day for wall street. here's a look at the big board.... the dow now stands at . the year of the monkey not off to a good start this all comes after the financial mess in china. china's main stock index plunged for the 2nd day... this triggered another automatic halt in trading. according to bloomberg-- its the worst start for chinese markets in 2 decades. the price of oil sank to its lowest level in 12 years as traders worried that a slump in china, would mean a lower demand for energy.

year... and the list of jaywalkers dying is adding up.... this time a woman dies after she was hit by a car while not in an crosswalk. it happened around 9-30 last night near cheyenne and las vegas boulevard. a witness told police the woman was crossing the street at cheyenne outside of a marked crosswalk not adhering to the signal when she was hit. it's like running a red light at that point. she doesn't have the right of way whether she's in the crosswalk once she's crossing against the signal because all traffic north and southbound on las vegas boulevard had a green light. the woman was taken to umc trauma where she died. police say the driver who hit her stayed on the scene and was not impaired. things are heating up on the campaign trail during election year ...and nevada is up for grabs. presidential hopefuls... hillary clinton, bernie sanders and martin o'malley attended the democratic party

with a federal subpoena over a noro-virus outbreak at one of their chains in california. the subpoena... served in december...is part of an investigation by the f-d-a's office of criminal investigations. it requires chipotle to hand over several documents related to the simi valley restaurant... where about 100 people were sickened by the norovirus in august. last fall... chipotle closed 43 restaurants in washington state and oregon after health authorities linked an e-coli outbreak to 6 restaurants in the region. peta loses its lawsuit against a photographer on behalf of a monkey. a federal judge in san francisco

morning.... metro says that incident report wouldn't be ready for a few days. in clark county there are almost two thousand dui arrests every month its kind of common it happens frequently las vegas metro police department tells fox 5 denton has worked for the department since june 2001... they said they wouldnt talk on camera about the case. ive never represented a police officer generally cops dont make this mistake donahue says we shouldn't automatically assume denton will be found guilty of d-u-i. the breath machine is not very accurate they have an arrest quota they do no have a convicton quota so if you admit to drinking youre probably going to jail even if its one beer at a ball game two hours ago metro says they will release officer denton's arrest record... and the details of

been rescheduled for the end of the month. 17 miners have been rescued from a salt mine in central new york. the miners got stuck in an elevator last night about 900 feet below ground. crews used a basket-crain to rescue the miners after being trapped for 10 hours underground. the sheriff in harney county, oregon says its time for the bundy brothers and their group of armed militia to pack up and go home. the group has been in burns all week, supporting the protesters, who are opposing lengthy prison sentences for 2 local ranchers convicted of setting fire to federal land. a lot of people who live there also want the group to leave... as a precaution... schools in the area have been closed all week. the texas state trooper who arrested sandra bland last summer is fired after being indicted for lying to a grand jury. trooper brian encinia pulled bland over for an improper lane change, then

documents related to the simi valley restaurant... where about 100 people were sickened by the norovirus in august. last fall... chipotle closed 43 restaurants in washington state and oregon after health authorities linked an e-coli outbreak to 6 restaurants in the region. chick-fil-a is starting the new year a little healthier. the fast food chain will start offering what it calls a "super food side" later this month. it's a blend of chopped kale and broccolini, tossed in a maple vinaigrette dressing, with roasted nuts. 170 calories while a small is only 140 calories. chick-fil-a is expected to open its first las vegas location near sahara and rancho this year. they say it wants to open 10 locations in our years.
