clark county set a new record on the first day of voting.. and 55-percent of the early voters who cast their vote on saturday were registered democrats. while just 27- percent were registered republicans. the total clark county turnout of more than 39-thousand 3- hundred shattered a 2012 record in raw numbers. voting is a big deal.. but before you break out your phone to take a selfie you'll have to wait until you leave the voting booth. laws are different depending on the state.. and here in nevada-- you can not take pictures inside of polling places.. and pictures of mailed ballots are also banned. to learn more about how and where to vote early.. and some of the do's and don'ts of casting your ballot.. go to our website fox five vegas dot com. in national headlines this morning..

officials are investigating a deadly bus crash that happened in california over the weekend. authorities say 13 people were killed.. and dozens more were hurt.. when a tour bud heading back to l-a from a casino rear-ended a freight-liner truck. survivors say most of the passengers were sleeping when it happened early sunday morning. california highway patrol is still trying to figure out the exact cause.. but they say cars were slowing in the area for constuction.. and they didn't see braking skid marks from the bus. a huge merger is promising to shake up the media landscape. a-t-and-t has agreed to buy time warner -- in a deal worth 86-billion dollars. the deal would combine a-t and t's wireless and internet services. with time warner's entertainment and programming. giving a-t and t control of channels like c-n- n, t-n-t, and h-b-o. the federal communications commission still needs to sign off..
