trauma, where police say he was showing signs of impairment. he was arrested and charged with two counts of dui involving death. a man was hit and killed while walking on the i-15 last night. n-h-p says around 8 last night, the man was walking in the travel lane near cheyenne, when he was hit by a van. troopers tell us the woman driving did stop at the scene. n-h-p is still looking into why the man was walking on the interstate. right now-- metro is searc sent a man to the hospital. officers were called out to the intersection of hacienda and escondido around 1-30 yesterday afternoon. police have not said if the man who was hit was in a crosswalk or had the right of way. but the driver involved just took off. breaking right now... we're gettign live images in from california right now of a brush fire burning there..this is burning north of los angeles in an area called sylmar...

meanwhile, metro is investigating a deadly shooting that claimed one man's life on the west side of town. police tell us around 9-30 yesterday morning, a man with a gunshot wound was found in the street near harmon and decatur. officers were able to take a suspect into custody but they have not released any more details. a terrifying night for people living near u-n-l-v... after a tense standoff between police and a man armed with a knife. officers were responding to a domestic violence call early yesterday morning near tr parkway-- which led to the barricade situation. metro says the man eventually tried to get away on foot. they caught up with him in a parking lot, and arrested him. president-elect donald trump... sits down for his first t-v interview since the election. while appearing on "60-minutes"-- he showed some signs he could backtrack on key campaign pledges. mp says he'll focus on criminal undocumented immigrants. he plans to immediately deport or lock up two to three million. here's what trump said about

together to remember a deputy that was ambushed and killed. dennis wallace was fatally shot by david machado junior early yesterday morning. the vigil was held last night outside the sheriff's department. the deputy's brother, a modesto police officer spoke about how he was his hero. :55 dennis was the type of guy, friend or foe, he would reach out to you. that was just my brother. as for the suspect, david machado, detectives say he is a known criminal in the area.

some of the fires are said to be intentionally set. arson investigators have arrested three people, and they say one of them has confessed. so far officials say the fire's have been getting ahead of them. :20the fire picked up and ran so hard so fast that it literally beat us to the punch when it comes time to light it off. we just didn't see that coming. so far there are no reports of injuries or how many homes have been destroyed. teachers will be getting a big check thanks to mcdonald's franchise owners here in the valley. it's all part of the "make activities count" grants program. the 110 teachers will receive a total of 50-thousand dollars. the money will be used for different activities for their students next school year. the check presentation is tonight at somerset academy's stephanie campus. those hoping to get some
