breaking news. thousands of people around the country will find themselves stranded this morning... delta airlines flights are being grounded due to a system outage. the airline took to twitter to let customers know its systems were "down everywhere." we are following this closely for you and will have just a few minutes.. also overnight... the all-clear is given at a valley apartment complex after a gas leak forces people from their homes. it happened around midnight at the sherman garden apartments on j street. las vegas fire and rescue says a car may have hit a gas meter, triggering the leak. folks living in the community were evacuated for a brief time. they have since been allowed to return home. the exact cause of the leak remains under

an elderly woman is found dead inside her east valley home. police have now named the woman's estranged husband as a person of interest in her homicide. police arrived at the home on colgate lane near washington and sloan around 5:30 sunday night. they say the woman's roommate found her body and called police. neighbors say the woman was kind and never bothered anyone. "knowing that she was really kind, sweet-hearted seemed like she a big heartm very charming. elderly woman, didnt come outside, didn't bothered anybody." police are trying to determine if domestic violence played a role in her death. the coroner is working to determine the cause of death and will release her identity. metro is also investigating a suspicious death near mccarran airport. police say a man's body was found inside a home on sunnyslope avenue near hacienda and spencer around five oclock sunday night. a neighbor tells us a couple and two children live in the home. he believes it may have been the father. it's not being called a homicide at the moment but

in top stories... a kansas family is devastated... after their ten year old child dies at a kansas city water park. fox news correspondent, kelly wright, has the latest from new york. prosapio says: "we are saddened to share that a young boy died on verruckt this afternoon." a young boy dies on the world's tallest water slide. the incident happening sunday at the schlitterbahn waterpark in kansas city, kansas. prosapio says: "we honestly don't know what's happened. that's why an investigation, a full investigation, is necessary. we have to understd what's happened." the family of ten- year-old caleb schwab is now mourning his loss. he's the son of a kansas state representative. park goers are shocked by the news. lundquist says: "i hope they take the proper precautions to protect kids from now on." the waterslide -- the verruckt -- is german for crazy... and drops riders almost 170 feet at 65 miles per hour. the water slide was removed from the park's website after the accident... but then added it back on shortly after. the ride has an age limit of 14 years old

prosapio says: "to be honest, this is something we have not experienced. safety of our guests is a priority. so in addition to the safety, what happened on the ride, the staff is affected. the waterpark is now closed... as an investigation is underway, prosapio says: "our lifeguards are critical and it would be very difficult for them to focus after something like this. so for that reason we felt it was wise to close the park." (on-cam tag) it's not clear a this time when the water park will reopen. in new york, kelly wright, fox news. officials have arrested a michigan man on a felony drug trafficking charge... after 24 people were hospitalized from eating candy laced with t-h-c. it happened saturday at a music festival in ohio. fire officials responded after several festival go-ers felt sick with unusual symptoms. the victims were taken to the

they were given narcan -- a drug commonly used to reverse the effects of opiates. around 27- hundred people made their way to the small village of butler for the two-day music event. steinman says: "we were contacted this morning as this occurred and as we responded to the scene, we had some unusual symptoms of people, so we contacted medical control and got direction on how to treat the patients. as the number of people increased, we engaged assets from the surrounding counties and all of the departments, so that we could transport them all to the hospital, so they could get definitive treatment." working to determine what exactly made the group sick... right now--the candies are being tested and results should be available sometime next week. the hillary clinton campaign wrapping up a busy few days of events aimed at registering voters. congressman ruben gallego

here in las vegas... to show his support. he was joined by purple heart recipients for a phone bank with southern nevada veterans. gallego is an outspoken advocate for veterans and their families in congress. " every vote is going to matter, in places like nevada, it could come down to one or two votes, so having people go door to door, on the phones, talking to their neighbors, talking to neighbors at the supermarket it really really does matter. the weekend of action comes on the heels of clinton's visit to nevada on thursday where she hosted a rally and highlighted her jobs plan. former president bill clinton is heading to las vegas to campaign for his wife... but he wont be alone. libertarian candidate gary johnson will do the same. on friday both clinton and johnson are coming to caesars palace for the asian american and pacific island voters forum. thousands are expected to attend. organizers say they are also working with donald trumps camp. the forum will mark the first time major presidential campaigns speak directly to the a- a-p-i community at the same event.

the official republican nominee for president... lots of tourists can be seen outside the trump tower in new york city on a daily basis. they're trying to get a glimpse of the billionaire... or at the very least, his motorcade. the atrium of the building is open to the public... with multiple restaurants inside, and of course, the trump store. people who live and work in the area say the streets are congested with all the tourists...the media crews, security personnel and police officers. lantry says: "it's so congested and you have your camera crews, your police." " lantry says: "it's like christmas all over again, it's a mob scene.ou walk down the sidewalks, you have to walk in the streets, it's a bit of an inconvenience but what can you do?" many new yorkers say say they realize that there's not much they can do about it... but just wait until november and see what happens after the election. in more local news.. developers have narrowed down their top picks for an n-f-l stadium but the bali hai golf club location seems to be leading the pack. fox5's abby theodros has the

nats football four locations left for a proposed n-f-l stadium in las vegas and locals and tourists are all in... scott huffmaster, sacramento: it would be sad for oakland to see them leave, but i think very exciting for the team and the city of las vegas. sands corp and majestic reality - the lead developers on the project - are calling bali hai golf club the top contender. andy abboud, sands: the bali hai sight, we think is the top location right now because of its proximity to interstate 15, interstate 215, and its access to side streets and feasibility into the stadium area. the bali hai site is about 140 acres. andy abboud with the sands corp says its the right amount of space for a domed stadium with 65 thousand seats and the parking to compliment it. fox5 stopped by the strip to see what football fans thought about bringing an nfl grade stadium to the city and the possibilty of the raiders calling it home. don nole, chicago: i have lots of friends in chicago who are raiders fans and they would absolutley love it. its cheaper to get to las vegas than it is to san fransisco or oakland.

raiders work in oakland, play in oakland and its not a very nice place to play and this would be quite a bit warmer if it was a dome stadium it would be really nice for them. assata akil, las vegas: i definitely support the opportunity to see men in tight pants. what ever reason - officials say locals have even more reason to rejoice... andy abboud, sands:the beauty of this project is that local citizens will not be paying a dime for this stadium. it will be paid for by our room tax which is a very strong contributor to the tax base and our economy here, so with a very small increase in the room tax paid for by tourists and the rest is being paid for by sheldon adelson and other investors sands corp is also mccarran airport to avoid any issues with air traffic. an oversight committee is expcted to review the new stadium site at it's next meeting august 25. new cases of the zika virus popping up in the u-s. how health officials are aggressively working to stop the spread of the disease. plus.. the future is friendly at mcdonald's... a look inside it's new high tech restaurant...

officials in florida say they're seeing more homegrown zika virus cases popping up in the state. dan simon reports on growing national concerns... and the aggressive effort by health officials to stop the spread. --reporter pkg-as follows-- as florida health crews work to rid the state of zika- infected mosquitoes... other parts of the nation are nervously bracing for the virus to spread. it's the height of mosquito season. and cities like new orleans, with hot, muggy conditions, are particularly vulnerable. (mayor mitch orleans, la) "our mentality should not be a matter of if we will face a locally- transmitted case, but rather when. because it is likely we're gonna have one." with similar climates, louisiana, alabama, mississippi, georgia and texas have all crafted plans to combat zika. but the threat goes even farther. this map from the national center for atmospheric research shows all the states at risk. with yellow being low risk, orange moderate, and red being a high risk. still, health officials say they don't expect wide- spread outbreaks. (pres. barack obama) "but we cannot be complacent. because we do expect to see more zika cases."

(nats - plane) it's begun using airplanes to spray insecticide. the chemicals spread across a ten-mile area. the early results seem promising -- with a high kill rate in the traps used to gauge effectiveness. (nats - vacuum) it's been mopping up water to deprive mosquitoes from laying their eggs. while health officials have fanned the community, administering more than 24-hundred tests to residents to see how widespread the virus may be. (nats) "have a good one!" florida has also waged a fierce public relations campaign. police officers information pamphlets to tourists, and encouraging the use of bug repellent. big spray has become so prevalent, that stores have actually run out of it. also in short supply -- money. which scientists hoped would fund research to a zika vaccine. the white house and congress have been engaged in a fierce partisan battle, over a 1-point-9 billion dollar zika funding bill. mcdonald's is going high tech...and it's all starting off in missouri. the fast food giant opened the doors to it's newest location in saint joseph missouri on thursday.. and check it out! it's fully equipped with self serve kiosks that let you customize your order... and high tech play areas! customers can order their favorite menu items with just a few taps of their fingers. habiger says: "we wanted to bring a modern and progressive burger and breakfast restaurant to our community and i think we have." once each person's food is ready -- it's even delivered to their table. and get this.. for the first few months at this particular location, dine in customers will get unlimited fries..with select orders. locals will be able to enjoy a cold beer and wings while playing giant versions of their favorite games. dave and busters is opening here in las vegas today!
