overnight... an apartment fire forces dozens of people from their homes. fox5's alyssa deitsch joins us live from the scene on las vegas boulevard and serene.. alyssa.. this isn't the first fire at that complex.. we're at an apartm complex called "the paradise spas"... a complex a couple neighbors are describing to us as a tinder box. the fire started around 10-15 last night.. displacing 20

homes. we don't know what caused this fire yet... but we spoke with two neighbors... who smelled the smoke.. and came outside during all the commotion. they've lived here for three years... and this is not the first time they've seen units in the complex go up in flames. "these places go up like match sticks all the time. that one just one up was a five alarmer... this one is getting close to it." according to

we don't know how recently they've been renovated, if at all. but for the 20 people out of their homes this morning... the red cross will be assisting them. finding them a safe place to sleep... food... medicine... clothing.... everything they need that might have been destroyed in the fire.

news.. the 4-day manhunt for a murder suspect who escaped custody has ended.. police arrested alonso perez --around 8 tuesday night near charleston and pecos. he had been on the run since friday. perez was found by an f-b-i task force in a home just 8 miles away from the north las vegas police station. he's is now the main suspect in the murder of mohammad the victim's family says they are relieved that perez is off the streets. a northwest valley neighborhood says it's being targeted.. after a series of car break-ins. "people are coming through popping our door handles, trying to see if their are access in our vehicles, rummaging through and taking things out of cars throughout the neighborhood." "i just feel like that shouldn't be ok for somebody, a stranger to walk in my car and go through my things because i leave my door unlocked." neighbors in the

community" -- near ann and simmons -- say the break-ins are not random.. and have been going on for months. victims say they have filed police reports.. and they are in the early stages of the paperwork to start a neighborhood watch program. boulder station is now the first station casino in nevada to vote to become part of the culinary and bartenders union. maria: " i feel happy, and glad that it's one step ahead, and it's gonna help for all of us, all the workers, to get something that we need for our families..." more than 530 employees voted in a secret ballot election over the weekend.. where 67-percent saidhe be represented by the union. the vote comes after decades of disagreements between station casinos and the culinary union. nevada is lending a hand to future college students...by giving away money for education savings accounts. the nevada treasurer's office will create 5 accounts with a starting balance of 529-dollars each. the goal is to help get students started on '529 plans.' the office is accepting entries from students 13 or younger through september 30-th.

contest.. we have a link on our website. i-t-t technical institute says it will close all of it's campuses...after being sanctioned by the department of education. the move impacts about 35-thousand students.. and around 8- thousand people will lose their jobs. i-t-t says the government barred new students from getting federal loans to pay for it to shut down. students can try and finish their education at another school.. but the i-t-t tech website says credits are unlikely to transfer.
