year 2021. will this hurt las vegas? fox 5's mike doria joins us with the answer and some insight from unlv's center for gaming research. the short aswer is no -- las vegas is sort of bulletproof. but that doesn't mean sin city can sit back and relax either. it still has to keep up with the times and technology. the big reason why online gambling will hit one trillion in a few years is the engagment. companies use news and media to draw in the gambler who might find a story on his or her favorite team on the gambling website. also -- the online platforms provide

on past betting -- something traditional slot machines and poker tables can't really do. and by the year 2021 -- virtual reality will be big in the online gambling world accounting for neary half of all wagers. online gambling companies are playing right into their core demographic. "younger people are open to different kinds of games, they're open to different kinds of entertainment. they're not used to going to the movies and paying a flat fee. they're used to more subscription services. when you're looking at how they want to gamble, i think you into account." according to the unlv's center for gaming research las vegas should withstand online gambling because people are coming here to play -- persay. they're here for the entertainment and clubs. the focus has shifted. but las vegas is likely going to get on board with virtual reality -- especially if it hopes to attract the younger crowd to the casino floor. states with lotteries should however be a little fearful of this online gambling boom. people are more apt to spend digitally than they are to plunk down
