police say this happened at about police say this happened at about 12:45 this morning. metro police lieutenant dan mcgrath says the two white males were approached by four hispanic males. mcgrath says some 'gang language' was exchanged, and then six shots were fired. one of the white males in his 30's was killed in the exchange, while the other was transported to the hospital with multiple gun shot wounds. mcgrath says the group of hispanic males ran southwest of the shooting scene... possibly to a nearby apartment complex. "... believe they're in the area.... pretty violent act." mcgrath says they are speaking to witnesses in the area, and checking security video from the many nearby businesses. mcgrath says they expect to have this intersection

until sunrise. so you may need to find an alternate route this morning. if you have any information that can help police in this case, you're encouraged to give them a call. jason and monica? police also had their hands full with a string of homicides throughout the valley last night. the first one happened at an apartment complex near pecos and lake mead. metro says they found a hispanic man in his early 20s dead in the middle of the courtyard. he'd been shot several times. witnesses say they saw a man wearing a hoodie running from the scene. no arrests have been made. and not too long after that... police were called out to a deadly stabbing near las vegas boulevard and saint louis. police say the

man got into a fight. the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim. he was taken to the hospital where he later died. police say witnesses inside the home have identified the suspect. police are looking into a shooting at an apartment complex. a man and woman were shot. it happened just before 11 last night at renaissance villas apartments ...near tropicana and decatur. police say the victims drove themselves to spring valley hospital. officials say they don't have too much information on the suspects. "two black males...investigatio n is ongoing." both victims are expected to be okay. parents are concerned after an attmepted abduction near a northeast valley school. a letter was sent home to parents at o'callaghan junior high school.... after school officials say 2 students were approached by an adult male as they were walking home from school. the man asked the

wanted a ride home. brookman elementary school also sent a letter to parents. school officials want to remind parents to take extra safety precautions while walking to and from school always walk in groups never take a ride from a stranger. if approached shout and yell as loud as you can run to a safe place... like back to school, into a store or a church. if possible get a license plate number. the nevada rancher who took over a wildlife refuge for almost a month in oregon is now telling his followers to go home. ammon bundy and his armed group took over the refuge in an attempt to protest what they call "government overreach" on federal land. one protester was killed when gunfire broke out during a traffic stop. bundy, made his first court appearance yesterday after he and 7 others were arrsted. he had his attorney deliver this message to his

now issuing refunds to those who have booked flights to latin america over growing concerns of the zika virus. the outbreak of the virus has now spread to about two dozen countries ... all in central and south america. a health official for the obama administration says he doesn't believe the u-s is vulnerable to the widespread of the disease. but the un health agency says that up to 4 million cases will happen in "the americas" over next year. zika has been linked to a rare birth defect that causes babies to be born with unusually small heads. it can also cause developmental issues. the federal trade commission sues devry university for misleading students in their adertistments. the agency says the statistics used in ads are deceiving. the ads claim that 90-percent of people who have graduated since 1975 have found jobs in their field...within 6 months of completing their studies. and that grads have incomes that

police say two white males were at that bus stop when they were approached by a group of hispanic males. both were shot, and one was killed. police say this happened at about 12:45 this morning. metro police lieutenant dan mcgrath says the two white males were approached by four hispanic males. mcgrath says some 'gang language' was exchanged, and then six shots were fired. one of the white males in his 30's was killed in the exchange, while the other was transported to the hospital with multiple gun shot wounds. mcgrath says the group of hispanic males ran southwest of the shooting scene... possibly to a nearby apartment complex. lt. dan mcgrath/lvmpd 41:21 - 41:37 "... believe they're in the area.... pretty violent act." mcgrath says they are speaking to witnesses in the area, and checking security video from the many nearby businesses.
