because of a fire inside one of the rooms. marissa kynaston was fast and first to the golden nugget-- marissa what are firefighters telling you? those guests were waiting right here-- just outside the casino-- as fire crews investigated. heres what we know so far-- the fire started in a hotel room on fire officials say the fire was smoking related-- it appears the guest fell asleep while smoking-- and the mattress caught on fire. the good news-- the fire was quickly put out by fire sprinklers that were activated inside the room. the hotel was evacuated as a precaution. nobody was hurt-- but it obviously caused quite a scare as guests were being led out of their hotel rooms in the middle of the night.

this north las vegas doctor is now facing serious charges, after he's accused of innapropriately touching a patient. police arrested jorge burgos yesterday. we went to his office to see if anyone knew about the allegations, but no one would answer our questions. but we did manage to find one of the doctor's friends.... who was shocked by the news. "this is a surprise for me." a good doctor." police have charged burgos with several counts of lewdness..and inapproporiate touching. detectives are asking for any other potential victims to come forward. a scare for people staying at the stratosphere hotel. hundreds of guests had to be evacuated when hotel staff found a suspicious package! police had to shut down the whole area yesterday. it turns out... it was a backpack full of medical devices that a hotel

last night...one protester was crtically injured and four police officers were also hurt. right now clean up is underway in charlotte after protesters damaged many buildings. we're just getting these pictures in from our affiliate there -- you can see some of the damage. protesters smashed windows at the nascar news center...at a united way...and at a buffalo wild wings. protesters also went inside that restaurant smashing alcohol bottles and t-vs. the mayor of charlotte has said this morning she is thinking of tonight... we're learning more about the -16- year-old who was killed in a dirt bike crash tuesday in summerlin. loved ones say shane sanders was on his way home when he crashed. they remember him as loving, bright and kind to everyone. he's originally from arizona, but attended palo verde high school last year. new details on the man who shot two people in the parking garage at mccarran. the police report for...jeffery brown says he broke into his estranged wife's apartment while she was on vacation. investigators believe brown then went to the airport's parking garage three times earlier in the day.... before finding the couple at their car around six o'clock. that's when he confronted his son--- before shooting both adults. the boy managed to run away. brown was eventually arrested at the v-a hospital. we could be less than a month away from knowing if las vegas will get an nfl stadium. governor brian sandoval says he could call a special legislative session to approve the deal as early as october 7th! in a statement sandoval says "a special session is warranted and should be called as soon as can be practicably accomplished." he says he is
