boulder and lamb for a traffic violation. the driver pulled over. he had two passengers in his car-- a man and a woman. when the trooper was running the drivers info--the man in the back of the car took off on foot. trooper chased him into a business parking lot. preliminary reports show the suspect fired at the officer- it's unclear how many rounds-- and struck the officer right in his badge. the trooper was not injured and returned fire-- hitting and killing the suspect on scene. an nhp officer tells me... they're all very shaken up about the officer being shot at. always when we hear about... glad trooper is ok so again-- the male suspect was

a hiker is dead after falling at red rock canyon. it happen just after 6 last night. according to police-- the hiker was hiking with a a group. the hiker fell about 150-feet near ice box canyon. a man's body has been found inside of a car in a north valley parking lot.. and authorities say-- its connected to a missing persons case. police say the man had been missing for several days.. when a family member finally spotted the car. it was parked in front of a thrift

and witnesses say it had a strong odor. we're learning more details about david coil -- the man who police say ran a sex ring out of his valley home. they say coil used craigslist to enlist young girls into his sex trafficking ring. and one of the victims was his own daughter. a absolutely tarrying and i have a child its so terngrify butt to g wow i am just so so shocked and saddenened by this these poor poor children police say the 63 year old's prostitution ring came to light. after a 16-year- old told her teacher that coil offered her 100- dollars to give "body rubs" to old men. the victims are reported to be as young as 12. coil is expected in court this morning. new this morning.. metro needs your help tracking

robbed a local business back in june. it happened on sun city near del webb. police say two armed men stole an undisclosed amount of money before running away. if you know anything that can help police, call crime stoppers at 702-385-55-55. you can remain annonymous. looks like we are down to two possible nfl stadium sites. if a team comes they would play at either the bali hai golf club or the lot on russell road and tropicana. u-n-l-v says they want the stadium as the possible home of the raiders.. and an extra field for the rebels. but funding is still an issue. the project calls for 750-million dollars in public funding.. but its not clear how that would be collected. right now is the perfect time, perfect storm, with the team motivated to come here most of the funds

national parks all across the country as it turns 100. nasa even took these amazing photos of the parks from space. the party continues all weekend long with free entry to the parks. in today's health news. law enforcement officers in ohio have been battling a difficult epidemic. trying to uncover heroin. that has been causing a high number of overdoses. in just two days cincinnati officers responded to 78 overdose calls. and those are just the ones reported. to combat the problem.. officers are following up with overdose patients offering them a path toward treatment. - "what we're doing is giving people a chance to get out of a system, refocusing resources and pulling someone out of the cycle of addiction.

for nearly nine hours.. after wandering off property. back in june.. gene mcmillan was shot and critically injured while he was working at a 7-11 near sahara and lamb. has been living at a rehabilitation center ever since. and yesterday.. his family got a call that he was missing.

officers in ohio have been battling a difficult epidemic. trying to uncover a new kind of heroin. that has been causing a high number of overdoses. in just two days cincinnati officers responded to 78 overdose calls. and those are just the ones reported. the problem. officers are following up with overdose patients offering them a path toward treatment. - "what we're doing is giving people a chance to get out of a system, refocusing resources and pulling someone out of the cycle of addiction. butt to "if a kid hears an anti-drug message, there's a 50% chance they will never do drugs." ohio governor john kasich also weighing in.. saying the state needs to start an early intervention
