"sahara is a notoriously busy street. it's a major thoroughfare traveling from the east side of town to the west side of town. the collision happened in this area. you have a marked cross walk right there, that's where they should have been crossing and it goes all the way

morning with dave hall, maria silva, monica jackson, jason feinberg , . weather 24/7 with cassandra jones and traffic solutions. this morning. it was a busy weekend up on mount charleston as folks headed up to see the snow! lee canyon has already received 73 inches of fresh snow this year. the ski resort's marketing director says that's more than they recieved all of last year. and all that snow means lots of kids want to learn how to ski and snowboard. training sessions are now booked through the end of the month. the tubing area was sold out as well. "we're suggesting people to prebook whether its snow experience package

back to the news desk free parking at m-g-m's strip properties will soon be a thing of the past. m-g-m says it will start charging for parking at most of its properties this spring. the resort plans to charge up to 10-dollars for self-parking. the valets will start charging a flat-rate. m-g-m says the money will be used to build a 54- million dollar new parking structure behind the excalibur. another 34 million dollars in new technology will be added to the parking garages. the force is definitely strong with this little boy! we've seen iron man give a boy a bionic arm... now its the stormtroopers turn! fox's keith landry shows us which group stepped in to build the 3-d prosthetic. garcia just received a bionic prosthetic storm trooper arm. some popular star wars characters delivered the device to him at his school in nebraska. alvin is thrilled with his 3 d printed prosthetic arm. his mom is too. mos says: "and when i saw him, i'm really really happy for him." (nats sound break him at the computer with model) john sparkman is cofounder of limbitless solutions. the orlando non profit group is located at ucf. sparkman's team has designed and printed 3 d arms for almost twenty children across america. sparkman says it takes 36 hours to 3 d print an arm and 22 hours to make a hand. sparkman says: "we set out to help every child in need, every child we could and we are gonna see it through the best that we can." alvin showed off his new arm to the other students and he had some forceful supporters by his side while he did it. mom says alvin will never forget this experience. mos says: "he's a boy. he's very friendly and i always talk to him about the truth.

some clarity this week in las vegas' bid to land a hockey team... the nhl's executive committee is meeting in new york wednesday. this report comes from the las vegas review journal. the committee is not expected to make a decision, wednesday... have a better idea of which way the the n-h-l last expanded in 2000, bringing columbus the league. wednesday's special meeting is a precursor to a meeting of the n- h-l's 30-member governors', january 30th in nashville. hundreds of dodge ball players invaded las vegas. for the largest dodgeball tournament in the nation. the 'weho' dodgeball league organized the tournament. 72 teams made up of 450 dodgeballers hit the court in las vegas this past weekend. the adult co-ed league is a healthy mix of fun and competition. weho dodgeball founder jake mason spoke to fox5 about why they chose las vegas for the tournament. "vegas is where you have to hold every

after the area was hit by a tornado. "you don't realize how much power and impact that a tornado has until you until you see this. i mean it's pretty devastating. from my house on down to the end of the street, almost every house has pretty significant damage. this one obviously got the brunt of it. um, heart goes out to the family. that's rough. that's rough." siesta key and sarasota were hit the hardest hit areas. more than 39- thousand customers lost power on sunday. many homes also suffering extensive damage. bad weather in michigan led to a series of crashes that killed one person in a freeway pile-up. three others are in critical condition. white out conditions triggered the chain reaction of crashes on sunday. police say as many as 50 vehicles-- and almost a dozen semi-trucks were involved in the pile-up. authorities say speed played a factor.

reaches a deal to keep horse-drawn carriages in central park. the agreement limits the operation of the carriages after animal rights advocates fought to get them banned. mayor bill de blasio and city officials say the deal would reduce the number of licensed horses from about 180 to 95 by the time permanent stables are built in the park. right now the horses live in private stables on manhattan's west side. police need your help finding two men accused of holding up a local store. it happened last month at a clothing store near rainbow and lake mead. police say the suspects threatened employees with a weapon and took off with merchandise. fortunately no one was hurt. either of these police or 702-385-55-55. walmart employees in our valley are now transferring to other stores or looking for new work. the walmart "supercenter" on north nellis and craig closed its doors last night. more than 350 employees were

the problem started when flint switched its drinking water source... from the city of detroit to the flint river back in 2014. shortly after the switch ... many residents started complaining about the smell of the water. some even developed rashes as well.. mos says: "we've been fighting too long, we need more help, we need obama to come over here and change these pipes. the city switched its source back to detroit this past october, but the problems persisted... and it was discovered children has elevated levels of lead in their blood. clinton says: "if the kids in a rich suburb of detroit had been drinking contaminated water and being bathed in it there would have been action." goodbye album hitting record highs following the musician's death. it debuted at number one on the "billboard 200" chart last week-- knocking singer adele out of the top spot. billboard says this is bowie's album in the united states. "blackstar" was released on january 8th-- which was also the singer's 69th he lost his fight with cancer just two days later. music playing remembering craig strickland. the country band "back road anthem" paid tribute to their band mate on saturday. strickland went missing last month after he went duck hunting in oklahoma during a storm. his boat was later found capsized. the 29-year old was found dead on january fourth. officials have ruled the cause of death drowning and exposure to freezing temperatures-- his dog however, survived the harsh weather conditions. the largest dog in the world could be living right

pound great dane lives in sparks. get this... he's more than 7 feet tall when he stands on his hind legs and he's only getting bigger! his owners say they knew he was special when he was just six weeks old because he was already the size of a six month old lab! helms says: "he sprouted like a weed. the next morning, his collar was tighter, he was half and inch taller. it happened numerous times." helms says: "if there's a bigger dog, i'd like to see it. it's nice to connect with people with an abnormally large dog." rocko's owners say he's still growing, so they're hoping he can find a place in the guinness book of world records. the current record is 44 inches. rocko is 40. his owners say it will take a few more months to find out if he's the new title holder.

over the red carpet for the "critics' choice awards." last night's awards was the first time the show honored both the best in t-v and film. more's rachel smith helped choose the winners. last night, there was more love for leonardo dicaprio... as he took home "best actor in a drama film" for "the revenant." federal emergency in flint, michigan to deal with the city's ongoing water crisis. this, after high levels of lead contaminated the city's water supply. volunteers are now arriving to coordinate disaster relief efforts. here's fox's kelly wright.
