month. police records show he was also contacted during a 2015 investigation about a pipe bomb exploding in a vacant lot. more than 500 people protesting against the dakota access pipeline interfered with crews at a pipeline work site after cutting the fence. the demonstrators say private security threatened them with canines during the peaceful protest. "it was kind of scary. you know a lot of people are out here with their children. accidents happen all the time people could really get hurt." police say say some demonstrators assaulted private security guards with fence posts and flag poles. they say the guards sprayed many of the protesters with pepper spray and that some people were injured by the dogs. several security guards and law enforcement officers say they were hurt. one security guard needed to be hospitalized. here at home.... the protestors who gathered in front of the bellagio fountains
acccess pipeline this weekend are planning another protest. "the las vegas tribe" teamed up with "the bee people" to get the word out. the other protest is set for later this week. a poll finds support for the "black lives matter" movement has increased among young white adults. the survey also indicates that a majority of white, black, asian and hispanic young adults now support the movement... calling for accountability for police in the deaths of african-americans. 51-percent of white adults between the ages of 18 and 30 say in a "gen-forward" poll they now strongly or somewhat support black lives matter. that's a 10-point increase since june. president obama is defending n-f-l quarterback colin kaepernick's right to sit during the national anthem. "my understanding, at least, is that is he's exercising his constitutional right to make a statement. i think there's a long history of sports

not only did they refuse the deal... they released this "game of thrones" themed retribution! the caption simply says, "who's the king?" a p-g-a golf pro attempts to play 400 holes in 24 hours to raise money for a good cause. "if i can do something to help a serviceman's family, that's what it's all about." p-g-a golf pro jimmy mcmullen of the sa country club hit the links all day long in an effort to help military service members and families of fallen solders. the money raised will benefit the "folds of honor" national charity... which helps children of fallen and injured soldiers go to school. mcmullen was hoping to raise 5- thousand dollars during his charity feat. a swimmer from seattle sets a new record... as she tries to bring back "marathon swimming." erika norris swam ten miles in about four hours... even though the water
her goal is to make northwest marathon swimming popular again. the sport was common in the 19-50's... but interest for it died down. norris is just the second person to do it. the first person to complete it was amy hiland in 19-59. a family hiking mount charleston ran into trouble... when their six- year-old girl broke her arm. luckily for them... a u-f-c fighter was on the same trail and jumped in to help. "miesha tate" saw what was happening... and actually volunteered to carry little "kai" down the mountain! you're taking a look at some of the pictures posted on instagram. the family says miesha saved them hours of hiking and helped them get kai to the hospital sooner. kai later sent miesha a thank you message. "thank you miesha, thank you for carrying me, thank you for helping me " miesha says this
didn't want to let go, it was so pretty i wanted it to last longer. it really was quite nice. it was very calm and i don't know i just looked at it's eyes and it was just, it was beautiful." a young red- tailed hawk injured months ago in colorado was just released back into the wild. the nature and raptor center of pueblo sees as many as 250 injured birds every year. this bird was hurt in a storm a couple months ago and the team nursed it back to health. now the hawk is back in her natural environment where she belongs... thanks to the kindness and generosity of complete strangers. firefighters... police officers and paramedics enjoyed free salad and breadsticks on labor day thanks to olive garden. the restaurant chain used the labor day holiday to thank our first
in our community. they've served over ten thousand free meals since the tradition started 15 years ago in 20-02. olive garden workers delivered and serveed the food wherever our first responders were working. "just to do one little thing out of the year, is such an honor to help out the ones that serve us everyday, the ones that are out there risking their lives everyday" more than 800 olive garden restaurants participated all over the country. families all the valley spent the day off from school and work at sunset park. they enjoyed the nice weather by biking around the trails and barbequeing at the picnic areas. of course there was also plenty of fishing going on at the lake... and pets even got in on the labor day fun. in fact -- not all of the people at the park were there just to celebrate a monday off... "it's our friend's baby shower. we're here celebrating.
