this happened just after 11 p-m near jones and oakey... you can see in this video one car is totally smashed.... at least one person was taken to the hospital with injuries...police say all injuries are non-life threatening. there's still two months left in 20-16 but metro has already responded to more homicides than all of last year. this morning, we're breaking down the numbers. marissa kynaston joins us at le and durango. where one of the valley's high profile murders of the year happened. 138 homicides so far-- one of those-- happened right here at lees liquor-- scaring many people across the valley-- because it was random. the suspects-- did not know the victim. back in may-- three suspects broke into the liquor store-- then shot an employee after he

earlier this month-- a woman was killed-- after police say a man randomly shot into her car while she was driving on the freeway. the numbers-- 138 total homicides so far this year for spike in homicides to metro does have a plan to fight this increase in crime-- i'll talk about that later in the ne a middle school band teacher is now facing embezzlement charges-- because police say he spent his students' money that was for an upcoming trip. ccsd police tell us justin klarer initially told them he simply "forgot" to turn in the several hundred dollars that was collected for a trip to new york for band students at leavitt middle school. detectives say he later

parents are now planning fundraisers so the students will have the money they need for the trip. klarer has resigned from his position at the school. right now-- metro believes there could be more victims who were recorded while staying at a vacation home on the eastside... and they are asking them to please come forward. christopher rogers was arrested after police say he hid cameras inside the home near warm springs and pecos. he rented out the vacation home using websites they're asking anyone who stayed there between last october and this january to contact them. in just a few hours-- nhp is expected to reveal more details... on what led to a trooper shooting and killing a carjacking suspect in henderson last week. nhp is holding a press conference at their headquarters at 10 o'clock this morning. investigators say last wednesday troopers and police were following a man they believed violently carjacked a woman near downtown.

researchers study law enforcement officers across the country-- nevada... we're ranked number two for the most overworked police officers. the study by "safe wise" found our state has one officer for every 248 people. in 20-14, an officer handled an average of 21 property crimes and two violent crimes. michigan topped the list for
