bernie sanders and they would rather run against him." lower tier candidates are taking aim at cruz - on immigration: "ted's all over the place on iowa or new hampshire today except donald trump. he's in las vegas. tracie potts, nbc news, washington. today, clinton will be in vinton and iowa city. ben carson will be in western iowa. new this morning... some eastern iowa parents are worried about unexpected changes coming to their childrens' special education school... kwwl's amanda gilbert joins us live in the newsroom with more details. some parents in waverly recently found out that public school district waverly shell-rock will be taking over management of the leid educational center on bremwood campus.... this center is dedicated to helping studetns with mental health and learning disabilities..... and some parents... such as

phil..... are speaking out because they are concerned that a public school is taking over management of this special education center... they say their kids are here because public school didn't work out this is happening.... "really we're just concerned that the public school system won't continue in the same blueprint that has worked for so many years for so many hundreds of kids. i spoke with aea 267- who currently center.... they say they have been planning to give waverly-shell rock management for a long time.... and that although a public school will be taking over management.... not much should change. the superindent of waverly shell rock told me their goal is to run the educational center the same way it's been running.... a lot of the staff currently working at the special education center will have to be re- hired as

we've got you covered live in the newsroom... amanda gilbert... kwwl news. a-e-a 267 says the reason for this change is it's better to have a local school district managing the leid center since it is a man is arrested for breaking into a waterloo bar- and smashing poker machines. police say charles stocks jr. broke into parks road inn- bashing three video poker machines with a hammer- steals some cash- and then takes off. police say they found him moments later. he's facing burglary charges. take a look at this video- police say this is him swinging cameras and alarm systems. the owner tells us- it's easy..if you break in...you'll get caught... "as soon as they get in the door, the alarm is going off and they don't have very much time it's also important to point out- waterloo police responded to two other burglaries on monday.

they say a video poker machine was also smashed- at vic's lounge in waterloo- so police are investigating if the suspect was behind those break-ins as well. a former police officer in oklahoma city, who was convicted of sexual assault, is to be sentenced. daniel holtzclaw was convicted last month on 18-counts of rape and sexual assault against 13 african american women while he was on-duty. a jury has recommended a sentence totaling 263 years. a high school athletic director will be in a tennessee courtroom today. he's accused of failing to report the sexual assault of four freshmen basketball players. around 70 wildfires are raging across tasmania today. firefighters from other parts of australia were set to arrive in tasmania by tomorrow to help battle the fires. several small towns have been under the threat of an ember attack. but so far, no homes have been destroyed. a woman just misses getting hit by a car crashing into a highway service station.

take a look at the surveillance video. you can see the woman walking on the left side of your screen when the car comes flying in. this happening in australia. the woman was thrown to the ground, but luckily wasn't hit by the car. in brazil, video shows a passenger being thrown high into the air as a pick-up truck rolls over several times before coming to a stop. a man was riding in the front passenger seat of this pick-up when it rolled, ejecting another passenger. the passenger survived with broken bones. two people are hurt when a fire truck slams into a dairy queen. take a look at the damage to the texas restaurant. police say it was someone from a repair shop...not a firefighter...behind the wheel. the repair shop worker was returning the truck to the fire house. the person driving and one person inside the dairy queen were hurt --but are expected to two grain silos come crashing down after a planned implosion... ground after the explosion. they were considered an eyesore in the area and are being cleared for new development. the iowa department of transportation was prepared for this week's snowfall... the d-o-t has opened a new traffic management center in ankeny. workers can watch 48 video feeds at once from a total the purpose of the center is to monitor traffic, and keep traffic flowing throughout the state of iowa on the states primary highway system. they also dispatch highway helpers, and help steer law enforcement to accidents on the road. veterans issues come to the forefront at the capitol for the annual veterans day. lieutenant governor kim reynolds giving an update on the state's home base iowa initiative. it connects veterans with careers in iowa. so far, 36 communities have signed up to be part of the as a state, there isn;t anything they've shown the leadership and demonstrated time and time against overseas and at home, that it's all about taking care of one another. the lieutenant governor says the

home base iowa initiative has helped 17-hundred veterans find jobs since 2013. it's getting to be that time of year again--the world famous decorah eagles getting ready to add more members to their family. the stars of the most viewed live stream of all time have been very busy over the past few months getting their nest ready. you can see in this video, dad arranging the nest, trying to make it as comfortable and warm as possible for the eggs mom milder conditions... police used video from cy-ride buses as part of the investigation. officers say they could hear the bus hit jacobs...that's what led them to clague as their suspect. emmalee graduated from center point urbana high school last spring before heading to iowa state. her pastor says she spent most of her life going to center point united methodist church. as you can imagine, he says the last month or so has been very the jacobs family... "up to this point it's been kind why this is all taken place and why her life was taken, this know who did it and now we can move forward in trying to understand why." we spoke with emmalee's father. brad jacobs. he says he doesn't know if you can call this arrest closure, but says it was nice to have it resolved. just days before the break in this case - - one of emmalee's
