10. local. las vegas. a wild night in the las vegas valley as a large.. and loud storm tears across.. people were driving through this flooded intersection at lake mead and civic center around 8:30 tonight. and earlier tonight .. lightning lit up the sky over centennial hills .. this video was sent in to the fox 5 facebook page by rhiannon yvonne gamez. and a free light show could be seen in downtown las vegas tonight.. justin barnett sent us this video of lightning from the 17th floor of station. in henderson and logandale alone, officials tell fox5 they've performed nine water rescues and responded to three building fires due to the flash flooding and lightning. i'm christine maddela. i'm john huck. we've got you covered tonight as this wet weather moves through.. miguel martinez valle-- is out -- live in the northeast valley at nellis and bonanza.. but first let's get right to meteorologist sam argier (ar- jeer) -- who's been tracking thunderstorms

showers and thunderstorms are expected to increase across southern nevada this evening. the prime time to see storms around the las vegas valley will be between 7 p.m. and 2 a.m. tuesday morning. any storms that form will bring gusty winds and the potential for localized flash flooding. our showers ease up for tuesday with only a few pop up storms possible; mainly over the mountains and north of the valley. high temperatures will hold in the upper 90s and low 100s on tuesday. more sun and warmer weather is on the way for the middle of the week.

barking at least someone enjoys the rain! erica weeks sent us this video of chase the rain.. this was taken in north las vegas around ann and allen. you can see this video .. and dozens others on the fox 5 las vegas facebook page. that's also where you can send us pictures or video of the storms .. and the flooding left behind. and be sure to tune in tomorrow morning for updates on any closed roads and your morning weather. fire officials lifted evacuation orders for those living in san bernardino county... the blue cut fire has been burning for nearly a week. it is now 89 percent contained.... "

" the fire first sparked last tuesday.... it has burned 58-square miles and destroyed more than 100 homes. crews have been attacking the fire from land and air. 82 thousand people were evacuated.. with five other fires burning in california... fire officials say crews are and shortages may force some firefighters to stay on duty longer than scheduled. the worker who was attacked by a swarm of bees at a southwest valley home has died. you may remember--- back on august fourth-- the man-- identified as jose pacheco was working for an unlicensed extermination company... when he was stung hundreds of times. pacheco was not wearing protective gear at the time. he died on thursday at southern hills hospital.

the scaffold he was working on collapsed. it happened at tivoli village in summerlin. now the company paused construction at the site. fox5's miguel martinez valle was at the scene earler tonight. a construction project at tivoli village turned to tragedy when the scaffolding holding three employees suddenly collapsed... " when the dust settled we found there was only one person seriously injured, we found they were actually deceased." the las vegas fire department had a crew sti the area, they responded to the scene almost immediately... " actually when they got in there they said the dust was still out in the air from falling" but according to tim szymanski, it was already too late... while two of the workers on the scaffolding managed to jump to safety... one of the men was not able to get off in time. " this person was not able to escape, and the scaffolding fell with him" bridge " the incident happened around two and everyone was sent home

kids will be back in the classroom. c-c-s-d wants all drivers to pay attention now that more kids will be out-- traveling to school. today starts the 3-rd annual "zero fatalities for children" week. clark county police teamed up with "look out, kids about" to give a lesson on bike safety. there was a bike rodeo where kids were given free helmets. parents were encouraged to plan a safe bike route with their kids and practice
