the victim says her and attacked their dog. interviewed the the allegations. police to quote, "throw the hooks on and take me to metro says burt was arrested in 20-11 for another domestic violence related case. stories this at least 7 people following a series in jakarta, indonesia. 5 attackers were killed, along with 2 civilians with at least 10 others injured. initial reports say the attackers used grenades against a police station -- before engaging officers in a fire fight. a nearby starbucks coffee shop was hit by another blast at the same time. so far, no one has claimed responsibility. it's still unclear how many gunmen were involved and how many locations were hit. g-o-p candidates are in south carolina ahead of tonight's presidential debate. 7 candidates will

protected this tax season. nick? dave and maria -- you were talking about the powerball earlier. the harsh reality is.... almost none of us are waking up to the millions this morning. so if you happen to be one of those who didn't win the lottery last night -- your tax return will be a very welcome consolation. the i-r-s will start accepting 2015 tax filings on january 19th. the agency expects to receive more than 150 individual returns -- 80% of those filed electronically. thieves love tax season, and they will try everything in their power to steal your tax return. so here are some things to look out for, and some tips for avoiding these scams. be leery of phone scams. the i-r-s says some will call you impersonating i-r-s agents threatening police arrest or deportation, if you don't give them your filing info. the i-r-s says they will never call to get this info. you will receive documentation, if such info is needed. look out for fake charities. some will try to get you to donate

with the incentive of a better tax return. and finally -- you need to be aware of who you are filing your return with. "we know criminals are really good at mimicking legitimate websites. so you always want to make sure you're on a legitimate website you want to look at the top window. and you want it to say 'https'. that 's' stands for 'secure'. so every page should have 'https' in the very top window, so that site is secure, before entering any personal information into the online system." for those who won't have their taxes in order early, you have until april 18th this year to file them. that's a three-day extension from the normal april 15th deadline, which is due to 'emancipation day' celebrations in washington d-c this year. there are a lot of great online tax- filing services out there, that you know are legit. 'h and r block', 'turbo tax', you can even file on

shot of the man they say shot and killed his father. 22-year-old daron arrested monday. felony open murder charge. the police report says clanton shot his father "kevin clanton" because his father wanted to see his college transcripts. clanton did't have them because he school at the time. he told police that's when things escalated, he got scared and grabbed a gun. he says his father started walking toward him, so he fired all of the rounds in his chamber. clanton was arrested and booked into the henderson detention center. this election season is now in full gear with the first g-o-p debate of the year taking place tonight... and the iowa caucuses just weeks away... and it looks like the field is already narrowing. fox's caroline shively, has more from charleston, south carolina. the stage is all set for tonight's debate in

the fox business network. and the candidates have been gearing up all week. trump says: "ted cruz, he's been really nice other than the last couple of days he's gotten a little testy, i've been waiting. you gotta make sure you can run. trump continues to hit cruz hard on his citizenship... as the texas senator and the billionaire are neck and neck in many iowa polls. cruz says: "you know it's very interesting, this issued did not seem to concern donals until just a little over a week ago when suddenly he was trailing in the polls in iowa." the two have mostly played nice in past debates... but ... experts expect that to change tonight. steirwalt says: "donald trump is going to be beating him down and beating him down, and cruz actually needs that. he needs that moment and he needs to endure it." rand paul didn't make the cut for the main debate... and says he won't come at all if that doesn't change. but that's not stopping carly fiorina, former senator rick santorum, and former governor mike huckabee from taking advantage of the extra t-v time.

(sailor): "it was a mistake, it was our fault, and we apologize for our mistake" it is unclear from the video whether the sailor was speaking voluntarily. the u.s. has not yet said under what circumstances that statement was made. iran's foreign

newsroom with what you should be doing to make sure y'rprotected this tax season. nick? dave and maria -- filing your taxes can be kind of a pain. but there are so many great self- service tax filing options out there, that make it a lot easier. here, we have things like tax slayer, turbo tax, h and r block that all allow you to safely and legitimately file your taxes. the i-r-s will start accepting 2015 tax filings on january 19th. and you actually have until april 18th to file your taxes this year -- a three-day extension over the usual april 15th deadline. the i-r-s expects 80% of tax filings to be done online, this year. so here are some things you need to avoid, to keep your tax filing and identity in tact. avoid 'phishing'

if you receive a strange-looking email from someone claiming to be the i-r-s, don't open it. if you do open it, don't give out any information. the i-r-s will not contact you in this way. if you use a tax professional for your return, make sure it's somebody you know and trust. return preparer fraud is something that does arise, and it hurts both the preparer and you. avoid 'too good to be true' tax incentives you to run with so-called 'loopholes' in the tax return system. it's simply not worth the risk. and finally -- be extra vigilant when it comes to this time of year. "they really need to think about going regularly to their online accounts, their banking insurance account, their health insurance claims activity looks familiar to them." filing early puts advantage. if you wait, it gives identity thieves more time to file fraudulent claims in your

websites. so you always want to make sure you're on a legitimate website that is encrypted. you want to look at the top window. and you want it to say 'https'. that 's' stands for 'secure'. so every page should have 'https' in the very top window, so that site is secure, before entering any personal information into the online system." for those who won't have their taxes in order early, you have until april 18th this year to file them. that's a three-day extension from the normal april 15th deadline, which is due to 'emancipation day' celebrations in washington d-c this year. there are a lot of great online tax- filing services out there, that you know are legit. 'h and r block', 'turbo tax', you can even file on the i-r-s website. just be aware of who you are dealing with, online or in person. and you should have your taxes squared away safely and securely.

clanton was arrested monday. he's now facing a felony open murder charge. the police report says clanton shot his father "kevin clanton" because his father wanted to see his college transcripts. clanton did't have them because he wasn't enrolled in school at the time. he told police that's when things escalated, he got scared and grabbed a gun. he says his father started walking toward him, so he fired all of the rounds in his chamber. clanton was arrested and booked into the henderson detention center. this election season is now in full gear with the first g-o-p debate of the year taking place tonight... and the iowa caucuses just weeks away... and it looks like the field is already narrowing. fox's caroline shively, has more from charleston, south carolina. the stage is all set for tonight's debate in charleston...which is being hosted by the fox business network. and the candidates have been gearing up all week. trump says: "ted cruz, he's been really nice other

all of us get a bigger slice." shocking new video is released of the u-s sailors detained by iran after drifting into iranian waters. in the video, you can see the ten sailors aboard the iranian military vessel held at gunpoint with their hands behind their heads. the service members were taken into custody tuesday after drifting across the maritime border in the persian gulf. a navigation malfunction was to blame for the crossing. iranian state t-v aired video of one of the u.s. sailors apologizing for entering iranian waters. (sailor): "it was a mistake, it was our fault, and we apologize for our mistake" it is unclear from the video whether the sailor was speaking voluntarily. the u.s. has not yet said under what circumstances that statement was made. iran's foreign minister is now calling on the u-s to apologize for what they say was the american navy's maritime encroachment.
