baltimore... and philadelphia could be hit the hardest. thousands of flights have lready been cccelled. storm track seven meteorologist kyle kiel is here now with your storm tracc seven forecast. the big story across the country, is the major winter storm from the miisouth to the mid atlantic and northeast through the weeked. you can clearly see the center of this storm in the south, producing freezing rain, snow, and even severe thundersttrms and tornadoes to the south in florida. this will strengthen and move up the coast. blizzard warnings, winter storm warnings, winter weather advisories in effect for millions wf people. this will greatly impact travel. there has been a little bit of light snow and flurries t tcking through the area overnight, however it hasn't had too much of an impact on the roads. here's the storm track 7 live doppler radar. the snow has

during a shootout, hostage wa shot. both she.. and another employee shot at the bank... are expected to survive. two people are dead after a wrong way crash on an interstate. this is the scene out of wisconsin as first responders arrive. authorities say an 85-year-old man was driving the wrong way and hit another vehicle driven by a 35- year-old.... both died at the scene. investigators are trying to fiure out why thth driver was going the wrong way. the sheriff's department does not believe drugs or alcohol were involved. an avalanche in utah kills one man and leaves another injured. the victim was buried in the avalanche. another man was partially buried.... he was airlifted to the hospital. a police officer is recovering in the hospital after being stabbed in the face at a casino. miami police say a disgruntled custoor was inside the casino and officers responded to remove him. a struggle happened, and that's when the customer stabbed the

had to get stitches for his injuries and was released from the hospital. a convicted murderer serving life in prison is caught communicating freely with the outside world through social media. he went live on periscope for days from the alabama priion-- bringing in momoe than three- thousand followers and asking them to send money. the victim's sister says the support is completely unwarranted. "he killed my brother in front grandma and the rest of my murderer." he's s ow being mmed to a highee security facility. a judge throws out a defamation lawsuit against bill cosby. renita hill filed the lawsuit in october. she claims cosby defamed her in the media. hill is one of more than 50 women who have accused cosby of sexual assault. the judge dismissed her claims, ruling that statemnts made by cosb and his lawyer did not support a defammtion claim as defined by pennsylvania law. a former police officer is sentenced to 263 years in prison

we're human, too." deputies call it a tragic accident -- and say there was nothing suspicious about his death. a toddler in oregon is ok this morning after running out into traffic. take a look at the dash cam video out. you can see the outline of the two-year-old boy come running into your picture. authorities say he snuck out of a community center and made his way into traffic. luckily he was not hurt. the sheriff's office says it could have been much worse if the deputy wasn't paying attention. in a kwwl follow-up this morning: an eastern iowa courthouse hero is suing the estate of a man who took his own life inside that courthouse. larry "buck" koos tackled gus glaser, potentially saving lives. that happened in 2014 -- after glaser pulled out a gun at a board of supervisors meeting inn jackson county. koos is one of three men who are suing -- claiming glaser was negligent -- causing those inside to suffer injury and emotional distress. attorneys for glaser's estate deny the allegations.

continuing coverage -- no charges against an iowa sheriff's deputy following a shooting. the muscatine county attorney says a deputy was justified when he shoho a suspect affr a chase last week. authorities say timothy seefeldt stole a hummer from a restaurant parking lot. he was then accused of leading police on a chase and hitting several cars in a hotel parking lot, including a squad car. at that point, the deputy fired and hit seefeldt. he was then arrested and taken to the hospital. he is expected to be ok. a man -- kicked by police after a traffic stop -- is being given 180- thousand dollars. that was the decision by a jury in oregon. dash cam video shows what happened. the man was riding his motorcycle when the officer knocked him off his bike at a traffic light. the officer then kicked him. the officer claims what he did was in line with state police policy. here's fallout from the water crisis in flint, michigan. a regional director with the e-p-a has resigned. water from the flint river

that allowed lead to leak from pipes. the e-p-a is giving an emergency order -- to make sure the state takes actions to protect public health. we're about a week nd a half away from waterloo voters deciding the fate of a 35-million dollar career center for high school students. the center is part of a 47 million dollar plan. that includes updates to waterloo east and west high schools. we heard from taxpayers last night during a town hall just get behind it because we do telling us the entir truth about what it is going to cost custodial wise, ansportatioo wise, etc. for the next 20 years." the district plans to pay for the center through an income surtax which it says will cost the average person 53 dollars a year for the the act and sat aae known for being major factors in college admissions. but one universtiy is saying maybe that shouldn't be the case... kwwl's amanda gilbert joins us
