kwwl's lauun moss joins us now, and lauren these politcal ads this weekend were a little different. they were part of a deal with nbc network. that's right..ron it was commerciaa break after commercial break... filled with the same four political ads all because of that deal. well, you may remember, candidates complained after donald trump p osted saturdayy night live earlier thii month...and because snl is an entertainment show...nbc agreed to give other candidates free air time under the equal time rule if you were watching kwwl this weekend during prime time candidatess john kasick,,mike huckabee, lindsey graham and jim gilmore were shown over and over again..as a result of the equal time rule. "if a brodcast network or tv station gave free air time to a cannidate than all the other candidates have an equal opp. to get that same air time in similiar fashion on a tv station..anything with a news element this rule does not apply. these candidates requested equal time, after donald trtrmp hosted saturday
nat of donald donald trump had 12 minutes on the air so what we saw was a show these ads in iowa, new hampmphire and south carolina this weekend. kwwl political analyst chris larimer weighs in.. "u know they re not polling well..they are participating in the nder card debates you know that haven't been able to catch on to iowa..they don't have the money that other campaigns do and have so they have to take advantages of these opp. now it's a little early to see ad after ad,..but these candidates need to stay current. its going to be so hard to find advertising space whether it's campaigns so they may be taking advantage of it now where down the road they just might not able o compete. again, the equal time rule
