overcrowding, especially at schools in some of the valley's fastest growing areas. for students at those schools going back to school doesn't necessarily mean they'll be inside the school. fox5's eric hilt talked with teachers at one of the district's most overcrowded schools - and joins us now. that school is williams v wright elemetary school... when it was built, the district expected it to hold about 750 students, but this year, the school has around 13- hundred students. fifth grade teacher nicole gladish's one of the 28 portable classrooms outside of the school building. wright elementary even has a portable cafeteria and portable bathrooms. this is nicole third year teaching in a portable, and she says the biggest problem she runs into is not having access to some of the resources there are inside the building. "one of the hardest parts of being in the portable is not having access to all the technoloogy inside, you have to walk in there but if you're in one of the pods you can easily send out kids to do vmath whereas here we dont have that

the district says there is an end in sight for teachers like nicole a new elementary school is opening up in 2019 that will reduce the overcrowding at wright. district administrators say their goal is to get the portable classrooms out of every elementary school. soc
