sister were both taken to juvenile detention. we'll have much more about this story tonight on fox5 news at ten. mgm announces they're going to start charging for parking on the strip... a big change from the free parking many of us are so used too... our team coverage begins with fox5's miguel martinez-valle live near the excalibur, one of be charging for parking. mgm told me the big reason theyre charging for parking is to improve their garages and the parking experience... theyre building a new parking structure here near the excaliber because they say the new arena and event tourism in general around town makes it important for them to be able to efficiently park thousands of people at the same time. the parking fees will be charged at all mgm properties, these include mgm grand,new york new york and the bellagio... they'll be charged to tourists and locals alike but mgm says tourists will be given a grace period before they have

can earn free parking by becoming m life members mgm says they will charge 10 dollars or less for overnight parking, the parking price will be based on what time you park and how long youre there... theyre saying its kinda like the airport, you get a ticket when you get in the garage... and pay on your way out. " we dont have all the details worked out, we are looking at various forms of operation of these parking facilities, were going to select the method that is going to be best for our company, for our customers, and for our employees." valet parking will also cost you, a source close to the situation told us valet could charge around 17 dollars for overnight guests. mgm did say employee parking will still be free, they will have their own parking area. we could start seeing some of the improvements mentioned in the next few weeks... the fee parking isnt expected to start until april and locals will have a grace period after mgm

before they have to pay, they havent said how will be... live near the strip, miguel martinez- valle, fox5 news local las vegas. mgm also said theyre spending 90 million dollars on parking infrastructure and 54 million on facility near excalibur. some old timers up to a strip hotel... and parking next to the front doors... but it's safe to say those days are long gone. fox5's cyndi lundeberg is live with reaction to the change that is not going over well with locals. those who live here tell me they don't think it's fair they have to pay to visit parts of their own city... many also said if the mgm starts charging... why won't the other hotels? >> one man said he doesn't mind paying to park if it came with things like security guards... but mgm has said that's not what the money is going towards.

a local developer and his wife purchased the property in 2012. today -- they held a groundbreaking to mark the start of construction. the couple says it booming on the southwest part of the valley. been apartments built in last 7 8 years. started in 2014 2015 look around area there are several apartment projects going up." the four-story luxury development will have retail on the ground floor... along with a resort-style pool... clubhouse... and penthouses. the luxury apartments are set to open next year. a las vegas wal- mart store is among of 269 locations the retail giant plans to close. the "super center" location on craig and nellis will shut its doors by 7 p-m this sunday. the company says the store's 350 employees will be given opportunities to transfer to other stores. those who aren't immediately placed will get 60 days

served our country had a chance to meet employers from across the valley. hundreds of companies participated in a "veteran career fair" at unlv. there were federal agencies... law enforcement... corporate businesses... and even mom and pop shops. organizers say it's the largest career fair in the state. the hiring event was co-sponsored by senator harry reid. it's a way for unlv to reach out to more than 16- hundred veterans who attend the school. the director of veterans services meets with jobseekers about what companies might be a match for them. "theres all these different jobs in military but at end of day its teamwork ability to grasp changing technlogy no one has more diverse population than military trained to work

populations and get along and be part of a team and have a strong work ethic." workshops also offered tips on how to sharpen resume and interviewing skills. a new nightclub is also working hard to fill some jobs. the lines were long... last night and this morning... as the wynn resort held interviews to fill positions at its new "intrigue" nightclub. jobs up for grabs include - cocktail servers - bartenders - and v-i-p hosts. the new nightclub will replace "tryst" and opens april 28-th. twelve people are unaccounted for... after two military aircraft collide in hawaii. so far - no survivors are accounted for. the coast guard says the aircraft... from the 1st wing... were collided just before midnight thursday off the a total of 12- people were on board - what were 53 choppers. is asking people to water off the beaches due to debris that could wash up. witnesses in the area say they heard a loud boom and saw a big flare in the sky. "if you weren't sitting here at the exact moment that it happened, you

" an empty life raft was found this morning but no one was on board. army investigators are blaming a one-star general and nearly a dozen other people for leadership failures that contributed to the accidental shipment of live anthrax to facilities around the globe. despite the mistake - the military says no staff or citizens were in danger. "we have tracked down all the primary recipients and notified the entire community of what's gone on here. so we have a very high degree of confidence that we have found all of these samples and they have been destroyed." the six-month army investigation named brigadier general william king for perpetuating a "complacent atmosphere" - when he commanded the lab at the dugway proving ground in utah. the facility mistakenly shipped live anthrax to one hundred and ninety four other labs, including in the u.s. and overseas... a mishap that came

last year. the french health ministry says one man is brain dead and three others are facing possible permanent brain damage after volunteering to take part in a botched drug test. abby huntsman has the latest on a drug trial - gone horribly wrong. . clinical trials are designed to make sure that medications are safe before they are released to the public. but in france where several large pharmaceutical companies are based.. something went very wrong while testing a new painkiller. six men are hospitalized.... one of them is brain dead. touraine says: "an accident of exceptional gravity happened during a clinical trial in phase 1 in rennes." the medication that was being tested was supposed to work on the system in the brain which deals with pain touraine says it acts on natural systems which fight pain, a system called the endocannabinoid system. but i must stress, there is no cannabis in this drug.'' ninety healthy male volunteers were given the drug in varying doses: coubris says: "it is

facing an unprecedented situation. such an event has never happened in france before. i remind you that we are in phase one of the drug trial. theoretically, there is no reason for any kind of accident to happen. " the experimental drug is produced by a portuguese pharmaceutical company. the company testing the drug -- biotrial laboratory -- is headquartered in france but also has offices in london and newark new jersey. the chief neurologist at the french hospital where the patients are being treated says there is no known antidote for the drug that was being tested. in new york... abby huntsman... fox news. 90 healthy volunteers were given the experimental drug in varying doses beginning on january 7-th. six men between 28 and 49 years old were the ones hospitalized. chipotle is closing all of its restaurants - but only for one day - and only for a few hours. it will happen next month - so employees can take part in a staff meeting about food safety. the chicago-based
