interchange. the rest of the freeway system looks pretty good. >> 6:01, let's go back to the desk. one of two enmates that broke out of the santa claira jail has been caught. he had been at large for six days. janine joins us live with more on this story -p one person still on the loose, right? >> reporter: there is a hunt for the other inmate. campbell is back behind bars at san jose's main jail. we are told that he was found hiding out in the east bay. mercury news is reporting that campbell was tracked down in antioch and a witness told us the capture happened at an apartment complex. sheriff's officials have not released details about what lead them to that location. he had been locked up for robbery since february of last year. a woman that saw the police activity described the scene. >> scary, because you don't expect that kind of stuff to happen when are you sitting
outside and you see a whole bunch of cop cars and a whole bunch of officers in full gear it's a little nerve wrecking. >> reporter: campbell escaped main jail in san jose the night before thanksgiving, along with chavez. authorities say they cut through window bars in the old section of the jail and used bed sheets to lower themselves down into the second story window. the manhunt for chavez continues. sheriff's officials arrested a woman for allegedly helping chavez escape. she was found at a motel after tips came in that chavez had been spotted there. there will be a news conference held to tell more details about the capture, back to you. >> thank you for the update. >> time, 6:03, an investigation underway in san francisco after a worker at the cirque du soleil show was killed.
alex savage is in san francisco, now, with more on what happened. good morning alex >> reporter: well, they, good morning to you, the technician was hit by a lift of some kind and ultimately died from his injuries. it happened during rehearsals just before last night's show was set to get underway, here in san francisco. 6:45 last night, police and firefighters responded to the cirque du soleil tent that is set up here in the parking lot, just south of a-t & t park. the injured worker was rushed to the hospital, but ultimately died a few hours later and last night's show was canceled. cirque du soleil put out a statement saying -- ement saying -- of course the exact circumstances of that accident still being investigated. the worker that died has not yet been identified, but we do
under stand that police san francisco police and also osha investigators will be looking into exactly what went wrong that left a worker dead just before the cirque du soleil show was set to get underway. >> all right, alex savage in san francisco. thank you. meantime, police in pappa vegging an assault last saturday involving the high school football team. some of the players allegedly held down teammates and beat them. a spokesperson for the school district told the mayber that none of the students have been disciplined because the investigation is still going on. >> golden state warriors are celebrating a big legal victory. ory. the state court of appeals uphead the environmental impact report for the project, but a group called mission bay alliance went to court to fight

more threatening than those in the past. >> i don't know what to think. i got to the back door and raised it up, to see what was going on. >> from noon time yesterday, the national weather service issued 64 watches or warnings. >> three people have now died in wildfires in tennessee, the first fire started monday in gatlinburg near the great smoky mountain national park. strong wins fanned the flames, sparking other fireses and forcing thousands to evacuate. more than 150 homes and businesses have been destroyed, including the home of gatlinburg's mayor. the fire caught many off guard because it spread so quickly. >> when you have wind up to 87- miles an hour and people were basically running for their lives >> reporter: firefighters say the wildfires have settled down some, but they are worried the

mateo bridge traffic is busy. a commove minor fender benders, more for the most part, we are looking at a typical commute in the east bay, which means it's getting slow. getting slow. >> reporter: good morning, dave. after the police arrived and took the man into custody without incident. they took a look at the weapon he was waving around and told k- t-v-u, it turned out to be a fake plastic gun. even though, coface felony charges because of this. he caused quite a scare even though no one was hurt. police responded to reports from people inside the theater there was a person with a gun
in one of the theaters. the s.w.a.t. team was called in, the theater evacuated. the man taken into custody without further problems. >> some type of disturbance inside of a thee theater, some of the moviegoers asked the gentlemen to be quiet which aggravated him further. he turned around and brandished what appeared to be a pistol at some of the moviegoers. >> we got up and made a bee line for the door. people were scrambling. >> reporter: even though the gun turned out to be a fake plastic gun, police say in these situations, they have to respond as though there is real immediate threat to the public. we are hoping to learn what, if any charges the man with the fake gun may face. ce.
back to you guys. >> meantime, word of more victims in a widening food poisoning case in contra costa county. health officials first announced eight people were hospitalized and three of them died from food they ate last week, now, investigators say the number of people that suffered symptoms were 17. officials have been investigating whether the victims became sick after eating a contaminated thanksgiving dinner or from eating meals served at their assisted living facilities doctors told the family of one victim to brace for the worth. >> his kidneys were not functioning. he was running a high temperature. >> reporter: the father said fortunately, his son is improving, moved from intensive care to a regular hospital room. health officials say the meal appears to be the most probable
