new developments on that deadly train crash in new jersey. we're now learning the train accelerated, just before the accident. the n-t-s-b says the recording devices show it was moving 8 miles per hour 38 seconds before the crash. but it sped up to 21 miles an hour before flying into the transit station in hoboken. investigators believe the engineer put on the emergency brake less than a ec the collision. one person was killed and more than 110 others were hurt. the man suspected of shooting and killing another man-- and then ransacking his home is now behind bars after turning himself in. now 13 action news is learning more about the victim who's life was cut short. i knew i was in love with him the first time we hung out. loved ones of 27 year old chad shelton tell us he'd just moved

with those winds, power lines are down across southern florida. more than 100 thousand people remain without power right now. and it is still a very dangerous situation with the threat of flying debris and housing materials, and trees down across the area. even though the eye of the storm has passed our location, people here are still getting battered with extremely powerful rain bands and of course as we are still very much feeling the effects of hurricane matthew. now we are waiting on word from emergency managers on when its ok for everyone who has evacuated here to move back. live in micco (mee-ko) florida, i'm jason lamb, now back to you.

be mostly minor damage at kennedy space center. an office building suffered some roof damage, and parked cars had damage as well. 13 action news is getting results for people with say some of our sidewalks are causing problems for their wheelchairs. the problem is the roads are uneven at the intersection of charleston and lamb. so if you're in a wheelchair or power chair and you cross the street, there's a large curb you have to get over. during our interview with viewer jeffrey lane, our cameras caught another person over it.
