yori. when officers arrived on scene... they found a man in the parking lot with a gunshot wound. lt. scott shaw, rpd: "reno fire department as well as remsa worked on the victim for quite a while, but were unable to revive him. so at this time we are working on a homicide investigation." police are looking for a suspect... but do not have a description at this time. the identity of the victim is also not being released. the gang unit was also on scene... but police are still investigating whether it was gang-related. if you have y information, contact secret witness at 3-2-2 49-hundred. we will continue to follow the story as it develops. and we have new information on that murder at a lakeside motel last month. two people have now been arrested in california over that shooting. tuesday, police arrested 18- year-old tristen batten in vallejo... and yesterday... 20-year-old harvest davidson was arrested in sacramento. both have been charged with open

welcome back. turning to crime beat... the reno police department is helping residents, owners and managers of rentals... to keep their properties safe. it's part of the reno crime free multi-housing program that helps make properties more attractive to tenants and less- inviting for criminals. the reno police department offers this eight-hour class for free. complexes like the meadowood program's second phase... working with police to improve
lighting, windows and security. lopez "the crime affects not just the police, it affects everyone in the community. so, by working together, we can try to prevent and reduce some of the crime." managers of this apartment complex say they have seen quite an improvement since they started the program. and after the body of an unidentified woman was found near lone mountain cemetery....some drawings have now been released to help identify her. deputies tell us the woman was found wrapped in a sleeping bag on march 17th of last year... along a walking trail near newridge and northridge drives. the autopsy revealed the woman had reddish-blonde hair.. and was between the ages of 42 and 71. the woman was white... and was wearing an adult diaper... size 7 asic shoes in white with purple lines.. and size 8 rings. they also found aristar glasses and partial top dentures. she was buried for at least one
if you know anything about her, call detective sal acosta, at 2-8-3-78-55. and some sad news to report out of heavenly ski resort... where a woman has died in a skiing accident. officials say 77-year-old kathryn strangman of wisconsin died from injuries, after she hit a tree tuesday morning. heavenly ski patrol responded and attempted life support before taking strangman off the mountain. she was later pronounced dead by the douglas county coroner's office. an autopsy is scheduled, as well as an investigation into the incident. still to come on channel 2 news this morning... still to come on channel 2 news this morning... we have a presidential candidate making their way to northern

the rose ballroom at the nugget casino. its free and open to the public, and doors open at one p-m. and ahead of his visit... channel 2 got the chance to speak to senator bernie sanders in a one-on-one satellite call yesterday. after his win in new hampshire, sanders is looking to ride his recent wave of support... all the way to the polls. bernie:"i believe very strongly if theres a large caucus
