by somehow slipping out of his handcuffs. he was taken to the north las vegas police station friday morning and placed in an interrogation room in

left the room, perez made his move. he twisted the handcuffs until they broke then ran from the building. afterwards, perez allegedly stole a pickup truck was was recovered on saturday. he's accused of shooting and killing 31-year-old mohammed robinson near las vegas boulevard and pecos late last month. it's allegedly because robinson let a door close on a woman who was with perez at a mcdonald's. "you let this man escape - how is anybody supposed to be feel safe right now? anybody in las vegas? perez grabbed any weapons during his escape, but they believe he's armed and dangerous. suspect - vo a viewer sent us this video taken back in july. he says it shows the suspect. you see a man and woman standing outside by a car, when the man suddenly pulls out a gun and fires several shots. this happened at an apartment complex near lake mead and metro hasn't been able to confirm this.

las vegas strip. police tell us it happened early yesterday morning. we're told the suspect fired shots at a car in the bally's parking lot. thankfully, nobody was hit. no word on what sparked the shooting. a fun day on the colorado river turns frightening after a fire breaks out onboard a boat. take a look at the video. this happened friday afternoon outside the riverside casino in laughlin. fellow boaters jumped into action, helping put out the blaze until firefighters got there. fortunately nobody was hurt. no word on what caused the 2 seperate crashes on the roadways have landed 3 people in the hospital this labor day weekend. 2 people were rushed to the hospital after a car plowed into a scooter yesterday morning at stewart and 13th street. witnesses say the car ran a red light at the intersection before slamming into the scooter. the victim's injuries are non- life threatening. it's not clear if the driver of the car will face any charges. one person was taken to the hospital after this rollover crash near arville and blue diamond. it happened around 6-30 yesterday morning.

you're watching video of an accused gunman taken into custody after shooting and wounding 2 officers in the lobby of a fresno jailhouse. those officers are fighting to stay alive. police say the man walked in and fired several shots hitting both officers in the head and neck. (christy) "he was still in back in so i went back i gunshots. (reporter) "you just hid out in there." (christy) i put my foot against the door and i was like, he's not coming in here you know." the suspect is a known gang member -- who served 14 years in prison on several rape charges. the sheriff's office says the man was at the jail to visit someone and became angry when he was told he couldn't cut the line.

the police union that patrols the stadium for the san francisco 49ers is threatening to boycott. former u-n-r star colin kaepernick's protest and criticism police has drawn mixed reactions. the police union in santa clara sent a letter to team management. it reads "the 49ers organization has taken no action to stop or prevent mr. kaepernick from continuing to make inaccurate, incorrect and inflammatory statements." the letter suggests some officers protecting the stadium. people here in las vegas are joining in on the protests. around a dozen people gathered yesterday afternoon in front of the bellagio fountains to raise awareness about the pipeline. some of those who organized the event had just gotten back from the protests in north dakota and are planning to go back. rescue efforts are underway right now after a parking structure collapsed on top of workers in israel. amazlingly, 15 workers have already been rescued. and at least three others are still trapped undergound. they are said to be speaking with rescuers, who are attempting to dig a tunnel them. it's your voice, your vote in the race for president. with a little less than 2 months to go until election day, some are wondering when donald trump will release his taxes. . vice-presidential nominee mike pence, didn't give much of a timeline when asked about it yesterday. safe this morning after someone carjacked him at a gas pump in atlanta, georgia. lester chaney says fear quickly set in when he was forced to

his 1-year-old twin girls. surveillance video shows parts of the carjacking. chaney walked away from his car when the pump wouldn't read his card. seconds later he walks back and someone takes off with the car. police say there were 200 people inside the club, when the shooting happened at 2 this morning. witness are telling our abc affiliate rapper drake was also inside. detectives can't confirm if the shooting happend in the club or the parking lot-- but officers did find casings outside. a historic weekend for the catholic church mother teresa is now officially a saint-- and the process came at lightning speed. more than onw hundred thousand worshippers packed into saint peter's square for the pope francis spoke about the world famous nun, calling her a "tireless worker of mercy." she was an amazing woman, and so i think it is really important that this day has finally come for a lot of people." mother teresa was born in macedonia, but she spent most of her life helping people in the slums of calcutta, india. she died in 1997, and was put on the fast track to sainthood by pope john paul the second, who's now also a saint himself.

morning thanks to a break in the cold case nearly three decades old. investigators are now confirming the remains found this weekend are 11 year old jacob wetterling. it was nearly 28 years ago... the boy was riding his bike home from the video store with his brother and a friend... when he was kidnapped by a masked gunman. sot patty wetterling (1989 ntl): "it's very discouraging. the mornings are i think the worst for me. it's like?another day, another day." since then, investigators have been focusing on daniel a person of interest. he's behind bars on child pornography charges. according to our abc affiliate, it was heinrich who led authorities to jacob's remains. he's now considered the primary suspect.
