"some communities hit harder than the '93 floods but most fortunately s not as bad but i'm jeremy roth reporting. the iowa national guard is called to help with flooding recovery efforts in missouri.... they've been helping with bringing in clean water -- from other districts -- to these towers. the water can be dropped off and then pumped to the towers. the guard brought 15 of these tankers with them -- and each tanker carries nearly 2- thousand galons. the entire process takes more than an hour and a half. officials say it's going slow -- but it needs to be done... just no way we could support this "we're just glad to help out.
get t te call to come wn and we do it with a smile on our faces. several firefighters are also helping in jefferson county, missouri... the flooding has been so bad in parts of missouri that president obama signed a federal emergency delcaration this weekend. this action allows the department of homeland security and the federal emergency management agency or "fema" to coordinate all disaster relief efforts inissouri... federal money will also be used to help pay for recovery costs and debris removal... missouri governor jay nixon asked for the declaration after touring areas devastated by the recod flooding.... speaking of president obama -- the first family will be wrapping up theer holiday vacation today... they boarded air force one early this morning and are in route back& to washington currently... but first -- the obama's took in the sights at the honolulu zoo before heading back... the obamas have typically made an annual trip to hawaii for the
