we begin with breaking news we've been covering all morning long. an nhp trooper has been shot... the suspect is dead. we have team coverage for you... we begin with fox five's alyssa deitsch live at the scene... on boulder highway near u.s. 95 alyssa..what do we know so far. an nhp trooper pu light colored cadillac around midnight near boulder and lamb for a traffic violation. the driver pulled over. he had two passengers in his car-- a man and a woman. when the trooper was running the drivers info--the man in the back of the car took off on foot. trooper chased him into a business parking lot. preliminary
the officer- it's unclear how many rounds-- and struck the officer right in his badge. the trooper was not injured and returned fire-- hitting and killing the suspect on scene. so again-- the male suspect was declared dead on scene. and the nhp trooper was given the all clear here and declined being taken to the hospital. for more about the actual shootings details... let's send it over to mike doria who's also on scene with team coverage. mike? police this morning saying the bulletproof vest is def a troopers best friend. the trooper was struck in the badge there is pretty big dent in that according to police. however even if struck in the bulletproof best that can still cause brusiing and or broken bones. again the trooper was clearned here at the scene. boulder highway between lamb and u-s 95 is closed in both directions.

intellectual disabilities and autism back in 2013 josh started researching, working to find support and funding to support students with disabilities. it always ends in hs with them, why can't they go to college like everybody else. last year, project focus was born. are you ok, buddy? you seem nervous from the outside looking in, many think these students can't make it through college. it's just like everybody else, you have to find their strengths and weaknesses. if you're not given the opportunity, how do you know how good you can be. one of my family members is autistic and i watched him grow up through the years and it would have been great to have a program like this for him. so, go josh! at henderson chevrolet, josh got his shining star award, certificate and five hundred dollars. i love this community, i love this population. i can't understand why we can't support each other and be inthe same inclusive environment.
