because police say he intentionally burned a one year old baby on his hand and wrist. 23 year old amonte taylor is now charged with child abuse and neglect. investigators tell us the baby boy's burns were so severe he had to have surgery. this nye county sheriff's deputy is now facing some serious charges this morning. police say he beat and choked his girlfriend after a night of drinking. robert cathcart was arrested after a short stand-off with police. he's now on administrative leave while the allegations are ahead today-- vice presidential candidate tim kaine will be in town stumping for his running mate hillary clinton.. and encouraging people to register to vote. he's holding a rally tonight at 6- 30 at the united brotherhood of carpenters training center. the event is free and open to the public, but you're encouraged to r-s-v- p online. doors open at 4-30. this morning... clinton's challenger donald trump is facing some heavy criticism from his trip to our state...

the fight for an nfl stadium continues in the valley-- and now--the city of las vegas has made one more push to build the stadium within their city limits. marissa kynaston is following this for us-- she's live at cashman this is what the cashman center looks like now-- but this is what the city wants it to look like-- if its home to an nfl stadium. chopper 13 fast and first over you can see that city officials hope to turn the cashman center into an entire complex-- the stadium in the middle-- then surrounded by a soccer stadium-- a hotel-- and an entertainment district. last night-- the city of las vegas presented the plans-- saying no other location could provide this type of experience-- even saying this location would be cheaper for the project. but developers have shown interest in locations closer to

lawmakers will not be discussing the education savings account program. the governor says the program is a top priority for him, and he doesn't want to rush through funding it. but he promises the funding plan will be in his final budget recommendations. state attorney general adam laxalt is securing another two federal grants to help take care of the backlog of untested sex assault kits here in nevada. the state will be getting more than 500-thousand dollars for sex assault kit traci record-keeping systems. this technology will be used in the forensic labs at metro and washoe county sheriff's office. this is in addition to the nearly 2 million dollars laxalt secured for our state earlier this year. while senator tim kaine gets ready for to rally for hillary here in the valley-- he's also apologizing for his debate performance. the democratic v-p pick says even his wife told him he interrupted mike pence too many

was being transported to the funeral home last night, cars pulled over to the side to salute him as he went by. owen and another deputy were at a possible break-in, when gunfire erupted from one of the houses in the neighborhood. the deputies shot back, but owen had been killed. the suspect was arrested for first degree murder. meanwhile, a community in oregon is shaken after a horrifying discovey inside an apartment. police a woman found the bodies of a man and two children yesterday afternoon. the children were identified as a six-year-old boy and eight-year-old girl. it's unclear how the three victims are connected. but authorities are investigating the deaths as a murder-suicide. the south carolina boy who was shotand killed at his elementary school--- has been laid to rest. a crowd of 15-hundred people

pitch. the 11 year old is the son and namesake of fallen new york deputy fire chief michael fay-hee, who was killed in a home explosion in the bronx last month. fahy's widow and three kids were all invited to watch the game. sadly the mets went onto lose to the giants... three to zero. we're getting prince's home and recording studio, paisley park. public tours were supposed to start today, but the city is reviewing safety and traffic concerns. once it's fully opened, paisley park will serve as a museum honoring the late musician. prince died back in april of a drug overdose. he was 57-years-old. a utah family's hospital bill is going viral this morning because of a strange charge. it says 39-dollars and 35 cents for skin to skin contact.
