get a first look at your fox5 weather 24-7 forcast... meteorologist cassandra jones joins us now. scattered showers and or thunderstorms are forecast to stay in northwest arizona today as a drier southwest flow pushes into our area for the labor day weekend.. daytime temperatures will remain in triple digits friday, followed by a downward trend. saturday's high is 98, by sunday it drops to 91. daytime temperatures will continue to trend below seasonal for next week. the uv friday is 9 or very high.

years. that's the sentence handed down thursday to one of the men accused of killing a local teenager over an ipad. back in 20-13 michael solid and his accomplice jab tried to rob 15- year-old marcos arenas of his ipad but the teen didn't want to let go. that's when police say the men ran over the teen with their s-u-v and took his ipad. dismont plead guilty to second- degree murder and conspiracy before the trial. and will be sentenced in october. a plea deal continues to move forward - for a mentally disturbed man - who prompted a police officer to shoot a gun at him - outside the bellagio. kahleal black was given a suspended sentence of 18 to

resisting an officer with use of a firearm. he has been ordered to mental health court on september 13-th. this is video of a previous court appearance - where black had to be physically restrained. he was accused of pointing a gun at crowds near the bellagio in january. a police officer fired at him... but the bullets grazed two bystanders. both prosecutors and defense attorneys agree black was suffering from a mental health crisis. a man killed during a traffic stop fired twice before being shot to death by a troope nevada highway patrol. fox5's eric hilt has more on new information released by the nhp... nats -- running dashcam video shows the moments leading up to a deadly gunfight between an nhp trooper and 41 year old matthew gibbon nats -- shots, shots fired police say last thursday night a man asked gibbon for meth amphetemine, and gibbon asked for a ride in exchange for the drugs. "gibbon agreed to give the male subject two pieces

give him a ride home, the male subject called his mother who agreed to pick them up and give them a ride" nhp says shortly after, nhp trooper shawn peckham saw that car didn't have any tags, turned on his lights and pulled the three over. "gibbon was telling the female driver to not stop, the driver refused and pulled over in front of 4080 boulder highway" several minutes into the video of the traffic stop, you can see gibbon run out of the backseat carrying handgun. peckham got out of his car and then, seconds later outside the frame of the dashcam... nats -- shots ...gunshots. nats -- code red nhp says gibbon turned around and fired two shots... they say the trooper returned fire -- shooting 11 total rounds during the exchange and hitting gibbon in the left hand and in the forehead. nats -- "shots fired shots fired one is down" "gibbons was unresponsive and medical was called to the scene where

dead by the clark county fire department." trooper peckham was also hit -- but nhp says thankfully that bullet struck the badge he was wearing on his chest. "we're very fortunate that it hit the badge in this case" the day after meeting with the president of mexico. donald trump takes his campaign to ohio. but he wasn't alone in the buckeye state. karin caifa reports from washington. --reporter pkg-as follows-- picking up where he left off, taking his messages on trade and immigration , to ohio. who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth who's now choking because he's now got his foot in his mouth. democrats have slammed trump's visit with mexican president enrique pena nieto, especially trump's claim that they talked about his proposed border wall, but not who would pay for it. (sen. tim kaine, (d) vice presidential candidate) when he looked president pena nieto in the eye, he couldn't even bring that up. that was a choke, and i think it shows that diplomacy is not for amateurs. donald trump's an amateur. pena nieto has said he did tell trump, that mexico would wall. but trump's running mate mike pence said the two already knew where they stood. (gov. mike pence, (r) vice presidential candidate) both sides fully understood before the meeting that they disagreed on who would pay for the wall. both sides had already arrived at a clear understanding of that. and there was really no need to discuss that at the meeting. meanwhile, another name entered the campaign mix thursday. hermine, the storm threatening florida. vice presidential candidate tim kaine called off stops in the battleground state, and stumped

instead. in washington, i'm karin caifa. powerful video has been released.... of a space-x rocket explosion.... at cape canaveral. you can see it burst into flames - while sitting on the launch pad. nasa said it happened during a routine test of the falcon nine rocket. that rocket carrying the amos-six communications satellite meant to provide facebook's free- internet program to sub-saharan africa. the satellite was and destroyed in the explosion. space-x says there were no injuries. new watering restrictions are in place in southern nevada. the southern nevada water authority is reminding homeowners and businesses that the mandatory fall watering schedule is now in effect - through october 31-st. the schedule limits water customers to three days a week - according to assigned groups. sprinkler watering is prohibited on sundays. dry spots can be hand watered at any time. you can find your
