10. local. las vegas. a wild night in the las vegas valley as a large.. and loud storm tears across.. people were driving through this flooded intersection at lake mead and civic center around 8:30 tonight. and earlier tonight .. lightning lit up the sky over centennial hills .. this video was sent in to the fox 5 facebook page by rhiannon yvonne gamez. and a free light show could be seen in downtown las vegas tonight.. justin barnett sent us this video of lightning from the 17th floor of station. in henderson and logandale alone, officials tell fox5 they've performed nine water rescues and responded to three building fires due to the flash flooding and lightning. i'm christine maddela. i'm john huck. we've got you covered tonight as this wet weather moves through.. miguel martinez valle-- is out -- live in the northeast valley at nellis and bonanza.. but first let's get right to meteorologist sam argier (ar- jeer) -- who's been tracking thunderstorms
showers and thunderstorms are expected to increase across southern nevada this evening. the prime time to see storms around the las vegas valley will be between 7 p.m. and 2 a.m. tuesday morning. any storms that form will bring gusty winds and the potential for localized flash flooding. our showers ease up for tuesday with only a few pop up storms possible; mainly over the mountains and north of the valley. high temperatures will hold in the upper 90s and low 100s on tuesday. more sun and warmer weather is on the way for the middle of the week.

the scaffold he was working on collapsed. it happened at tivoli village in summerlin. now the company paused construction at the site. fox5's miguel martinez valle was at the scene earler tonight. a construction project at tivoli village turned to tragedy when the scaffolding holding three employees suddenly collapsed... " when the dust settled we found there was only one person seriously injured, we found they were actually deceased." the las vegas fire department had a crew sti the area, they responded to the scene almost immediately... " actually when they got in there they said the dust was still out in the air from falling" but according to tim szymanski, it was already too late... while two of the workers on the scaffolding managed to jump to safety... one of the men was not able to get off in time. " this person was not able to escape, and the scaffolding fell with him" bridge " the incident happened around two and everyone was sent home
