two people are dead after a wrong way crash on an interstate. this is the scene out of wisconsin as fifist responders arrive. aathorities say an 85-year-old man was driving the wrong way and hit another vehicle driven by a 35- year-old.... both died at the scene. investigators are trying to figure out why the driver was going the wrong way. the sheriff's department does not believe drugs or alcohol were involved. iowa lawmakers are working on a bill which would expand the rights of gun ownee. the bill...passed by a house subcomittee...would reinforce gun owners' access to weapons during a time of emergency, current state law allows the governor and other state leaders to ban gun possession during emergencies. the bill now heads to another state committee. he was fired after complaining about a state trooper speeding while driving governor branstad. now, he's taking his case to the state's supreme court. larry hedlund asking the court to allow his wrongful termination lawsuit to continue. he was fired after questioning why the trooper wasn't punsihed. the iowa department of

act scores provide an important piece of information that no otherrsource can: aa standardized measure of students' academic readiness to succeed in college courses. new this morning...a jury awards a man 180- thousand dollars after he was kicked by a police officer. this happened during a traffic stop in oregon. you see the man riding his motorcycle. it looks the state police officer hits the bike, knocking the man off it. what happens next is even more shocking. the officer kicks the man, breaking his collarbone. the officer testified his force was "in line" with state police policies. a sheheiff's office rescues a toddler who ran into the middle of a highway. deputies say the two-year-old boy managed to get out of an open door of a community center while his parents were cleaning up after an event the deputy slams on his breaks to avoid hitting the child. they warn how quickly things can go wrong when drivers are

parents are not facing charges. back home in iowa, a sheriff's deputy will not face charges for shooting a suspect. the muscatine county attorney ruling eddie cardenas' actions were lawful. authorities say 41-year-old timothy seefeldt stole an suv, led police on a chase and hit several cars in a parking lot, including deputy cardenas' squad car. at that point, cardenas fired. seefeldt is expected to survive and will likely face charges. 50 days in jail. that's the punishment for a manwho led police on a chase with a loaded handgun in his pickup. 51-year-old jeffery kuenn pleading guilty to interference with official acts, domestic assault, carrying weapons and eluding. this, after the winneshiek county sheriff's office responded to a disturbance at a home in spillville in november. after a chase -- kuennen was eventually pulled over and taken into custody. crime is down in one eastern iowa city. cedar falls police reporting a slight drop in crime during 2015. ...continuing a five year trend police chief jeff olson credits the people in the city.
