in the mid to upper 60s. beautiful weather this weekend with partly sunny skies and highs in the low 60s. have a great day! thanks jeff. some sad news out of pyramid lake... the body of another missing boater was found yesterday. 26-year-old michael anthony beaton went missing monday after taking a canoe out on the lake. his vehicle was found at popcorn beach... where police and a raven helicopter tried to find him monday night. crews resumed the search yesterday morning, and found beaton's body in the lake near anahoe island. he was pronounced dead on the scene. beaton was an active duty member of the u.s. air force. his last known address was in las vegas. turning to crime beat... lockdowns were issued for three schools in stead for a few hours yesterday... while police searched for somo who reportedly stole a car in the area. police tried to stop the vehicle near stead boulevard yesterday, but the driver took off.

vehicle near mount baldy, but the suspect had already left the scene... police, with the help of raven helicopter, searched for him... but called off the search after 1 p- m. investigators have not released a description of the suspect. if you know anything that can help police... call or text secret witness at 3-2-2-4900. a handgun was confiscated at spanish springs high school yesterday. the school's principal sent out a voicemail alerting parents about what happened, and said police are still investigating. she also encouraged parents and students to report suspicious activity to school secret witness, at 3-2-9 66-66. let's check in with meteorologist jeff martinez for a first look at the weather. good morning, jeff! partly sunny and mild today with

thanks jeff... new this morning... the city of reno and volunteers of america of northern nevada hosted a graduation ceremony last night... for the second class of the reno works program. the program mentors residents of the homeless shelter and provides them with job and skills training... to help participants find work and permanent housing. mayor hillary schieve and program officials

seven new graduates. they eached received a certificate for completing the program... as well as a letter of recommendation from the city. and in cone zone... after years of planning and litigation... construction for the southeast connector is now moving along again. phase one was finished in july 20- 14... but the permitting process delayed phase two. the southeast connector will extend veterans parkway in south reno... stretching 5-and-a-half miles from south meadows parkway to greg street. construction crews are now working on a 2- mile stretch on the rosewood lakes golf course and u-n-r farms. they're building five bridges for the connector...two have already been built. the road is expected to open in late 20-17. and you are invited to an open house on the southeast connector... being held at the best western airport plaza hotel

it can be a big convenience when you're in need of some fast cash but atm fees are reaching record levels. ky sisson is live in the newsroom with more on how to save money when you need funds fast. good morning ky. hi john, andi. many people take into consideration when choosing a bank how many atms they have. with the average atm fee approaching an average five dollars per transaction, consumers are becoming more aware of which cash machines to use. steve carrick- "first you use your own banks atm if ones available. if not look for one on the surcharge free networks." many cash machines are owned indepentently from banks so using an out of network atm most likely means you're going to be charged twice and that's when atm fees get expensive. so the fee posted on the machine ends up being sometimes double what you think you will pay

most financial institutions are a part of larger network that give customers thousands of atms around the country absolutely free. talking to your local branch or downloading your bank's app can help you nagivate which machines to use. also, getting cash back from a grocery store is an easy way to avoid having to go out of your way to find your bank's atm or use an out of network machine. edwin maltonato- "sometimes the people want to do fast cash back. so they get something cheaper like a fifty cent item." and it's not just atm fees john and andi that are getting more expensive. the average overdraft fee hit a record high at 33 dollars. covering money watch, ky sisson,

through to become a police officer. kr welcome back. time for take 2... stories we think are worth a second look. a u-s war veteran landed in australia today... to reconnect with an old wartime flame... after spending more than 70 years apart. 93-year-old norwood thomas landed in the southern city of adelaide, to reunite with 88- year-old joyce morris after flying from virginia. morris... a 17-year-old british girl, and thomas... a 21-year-old paratrooper, first met in london shortly before d-day. they lost touch after the war, but finally reconnected via skype last year. after their story went public, a fundraising campaign raised money for thomas to travel to

ky sisson is live in the newsroom with more on how to save money when you need funds fast. good morning ky. hi john, andi. the average atm fee is approaching five dollars per transaction. why, though? its a machine. many atms are owned indepentently from banks so using an out of network cash machine most likely means you're going to be charged twice. steve carrick- "you have to be careful. if you're not at a surcharge free atm you likely will get charged by your bank for using a non-bank atm as well as the atm owner will charge you a fee." so the fee posted on the machine ends up being sometimes double what you think you will pay because of that bank surcharge. there's a couple of ways to avoid these fees especially if you're with smaller, local banks like heritage bank of nevada that only have a few cash machines around town. most are a part of larger networks that give customers thousands of atms
