your fox5 traffic solutions let's begin with your drive here are the accidents to watch out and alternate routes you can use listed on our maps here are the construciton areas to look out for and alternate routes listed on our maps back to the news desk the standoff between occupiers at a wildlife refuge in oregon and the f- b-i seems to be coming to an end this morning. and while it looks like that standoff will end peacefully... nevada rancher cliven bundy -- has been arrested in oregon. fox five's nick lagrange joins us in studio with when those protesters plan to surrender, and why bundy has now been arrested. nick? dave and maria -- there are four remaining protesters at the malheur wildlife refuge in oregon. this occupation

ammon bundy -- cliven bundy's son. cliven bundy was on his way to the refuge in support of the protesters, when he was arrested immediately after landing in portland, wednesday night. the four remaining holdouts occupying the refuge say they will turn themselves in at 8:00 this morning. ammon bundy's lawyer -- mike arnold -- told the oregonian that cliven bundy was considering joining a news conference held by nevada assemblywoman -- michele fiore -- to discuss the ongoing occupation. fiore spent most of wednesday night talking to the remaining militia members as federal agents surrounded the refuge. bundy had just landed in portland from las vegas, when he was arrested. bundy's charges have not yet been announced, though bundy still faces charges from his standoff with federal agents in 2014. after the arrest -- one fellow passenger described what the arrest looked like. "i saw the tall guy in the cowboy hat and heard him talking on his phone about burns, oregon when he was on the terminal coming onto the plane. and i was

something.' and i just put together that it's clive bundy. i saw some heavily dressed swat guys waiting at the terminal when we got off the plane. and i couldn't quite put together who it was until just a second ago." the bureau of land management said in 2014 -- bundy owed over one- million dollars in fees and penalties for trespassing cattle on federal property without a permit for over 20 years. bundy refused to pay or acknowledge federal agents' demands at that time. federal agents later backed down and allowed bundy's supporters to turn the cattle loose. again -- bundy's official charges haven't yet been announced. however -- the f- b-i says further information will be released by the u-s attorney's office in las vegas today. we will also follow the situation in oregon closely this morning, and bring you updates, as we get them. dave and maria? local parents are

county school district over a sexual abuse case involving a former teacher. they say the abuse should have been avoided... and the blame falls squarely on the school district... fox5's miguel martinez-valle has more on the lawsuit.

ignoring it." they think clark county school district could have prevented the whole thing, seeing as mazo was accused of the same crime just years earlier.. " this defense that clark county school district keeps putting out there that well, the criminal court dismissed these charges in 2008 there's nothing we can do, that position in ludacris" robert eglet is leading the case against the district, he say's there's no way of knowing exactly how many children were victims of mazo or the phsycological effects the abuse will have on the kids who have come forward. " they've said they dont want to have children, because they dont want this to happen to one of their children." he says the school district should have done more to prevent this from happening...includin g conducting a private investigation into mazo's earlier case, and notifying the parents about his accused history... " at a very minimum, at a very minimum, they could have transfered him to a position where he didnt have access to be able to do this to other young children."

but eglet and the parents he represents hope the lawsuit will lead the school district to change their current policies, and prevent more kids from falling victim to abuse. " year after year after year, there is an incident in our school district like this." miguel martinez- valle fox5 local las vegas>> mazo was originally facing 32 counts of child molestation. last year he pled guilty to three lesser counts of attempted lewdness with a child so he could avoid trial metro homicide is investigating a possible domestic violence case that turned deadly in the northwest valley. police responded to a home on sweeping glen street near lone mountain and cliff shadows parkway around 7:30 last night. when they arrived they found a man, dead in the driveway of the home. the victim's girlfriend is accused of shooting him in the chest with a shotgun. neighbors we spoke to say this

neighborhood and things like this don't happen there. "we all walk our dogs together and talk to everybody. we know them personally and have movie in the parks and we jus worry about everybody of course." the woman told investigators she the woman told investigators she had been a victim of domestic abuse. police did not arrest her because they are still trying to figure out if she was defending herself. in national news... flags will fly at half-staff today to honor two maryland deputies killed in the line of duty. "today's a sad day for the hartford county sheriff's office and the citizens of hartford county who were are sworn to serve." the deputies were killed by a gunman who opened fire

restaurant yesterday. the gunman was also killed. one of the officers was a 30- year veteran of the force, the other a 16-year veteran. isis releases horrifying new video of its latest recruit... a 4 year old boy. in the video, the british boy dubbed "jihadi junior" is filmed detonating a bomb which kills four alleged spies. this is the second time in recent years a child has appeared in their propaganda videos. defense secretary ash carter will outline details of a plan to fight the islamic state during a meeting with allies and non-nato partners later today. in more local news... a community organization designed to help people in need... needs some help of its own. "baileys community nest" has been broken into several times in the past few week. the food bank is located on the bailey middle school campus. the director says 10 cases of turkey breast lunch meat and 20 cases of sports drinks were taken during

in. people who visit the food bank still can't believe someone would steal food from people who need it the most. getting trapped in a monster storm in the bahamas. the royal carribean ship was on its way from new york to florida on sunday when it ran into rough seas off north carolina. the ship was hit with 120-mile an hour winds, ripping the cruise ship apart and injuring several passengers. luckily for those passengers, the ship docked in new jersey just before nine last night. those people thrilled to be

household will save nearly one thousand dollars this year compared to two years ago. that's from government estimates. it makes sitting in traffic a little less frustrating -- doesn't it? the energy information administration predicts the average cost of a gallon this year will be a buck 98. that's the lowest full year average since 2009. but remember -- gas prices do tend to rise during those summer travel months. the plunge in oil prices is also making it cheaper to fly. the average price of a domestic ticket in the united states dropped last quarter by more than 6 percent. but airlines can still get ya -- with the extras at the airport like roomier seats and baggage fees. so -- plan that extra trip with your family. but bring some of those gas money savings just in case. for consumer watch -- i'm mary moloney.>> a little boy spent the last 9 months baking cookies -- and raising 10- thousand dollars for his local police department. event... but then community members pitched in to help. everything from the venue to the food was donated and all 10- thousand dollars raised went directly to the lansing police department. a local 5th grader is the big man on campus... for a very good reason... he jumped in to save his friend's life. when the child started choking during lunch at schorr elementary school, gabriel didn't hesitate to jump into action now he's being special way. fox5's christine maddela has the story.

"actually when at first the school called i thought oh my goodness what has he done. and then when they told me i was completely blown out of the water that he went above and beyond for a friend." gabriel's mom was just as surprised as anyone. gabriel likes the internet like so many of his friends and i'm sure that youtube had a lot to do with teaching him the hemlich." i feel like i always really knew it or i just saw from tv." whatever way he learned... it stuck

12-year-old students while working at somerset academy... in october 2012. according to a police report released to fox5 this morning, a student told police mr. crawford would kiss her on the lips and forehead and she had held hands with him after school hours. the victim that had reported the situation had originally filed the report 2 years ago to a north las vegas officer, who later retired. another officer picked up the investigation a year ago. after working the case for the year, this officer was able to get a warrant earlier this month, and arrest crawford for lewdness with a minor and unlawful contact with a minor. he will appear in court next week. an update now to a home invasion we brought you as breaking news. the man and teenager shot yesterday morning remain in critical condition at u-m-c. the incident happened yesterday morning in a gated neighborhood in summerlin. police found a man and a teenager with gunshot wounds. they believe the teenager is the

out what caused more than 100 students to get sick. students in collegeville, pennsylvania began flooding doctors offices with complaints of similar stomach symptoms. the school says it doesn't know what caused the illness however most of the students say they had dinner at the same campus dining hall on the same night. oregon and california are the latest states to report cases of the zika virus. the c-d-c says most diagnoses have been mild and they're not worried about the virus speading. all cases were reportedly contracted outside the u-s. officials are urging women to avoid traveling to areas hit by the virus. since zika can cause serious birth defects. is there really a difference in pay between men and woman? well, most don't believe there is. glassdoor says the majority of working adults believe men and women at their company are being paid equally. the company also found that 89 percent of

protesters at the malheur wildlife refuge in oregon. this occupation was started by ammon bundy -- cliven bundy's son. cliven bundy was on his way to the refuge in support of the protesters, when he was arrested immediately after landing in portland, wednesday night. the four remaining holdouts occupying the refuge say they will turn themselves in at 8:00 this morning. ammon bundy's lawyer -- mike arnold -- told the oregonian that cliven bundy was considering joining a news conference held by nevada assemblywoman -- michele fiore -- to discuss the ongoing occupation. fiore spent most of wednesday night talking to the remaining militia members as federal agents surrounded the refuge. landed in portland from las vegas, when he was arrested. bundy's charges announced, though bundy still faces charges from his standoff with federal agents in 2014. -- one fellow passenger the arrest looked

local parents are suing the clark county school district over a sexual abuse case involving a former teacher. they say the abuse should have been avoided... and the blame falls squarely on the school district... fox5's miguel martinez-valle has more on the lawsuit.

u-s attorney's office here in las vegas later today. we of course will continue to follow the situation in oregon closely and bring you updates, as soon as we get them. new this morning, we are learning more about the former charter school teacher arrested in connection to a lewdness investigation. william crawford is accused of having inappropriate contact with two 12-year-old students while working at somerset academy... in october 2012. according to a police report released to fox5 this morning... a student told police mr. crawford would kiss her on the lips and forehead and she held hands with him after school. the victim that had reported the situation had originally filed the report 2 years ago to a north las vegas officer, who later retired. another officer picked up the investigation a year ago. after working the case for the year, this officer was able to get a warrant earlier this month, and arrest crawford for lewdness with a minor and unlawful contact with a minor. he will appear in
